Moon in Taurus
|Karmically serious, sobering, challenging third| of this week is with us until Tuesday near noon

"A man bringing down the new law from Sinai" is each one of us trying (a) to determine which "Moses" or spiritual leader we trust the most, and (b) to determine our own self-given (not tyranny-given) "mandates" in regard to specific ways of living.  There is "implicit authority in the very fact of humanity's ideals."  Trying to live a good life includes practical matters such as agriculture or husbandry, or any kind of physical work.  "A man with a sheaf of corn under one arm and a sickle under the other" prospers by his labor.

A Mars-Saturn influence, Mars getting very close to Saturn in Saturn's own sign, correlates with "two crossed swords surrounded by a wreath of laurels."  There are powers of attack and defense, whether in warfare, law, or diplomacy.  We certainly need this last one.  There are "considerable powers of execution, a pointedness of speech, an incisive manner and an acute, penetrating mind."  One "cuts one's way through life by one's continuous exertions."  As reward for this one gets laurels and might also enter "a jewelry shop" there to secure elements of "personal display by which one  may cherish the rewards of one's effort."  Outer luxury preserves aspirations and fulfillments in durable form.

The diligence of the sun and Mercury both sextile Mars and Saturn is suggested by "an Indian weaving a blanket."  The individual "preserves or enhances some one of the arts or values which comprise the culture in which he finds himself."  Or is he perchance weaving "a rug" which could be "placed on a floor for children to play"?  These young ones appreciate the rug's "comfort or everyday convenience" while it gives them an opportunity for playful self-discovery and refinement.  Luna in Taurus sextile Jupiter in Pisces makes available the comforts of home for all ages.
