Moon in Cancer-->Leo    ***
/moon goes void-of-course at 5:45p PT | 8:45p ET | 12:45a(Tu) UT ** /
Moon enters Leo (no longer void-of-course) at 6:13p PT | 9:13p ET | 1:13a(Tu) UT ***

It is often amazing how closely events parallel the anciently known (discovered) meanings of the astrological positions and aspects.

On Saturday morning, in Texas, was the sad destruction of the hot-air balloon and 16 lives. The moon was in Gemini, an air sign, and quincunx Mars, planet of heat, within two or three degrees. Also, as already reported in a supplemental post, it was during a |difficult third of the week| and a lunar void-of-course period. It is as if the astrological scripting of a hot-air explosion could hardly have been more precise if concocted by an astrologer.

Later on Saturday the moon went into Cancer, a water sign, and that evening I spilled a liquid on my carpet and angrily interrupted my TV viewing to clean it up--with more liquids, water and soap. Then a neighbor came over telling about his plans to do a huge amount of laundry the next day, while Luna will still be in Cancer a water sign. Now it turns out that I intend to follow his lead and do laundry on Monday when Luna will still be in Cancer. But, more sadly,  I learn today that on Saturday evening flooding in Maryland caused considerable trouble and even a death. Water sign? Just an ancient superstition?

Monday: Personal magnetism and attraction can be intense, with fascination or attempted persuasion or seduction.

Some will be drawn to military symbols or realities. The anger over Donald Trump's reactions to a Muslim family's bereavement, after their son in the U. S. military was killed, is interesting in that Mars is in the final degree of Scorpio, sometimes a sign of death or reactions to it.

On a lighter level there can be playfulness and spontaneousness. Homey or neighborhood delights, like children swinging from a tree, could be refreshing. Like a child, some things in your life seem premature, not ready yet for fullness. Genial and social instincts could lead to self-indulgence such as a luxurious meal with wine.

Roving about in a search for new experiences is possible. There is basic optimism. Yet you are resolute in holding on to self-training, or training someone if you are in a position to do that.

A field or arbor could be lucky (for urbanites, maybe a park or yard). Material benefits could be gained in unlikely ways.
Rainbow dreams seem real rather than illusory.

Supplemental statement

Dangerous Periods to Avoid

The hot-air balloon fire and crash in Texas, which killed 16, occurred at 7:40 a.m. Central Time according to the New York Times. If you look at Saturday's forecast you will see that the |difficult third| of this week ended at 9:11 a.m. Central Time, and the moon had been void-of-course since 6:48 a.m. Central Time. The accident occurred while the moon was both void-of-course and in the |difficult third| of this week. These timings were worked out by me with considerable patient research over three decades. They are real. Frivolous things which are also dangerous, like a hot-air balloon ride, should be avoided during those periods, especially when two or more of them coincide. Prayer, meditation, and important work are "protected" during these periods. Not hot-air balloon rides.

(This is an extra notation; the weekend forecast has already been posted here.)

Moon in Gemini   ** |
/moon goes void-of-course at 4:48a PT | 7:48a ET | 11:48a UT   * / |
|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week ends at 7:11a PT | 10:11a ET | 2:11p UT   ** /

The gradual improvement above is heartening.

Although the square between Mercury and Mars--agitation, irritation, things "going wrong" or getting bollixed up to waste your time--is still with us, Mercury has moved into Virgo, its own sign and that of its exaltation. So we can cope much more intelligently.

Rustic country life may appeal to you, either in your mind if you're an urbanite, or in fact if you're countrified. You feel as imperturbable as a country singer who doesn't bother with his hair or appearance.

Friendships are possibly exalting, even new ones perhaps. Computer or technical issues are better than they have been for days.

Annoying factors are counterbalanced by quite a bit of luxury. You appreciate arts or crafts.

A sensuous person gets your attention, but not your complete trust. You look up to someone more noble, a leader.

You can bask in small glories which exalt you. You can see goals in the distance and aim at them accurately.

~Fascination; Growth of Intelligence~

Moon in Cancer   ***

It's hard to give more than three stars while Venus is moving to a square with Mars. This, however, can be, rather than bickering between the sexes, a strong stimulating attraction between them--yet something feels wrong with it. It's exciting but doesn't feel completely natural and so ends either in semi-revulsion or anger. (Hillary Clinton has this aspect in her birth chart. She has a good family life and solid marriage, but we know how rocky it was at certain points. It takes a man of a certain compliant disposition to live happily with a woman like this.)

There could be reversal or instability if you push something too far when it is merely selfish and not in synch with others' needs. All is adequate if you are patient.

You feel armored against disappointment. You also sense that others around you have a seductive, attractive power at their disposal, and so do you. There is persuasion, fascination, or magnetic puissance.

Some of your projects may be suspended temporarily. Either you don't care right now or you are slacking off. But you should be careful not to let anything really important be neglected. There will be rejuvenation eventually. Something wonderful could happen if you are alert to future potentials.

}Stress, with Hints of Glamor{

Moon in Gemini
|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week continues (until Saturday) ** |

|Karmically difficult| indeed--my computer has been cyber-attacked and is in the repair shop.

There is very little I can write on this borrowed computer, but here goes: We also have the square of Mercury to Mars, exact today. Not easy. Irritations, communication or technological problems, people speaking or acting at cross purposes. But it can be straightened out with persistent mental acumen and sharp perceptions. The mind is challenged to be at its best in the presence of pressures to perform competently. Hillary Clinton has this aspect in her birth chart, so it seems appropriate that she gave her acceptance speech during this aspect's present duration. She likes to say that she never gives up. So we need to borrow that quality from her today and for several more days.

Personally, my greatest fear at the moment is not of terrorists, but of Donald Trump possibly becoming President. I cannot imagine how he could have more than 1 per cent of the population in the polls, but he has 50 per cent. What planet are we on? This really disturbs me.

Venus approaches a trine with Uranus: Glamor, a satisfaction in whatever makes one unique, a desire to show off one's unusual qualities in a way that gets approving attention.

}Meeting Pressures with Alacrity{

Moon in Taurus-->Gemini
|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week begins at [11:27p(W) PT] | 2:27a ET | 6:27a UT   ** |
/moon goes void-of-course at 7:14a PT | 10:14a ET | 2:14p UT   * / |
until it enters Gemini at 10:18a PT | 1:18p ET | 5:18p UT   ** |

It's hard to avoid politics at this time. I prefer to avoid it when possible, but I feel deeply, apart from astrology, that the election of Donald Trump would be a disaster for the world, and he is ahead--if you can believe that--in many polls. That is an enormous danger. I am not the type to go out ringing doorbells or manning phone banks in campaigns, but I support Hillary Clinton as at this moment perhaps the only hope of the world, given the alternative. And so to help her all I can do is comment on her horoscope here, which shows a great deal about her which her detractors fail to understand. I'll be doing that as the days go on. And I wish I could make that knowledge available to far more than the couple hundred, at most, who now read these reports. That is why I complained yesterday about feeling nobody was noticing what I was saying.

Meanwhile, for Thursday: There is a huge slew of aspects. I would always love to choose the sweet ones and ignore the others, but as a friend and client told me years ago, "Your good predictions always fail and your negative ones always succeed." Because he was basically a pessimist and felt that nothing was going right in his life. But he was right in one respect: It is far easier to notice the hard aspects because they are the ones which keep us going, fighting, struggling, and winning (sometimes losing in order to learn and try again). The soft aspects are there, they sustain us, but we hardly notice them, we take them for granted. "Of course I should have no pain, enough to eat, time to sleep, etc." It is those very things the good aspects provide us, and we don't say thanks! So if I mention them, you will think I am sappy and silly.

It's a tough day! Firm up! Develop some muscle! Things are hard! Mercury is square Mars, anger, irritation, yelling and screaming, complaining and fighting! Well, probably some of that. Venus is beginning to square Mars. Your loved one is elsewhere, doesn't care, doesn't seem to even like you, disagrees with you on too much!

But that gives us strength and muscle. We develop faith and persistence.

Back to politics, I can't help it:  One thing I want to teach the world is that the reason many dislike or are suspicious of Hillary Clinton is that she has in her birth chart both of these aspects we are suffering today, Mars square Mercury (from Leo to Scorpio in her chart) and Mars square Venus (also from Leo to Scorpio in her chart). Further, Saturn and Pluto are in the square also, to both Mercury and Venus. That is not an easy chart. That is why she calls herself a "fighter" and has displayed that trait. That is why some dislike her--because she has to step on some toes to get things done, and learn over and over from her failures how to be diplomatic and still get things done. That is one reason for admiring her--she was dealt a very difficult birth-chart and developed the strength and persistence to become--I hope--the President of the United States. Pretty remarkable, and a lesson to all who complain about their "terrible" horoscopes.

So, we can't complain about today and the coming days when those two aspects shall prevail. Venus is trining Uranus, good for a certain sort of free, unbound, freedom-granting love or friendship, and the sun is trining Saturn, good for business and solid planning.

Back to Hillary, even if you are tired of the topic: Tonight is her night, when she accepts the nomination. I hope all will listen to her speech. I think that she is being set up by the good forces to win this election, but that does not mean she will win. The evil forces are there too, and they are hypnotizing millions to believe in that con artist and swindler, Donald Trump. He is a slanderer, big-time, and that is what "Devil" means in the Scriptures, according to scholars--the slanderer.

He has an easy chart! While she has a very difficult one. That shows how superficial it is to call easy aspects "good" and hard aspects "bad." Hillary would not have the strength and skill she has if she had been born with a too-easy chart, most likely. Donald's too-easy chart has made him a narcissist who thinks the world belongs to him. If it did, he might destroy it, just as he destroyed some of his own businesses by going bankrupt. His easy chart makes him over-optimistic to the point of recklessness. We do not want a loose cannon in charge of nuclear weapons.

The Mercury square Mars aspect today can be nervous and hasty, with discord and over-aggressiveness from some, or an attempt to do so much at once that one stumbles and then curses the world for one's problems. Yet it can also be a stimulus to ambition and quick settlement of things through sharply perceptive action or prowess. Not blaming anyone else would be a key to that, while just going about one's business with alacrity.

If you need a dessert in this report, it is the trine of both Venus and Mercury with Uranus, giving some smooth latitude and mutual interest in personal connections and communications. Chatting with someone intriguing, for example.

\Capacity-Expanding Allegiance/

Moon in Taurus   ***

Capacities are large and harmonious, yet there is likelihood of quarrels and broils; people are at variance. The large, all-reflecting capacities need to expand even further to encompass diverse viewpoints.

Only a firm and dependable, faithful yet reclusive mind will be able to face revenge, treachery or cruelty, rise above them and mitigate or--let us hope--abrogate them.

Allegiance to someone supernaturally compelling begins in imagination and needs patience while it works magic. Everyone needs to be believed in.

Someone has a mission, like a large ball of fire flying through the air. This could be President Obama or Tim Kaine, both to address the Democratic Convention tonight. (I recommend it.) It could also be you. Courage, strength and self-assertion display natural prowess. People have contrasting roles to play, depending on their generation and lifestyle. Those contrasts will be in evidence, but complementing rather than diminishing one another.

All are looking up to someone for light and guidance. This could be Hillary Clinton, who will not address the Convention until Thursday. The distrust many feel toward her is undeserved and unfair. The evil they think they see in her is usually something in themselves. This may become clearer to the electorate as the campaign proceeds, but ought to be evident this week to those open to true intuition. The elders of the tribe--and she is one of them at this point--bring all together in common purpose under a royal coat of arms. Perhaps the Clintons seem unlikely candidates for that role, but they are what we have.

Fidelity to established values and customs brings together all segments of society, even seemingly seamy ones. The tasks of the elect never seem to end; they have to rebegin the "fight" or task over and over. Someone you know or believe in is doing that and you shine by their reflected light. You join yourself to this individual as a crescent moon to a shining star, and thereby gain distinction and success.

P. S.  Political notes: Donald Trump was nominated (last Tuesday) while the moon was in Capricorn, the sign of its detriment, and a sign of callous selfish business (ruled by Saturn). Hillary Clinton was nominated Tuesday while the moon was in Taurus, the sign of its exaltation, and a sign of gracious femininity (ruled by Venus).

Decades ago while working on daily, weekly, and monthly charts, as a writer and forecaster for Astrology Guide published by Sterling's Magazines under the editorship of Marsha Kaplan, I decided to mark the earth signs, in the written charts (pre-computer days) in green. Now it is rather interesting that the Green Party candidate, Jill Stein, was born with seven of the ten astrological planets in earth signs! Her chart looks green (May 14, 1960). Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party is a Capricorn (January 1, 1953) while Bernie Sanders is Virgo, both earth signs. So the candidates running on the fringes are all earth-sign folks. I am not sure what that means but it is worth pondering. Maybe because financial and environmental problems are crucial. Maybe because the "greater benefic" planet Jupiter is in Virgo, in good aspect to all the earth signs.

The fantastic astrologer and a beloved friend, the late Al Morrison, used to say that no candidate nominated while the moon was void-of-course had ever gone on to be elected President. Neither Trump nor Clinton was nominated during such a time, but Trump accepted the nomination (last Thursday during his speech) while the moon was void-of-course after just squaring Mars. Hillary will accept this Thursday while the moon is on course just before sextiling the sun, ruler of her husband's sign Leo. Another circumstantial signal that perhaps she is the woman of destiny.

Bill Clinton's speech on Tuesday, effortlessly extolling his wife, was superb. He gave it while the moon was in Taurus, his birth moon-sign, and the sun in Leo, his birth sun-sign. That seems propitious for him and Hillary, a signature that the Convention timing is with them. Bill combines the folksy, down-home touch (moon in Taurus) with the magisterial, royal dignity and magnanimity of Leo.

\Adhering to Destiny/

Moon in Aries-->Taurus   ***

until it enters Taurus at 8:39a PT | 11:39a ET | 3:39p UT   ***

There is a desire to feel on top of the world, one way or another. You feel fairly secure in your position, job, or career. What you are doing is making sense to you at some level which is reassuring. Yet there could be upset or anger about some issues you care about. You will stay the course. What superiors are you wanting to satisfy? You can do that while maintaining respect for yourself also.

A tiger crouching seems treacherous but the passerby
Remembers the cross he just saw on a church steeple.
Invisibly, the king of the fairies mesmerizes a snake
Coiled around a tree. It is hot and there is work.

Rocks at the edge of a precipice are safeguards.
Above an extensive forest the sun rises while a woman
Takes a selfie with an image of her royal coat of
Arms. She knows she has a destiny to lead the world.

Yet she runs obstinately against the wind, forgetting
A better way. A star with many rings rose when she
Was born. So the tiger doesn't faze her, and she halts
Before the precipice. The heat tells her to cool it.

The king of fairies snuck into her photo while the snake
Raised its head. She trusts her quite-invisible destiny.

{Tuesday}   /Adhering to Destiny\

P. S. Some of that poem may be about Hillary, though also about you and me. I perceive that although the presidential race is going to be tough, she does have a cloak of destiny, as it were, if the good forces can prevail over the evil ones working through Donald Trump.

^Telepathic Connections^

Moon in Aries   ***
/moon goes void-of-course at 11:20p PT | 2:20a(Tu) ET | 6:20a(Tu) UT   ** /

A family neighbor or friend who is "now here, now there" may seem absent or her or his whereabouts not ascertainable. This is just part of the cycles through which this person goes.

Costs of pleasures may be negotiable or you may opt out of them because you just don't want to pay that price.

Subtle, spiritual or telepathic communications with someone could sneak up on you.

It may be fascinating to surmise how someone at a distance is living his or her intimate life and interpersonal attractions.

The loss of a friend or someone in your family is more a matter of "turning away" temporarily, on one or both sides. If this person needs help, you are there for her or him. Yet it may be hard to know what is going on.

Brilliant insights into mysterious matters come to you while thinking in privacy.

Concerns about basic security seem to be shored up with a minimum of worry.

A revengeful and treacherous man, like a tiger, waits
To spring on his prey. Beyond him a cross carved in stone
Is haloed in the sun's setting rays. A truck passes by,
Loaded with goods to be sold. What's the immediate gain?

A cat watching for prey observes, only tail wiggling.
An ostrich thinks, if at all, only of his
Notions unsupported. A man passing by with money
In each hand counts the cost of everything.

A wild boar lives in his sphere, unconquered and
Unconquerable, scorning other foolish animals.
A man on a camel riding by has many attendants.
He knows himself, warily letting all others admire.

The wild boar dreams of pleasures unknown to the world.
The stone cross will not fade away though the sun set.

~Infatuation and Insight~
Moon in Pisces
|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week continues  ** |
but ends at 9:08p PT | 12:08a(M) ET | 4:08a(M) UT  ***
It appears that you have a crush on someone! If not a specific person, perhaps it is powerful physical attractions swimming around in your mind or taking control of you at odd moments. Such obsessions or infatuations are not confined to 13-year-olds!
This is connected with Venus's position in Leo while bi-septile Mars on one side and tri-septile Neptune on the other. Intense. This is dreamy love, or peculiarly sticky lust. What to do with it? As a desire to merge with or blend with,  or influence or make an impression on someone, it is connected with the 8th house of "death or regeneration," that is, "She's to die for," "He's to die for." Funny how language echoes or mimics metaphysical astrology.
Taking this to a higher level, it could be selfless love. Marc Edmund Jones used to say "Sex warms up love," in other words, what starts out as lustful attraction and the desire to possess ends up as wanting to give to the adored one. Or something like that . . . "to die for."
Other parts of the chart suggest intense thinking about difficult matters, philosophic or religious perhaps, with a felt need to get answers or come near to them.
{Saturday} ~Infatuation and Insight~

P. S. It is not clear as I write whether Hillary Clinton will announce her Vice Presidential pick today. Interestingly enough, this is the first day that Mars will NOT be aspecting Uranus with a difficult quincunx, which has correlated with Donald Trump's dismal dwelling on violence. The moon was exactly square Mars during Trump's speech, and also void-of-course. I do not think his fearful oratory really gained him a great deal of new support. Further, today the moon is trine (rather than square) Mars, still in Scorpio, Hillary's sign, and while during Trump's speech the audience shouted "Lock her up," now with Mars under more favorable aspects she will appoint a (male, Mars) running mate. Perhaps that will be good for her. Everyone thinks it will be Tim Kaine, and when I looked at his photo I felt, "How weak and sappy he looks!" Then I checked his birthdate and he is Pisces. Oh well, it is a spiritual sign and he has been faithful to his religion, as a Catholic, and has done work in Honduras as a missionary and teacher of carpentry. He is a good-natured man, quite the contrary of Trump. We shall see how this plays out. He does not have a weak chart but one which is not so self-centered and strongly focused as Trump's, more like a chart for good relations with the public in a friendly manner.
From David Brooks in the New York Times:
Trump has replaced biblical commitments with a gladiator ethos. Everything is oriented around conquest, success, supremacy and domination. Mars in Scorpio, big-time, and the quincunx between Mars and Uranus, a contest for domination. This was the Lock Her Up convention. Lock Hillary up, of course, and she is a female Scorpio, and the female Scorpion is the one who kills. She can also be, and I believe at her best is, the Eagle. A law-and-order campaign doesn’t ask voters to like Trump and the Republicans any more than they liked Richard Nixon in 1968. Nixon had Saturn square Venus in his chart, and Trump has Saturn conjoined to Venus, almost the same thing, though with more superficial charm than Nixon apparently had.
On the other hand, there are good reasons to think that this law-and-order focus is a significant mistake, that it over-reads the current moment of Baton Rouge, Dallas and Nice and will not be the right focus for the fall.
Brooks is prescient here, because if we take Trump's law-and-order ranting as Mars in Scorpio, before long Mars will be in Sagittarius--on August 2, just after the Democratic convention. That is more international and less chauvinistic, at least potentially. Then in September we have the sextile of Mars and Venus, and Jupiter's entrance into Libra, a much more loving and "sweet" position than Jupiter in Virgo. Brooks continues:
In the first place, it’s based on a falsehood. Crime rates have been falling almost without fail for 25 years. Murder rates have been rising just recently among gangs in certain cities, but America is much safer than it was a decade ago. In the first half of 2015, for example, the number of shootings in New York and Washington hit historic lows.
Trump's super-defensive posture--I will protect us all!--is connected with his birth-chart positions of Saturn and Venus together, closely conjoined, in Cancer the sign of defense, and both square Jupiter in Libra the sign of the Other. Defense from the Other is his rhetoric. Therefore, Law and Order. G. W. Bush, a sun-sign Cancer, showed us the paranoiac tendencies of that sign, and Trump continues them. Perhaps that will shift, partially, as the campaign continues. (But I find it hard to say anything good about that man because I am convinced he is a liar and shifty con artist, no matter what his positive side may be. Not presidential material. That is not from his horoscope, which he could have used better, but from his own self-damning utterances.)

Over-reaching! Arrogance! Narcissism! (Oh, does that sound like someone we know who has been in the news of late?) With sun in Leo and moon in Aries, we think we are "It." That's okay, if you take yourself also with a sense of humor.
There is fearlessness, and a capacity to be a leader. You are aware of so many things at once that you may feel omniscient and omnipotent. (Sorry, that position has been filled.)
Courage and integrity are yours, if you accept them from your deepest nature. You emulate someone you respect deeply and admire as displaying what you yourself would like to embody.
What was self-pleasing infatuation yesterday may become, today, a need to serve or glorify the one you love or are attracted to. So that is more selfless, lifting your infatuation to an idealistic level where you care about benefiting this amazing Other who has captivated something in you.
Your have not lost your head. There is a calm steadiness and sanity, with Luna's trine to Saturn. You know the world is harsh, but that you can conquer it through discipline and penetrating intelligence--and are sure you can do it.

}Self-Respect plus Humility{

Moon in Pisces
|Karmically challenging or sobering third| of this week continues through Saturday (circumspection; wisdom in doing calmly what needs doing rather than chasing fantasms)   ** |

The report for Thursday was not posted on time--I forgot to do that although I sent it to the Yahoo group--so if you missed it you could check it now. I reported on probabilities with Trump and Clinton in regard to the moon's aspects with Mars in Scorpio, a militaristic position. Hillary is scheduled to appoint her probably militarily credible Vice Presidential pick tomorrow (Saturday).

Friday seems somewhat smooth despite the |difficult third| syndrome, which we really need to take seriously because every time I try to minimize it, it rears its ugly head to convince me again of its reality. It doesn't mean hiding under one's bed, but being circumspect and thoughtful.

Some people hide from others' ideas and insights. You may encounter one of them and find that surprising or depressing. "I know everything already; who are you to tell me anything?" is the attitude.

The militarism of the time can be, at a personal level, intrepidity in taking care of your own situation in ways which might have seemed impossible; but you are getting good. It's mobilization.

The sun enters Leo today. You may be aware of someone you respect who has labored long and hard to help the human race without much recognition--yet the recognition comes at last.

There might be aimless drift in some respects, but in others there is a current leading you to someone who intrigues you and who has a solid grasp of difficult matters even though very gracious about everything. The "drift" or laziness would counteract the mobilization  of paragraph 4, but the two trends could be harmonized.

Innate courage and sobriety in someone is impressive and shows you something deep about the cycles of time and how to live through them more merrily and less despairingly.

Someone who is a sort of pilgrim, a seeker, impresses you. The depth of his or her concerns is a weight, but one you might share willingly for the sake of mutual strengthening.

There could be prosperity in some reassuring and satisfying manner, but you are wisely wary of tossing it to the winds.

~Ambitions Edified~

Moon in Aquarius   ***
|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week begins at 5:06p PT | 9:06p ET | 1:06a(F) UT   ** |
/moon goes void-of-course at 6:57p PT | 9:57p ET | 1:57a(F) UT   * /  |

This was written and posted early Thursday in the Yahoo group but not posted here. I was very weary and forgot . . . apologies.

It is notable that the moon enters the |difficult third| just before Donald Trump will speak, accepting the nomination, and then goes void-of-course either during or just after his speech. Not propitious for him. Although in fairness, next week when Hillary speaks on Thursday, we will also be in the |difficult third| of that week, although Luna shall not go void-of-course then and indeed will make a favorable sextile to the sun in Leo, her husband's sign. It may be a Billary night.

Also, that last aspect of the moon, during Trump's speech, will be a square with Mars in Scorpio. He, Mars, the warrior, has been in that sign since May 27 and leaves it on August 2. During his presence there we have had the killings of black males by police in the U. S., the retaliatory killings of police officers (by those trained in the military, be in noted), the hugely disrupting Brexit, the killings in Orlando and Nice, and on and on. Scorpio is indeed the sign of death, from a superficial viewpoint. From a higher viewpoint (when it becomes not the Scorpion but the eagle), it is a sign of spiritual insight and regeneration. We need to get there! If we don't do it this time (we have a few more days) we will have to do it next time (December 2017-January 2018). What have you learned about violence and hatred during the past two months? What have you learned about your self-defeating urges and appetites, lusts and wrong ambitions? What have you learned about true ambition in accord with the Truth of things?

Thursday should be active, and it could be thrilling. You are aligned better with people and events so that you can both enjoy and master them. Of course there are dangers, suggested by the square between the moon and Mars, that is, quarrelsomeness and irritability. But you could transform that into an impulsive quest toward your goals, with the blessing of Mars's insight into "enemies," that is, whatever would impede your true success.

I would guess that for those at the Republican convention, all this will translate into a lively, almost sexual ecstasy or pseudo-ecstasy over their nominee and a militant desire to see him win the Presidency.

In terms of Mars in Scorpio, a militant or military position, Hillary Clinton is scheduled to announce her running-mate on Saturday, when Luna will be in Pisces and trine Mars rather than square it. That bodes well for her, especially because it is likely that she will pick a military man for her Vice President. Her short list includes James G. Stavridis, a former supreme allied commander of NATO, and Tim Kaine of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Senate. She wants someone with national security experience, which is a very Mars-in-Scorpio matter, and she is sun-sign Scorpio herself.

We can appreciate the social opportunities of this day while yet perhaps shunning some of them because of a focus on our own interests and plans.

}Extemporization with Deliberation{

Moon in Aquarius   ***

Social relations: Peaceful but separative, that is, people want their elbow room or to be at arms' length. Yet they may not feel extremely agitated, just wary. That does not preclude peace and harmony within one's own consciousness, even when with those not entirely compatible.

Career: Looking up. The Bright Hermetic Epoch lasts until August 10, and although some portions of your current agenda and prospects may seem fuzzy, there can be solid progress.

We did enough politics yesterday for two days! Tonight Mike Pence will give his speech at the Republican convention. He is Gemini, like Trump, but of course his chart is vastly different (June 7, 1959). While Trump is wild, with Uranus in high focus, Pence is conservative, with Saturn in high focus. Enough about that for now. However, I will say that I doubt their speeches tonight and tomorrow will go over extremely well, in the long term, though of course they will get a seemingly hearty response from their followers. Not so much from the general public.

Today there could be a desire for lavish entertainment and self-indulgence, though within the limits of paragraph 1. One can dream and drift. One hopes for progression in one's career (paragraph 2). There is tastefulness in one's surroundings and choices, perhaps a purchase of clothing. One expresses oneself with others through mental or skilled activities, as if playing ball. There is extemporization in career planning which could gain good results. The values of things are weighed carefully and wisely so that choices are reasonable and fruitful. Though detached, you could gain prestige through a naturally aristocratic bearing.
