Even during the difficult Saturn times there can be a sense of humor. Some may be sardonic, critical, mirthfully making fun of others and themselves. At the same time there is an undercurrent of discovery, of seeking and finding real answers, as if one were using "a mariner's compass."

Things may seem dire for yourself, someone you know, or someone you read about in the news. Hopes seem to be cut off. Of course this is temporary, for "hope springs eternal." Ambitions may seem vain or relationships unfortunate. "Seem" is the key word. When people feel abused by life they may even turn to petty or serious crime, symbolized by "a gang of robbers in hiding." Republicans may think that the "robbers" are members of the "deep state" attacking the commander-in-chief. Others will see things differently. Any of us might turn in thought or even action to antisocial or perverted practices when feeling defeated.

Freedom of spirit quenches any desire to snatch freedom from others. Being lazy, in natural simplicity, is a normal phase sometimes during a Dark or Slow Hermetic Epoch (until December 7 and specially until November 20). Contentment is a good thing, while waiting for something more satisfying to develop internally and externally.  One might turn to one's ancestors in thought. They have given you a heritage of which you may be unconscious. Still it is yours, and more if you tap into it consciously.

The twelve-hour void-of-course period suggests inefficacy because of some twist in one's thinking which makes one chase after things which don't pan out. Thus some will even resort to devices which are illegitimate or have deplorable consequences, and there's no one to blame but themselves. 

Better, one can jump on opportunities as if they were one's prey. One has planned this carefully, some would say with treachery, but to oneself it seems just plain self-interest. One should of course avoid cruelty. One is like a trader, or "a ship in full sail," exploiting opportunities which keep changing.

Faculties are strong while Mercury is stationary (just barely retrograde). One can perceive things with almost mathematical certainty. This is favorable for technological matters or research of any kind. One is serious about sitting down to map out one's fortune on physical or digital paper. Then, when one becomes successful, one is a "benefactor of society" because one's well-being and prosperity are naturally communicated to others.

P. S. Happy Halloween! The Mercury Retrograde period is upon us until November 20, three weeks. That is not all bad, of course, but can be disconcerting. I am seeing it in my own life: Doing things "out-of-pattern," as in changing one's schedule, eating habits, sleep habits, or taking an interest in things one ordinarily ignores, and so on. Recalling the past a lot, reminiscing, thinking of old friends, or reconnecting with them, and so on. All this can lead to ignoring immediate needs, sometimes, and so cause problems due to forgetfulness or "slacking off." Yet some "slacking off" is good and healthy. It's a matter of constant adjustment and readjustment, sometimes in wonderful ways which seem almost magical. I will leave out the "hard stuff" for now, but you know what it is---delays, technical glitches, etc. We can deal with it. Life goes on.

An undercurrent of treachery is mostly in our imaginations, though Democrats and Republicans think there is treachery on the other side. The symbols do not show what is necessarily there but what we feel is there. Charubel says that someone eccentric will do a great deed. 

Someone fond of change is a trader, and may do well, and travel far, not settled in one place. 

"Two men placed under arrest" could have multiple meanings. Maybe you have trouble with a government agency, but nothing is beyond resolution. Or the "two men" could be one Republican and one Democrat. At the personal level it means that there are consequences to misdeeds or wrong attitudes, so we could take heed. The "trader" of the previous paragraph may be a gambler who cannot sustain his winnings forever. "Arrest" could mean stopping and changing direction.

A penetrating mind is progressive in spirit. It needs to choose projects that will last rather than fizzle. 

For security one must have a dependable mind, and a faithful, austere character, somewhat reclusive so it can get its support from religious or spiritual studies. Or, taking this the other way, one needs to do religious or spiritual study in order to have a faithful, austere and dependable mental direction leading to success.

Those "revengeful, treacherous and cruel" are likely to be noticeable, or suffered at times, while three planets are in Scorpio (plus the moon therein until the time above). Politics has been "revengeful, treacherous, and cruel" to an unusual extent in the USA. But there are positive, liberating influences: "A naked boy, a crown on his head, a sceptre in his hand." He is innocent yet dignified, and could become great in the future. This could be a young person you know, and yourself if so you choose. 

Memory or reminiscence is a source of interpersonal pleasure when shared, as at "a Grand Army of the Republic campfire." A person who has wielded authority, like "a warrior plumed haranguing a multitude of soldiers," is moved by the group spirit which embraces both himself and his subjects. Her persuades them to noble deeds by exhortation. 

You are looking for something, researching, yet this something is as much in the past as the present or future, for it is ensconced in your memories while it inspires you to recapture it somehow. You are like "a retired sea captain" who however is contemplating fresh adventures anchored in the completed ones.

Luna is sextile Saturn and Pluto and trine Neptune. This is somewhat beneficent, perhaps good for arranging financial matters, thinking of those "dead" (of course still alive), or deep meditation.

Cancer (the sign), Paranoia, and al-Baghdadi

Al-Baghdadi, the Islamic State terrorist leader, self-executed in a U. S. raid Saturday, was sun-sign Cancer, born June 28, 1971. My friend Mona, one of the first individuals with whom I could discuss astrology intelligently, used to say, in New York City in the 1960s, "Cancers are paranoid." I didn't agree, at first, but grew to know what she meant. Cautious would be a nicer word, and of course there is a range of differences among them. But the following from Sunday's New York Times shows how Cancerian al-Baghdadi was (necessarily?) "paranoid" during his reign as head of the Islamic State from 2015 until yesterday:

"Meetings [between Baghdadi and his henchmen] lasted between 15 and 30 minutes and the ISIS chief would leave the building first. His visitors were required to stay under armed guard for hours after his exit. Then they were once again blindfolded and driven back to their original point of departure, according to aides who saw him in three of the past five years.

"“Baghdadi’s concern was always: Who will betray him? He didn’t trust anyone,” said Gen. Yahya Rasool, a spokesman of the Iraqi Joint Operation Command."

As might have been expected by those who have intelligently followed these reports for years, his self-execution occurred when he was chased down during a |Karmically serious or sobering third| of a week, namely this week, the exact times reported here on Friday and Saturday and Sunday in the reports for those three days. The moon was square Saturn (the midpoint of the |karmic third|) at 3:47 p.m. Saturday Eastern Time which would have been something like 11 p.m. in Barisha, Syria. No news source I have seen has given the exact time of the raid on al-Baghdadi. Odd. When I was in high school editing the school paper I was taught that the first paragraph should contain the what, where, and when. I guess the NYTimes editors need to go back to high school. Also, depending on the exact time, the moon probably had entered the Via Combusta (I gave the time in Saturday's report). Via Combusta, |Karmic third|, and Dark Epoch are a "triple witching" time. So it was for al-Baghdadi. Also for some in Texas who were either killed or wounded in another "domestic American" shooting, I am sorry to say. 

The Dark Hermetic Epoch, or Slow Mercury Epoch, October 11 through December 6, is a time when old things from the past are either concluded or wrapped up or somehow reckoned with, either decisively or not. The killing of Osama bin Laden on May 2, 2011, occurred during such a time--the end of that DHE was on May 10. In astrology, things hang together if you research them. If you don't research them, you see nothing. 

Added to the |karmically serious third| of the week this time was Mars being with the moon, both of them square Saturn, the moon and Mars being in the sign Libra, often a sign of "justice" or at least would-be justice. Likewise on May 2, 2011, it was Saturn that was in Libra, Venus and Mercury opposed to it from Aries. The scales of justice eventually ended these two major terrorists. But more important for us we have to remember that we are not above judgment if we ourselves judge. "Judge not that ye be not judged." It is sad that these things "have to" happen but it is not easy to assign the blame unless one is G*d. On His mercy we all must repose.

More about al-Baghdadi: I have not studied his horoscope but in the Tarot Calendar, June 28 the year of his birth comes to 18 13 15: The Moon (secret enemies sometimes), Death, and The Devil. (This according to an exact formula which I discovered years ago.) The playing card indicator is the Two of Clubs, assigned to Saturn and Uranus, not pleasant at least on the surface, unless transmuted by the individual's growth. Say Edith Randall and Evylinn Campbell of the Two of Clubs people, including al-Baghdadi: "This is the most difficult and the least cooperative of all the 2's. They put up a very aggressive and self-confident front but as a matter of fact, they fear everything--themselves included. Of all the 2's this is the least representative of Union--and the most in need of it. The well-worn term 'defense mechanism' applies to them perfectly and accounts for a tendency to contention and dispute, their sudden flashes of anger and their lack of control. It must be understood that this does not apply to individuals who are highly developed and self-disciplined but it does apply to the majority." And there is much more, in their excellent book Sacred Symbols of the Ancients, now available only used for a few hundred dollars I believe. Occultism remains occult.

We have the |karmically serious|, the Via Combusta, and the void-of-course all together for twelve hours. Not easy. We are also in a Dark Hermetic Epoch, or Slow Mercury Epoch, until December 7. You are not losing it! You may think so. People around you are not as crazy as they seem. We have to slow down, screw up our faith, do whatever we can at the spiritual level to get through the next six weeks. 

I am not making this blog a political blog. You may find it hard to believe but I am neither against nor for Donald Trump, in the way most people are, because I am an astrologer and am called upon to study his (and everyone's) horoscope impersonally. Like everyone, he seems right about some things and wrong about others. But the swirling confusion of the impeachment process is with us no matter what we may think about it, and it coincides perfectly with the Slow Mercury Epoch when things often go crazy. A decision to impeach is expected from the House by November 21, just before the sun enters Sagittarius, and the trial in the Senate is expected to complete by December 23 just after the sun enters Capricorn. It's as if the planets are planning all this. I make no predictions. It is interesting that Steve Bannon, born with three planets in Scorpio (sun-sign Sagittarius), started his WarRoom.org daily Internet radio show (video to come) exactly when the sun entered Scorpio. And just after the Dark or Slow Epoch began, in which there is an emphasis on untangling past tangles. He is trying to make the best case possible for Trump. As for the best case possible for the anti-Trumpists, all the major media (except Fox) are making it. I take neither side but find it essential to hear both.

No extended forecast for Sunday this week. I take a day off on Saturday.

We are all learning how to navigate the |difficult third| of each week, which hits the weekends for almost the rest of this calendar year. This time one challenge will be using our faculties and abilities in a useful, advantageous way, rather than running off in pursuit of things we might enjoy (but probably will find far less than satisfying). Vain and illusive projects do not seem illusive and vain while we are obsessed with them. Later we see that they were pointless when we get a better view of "the fitness of things." 

Another issue is at the emotional level, where we could become cramped and misanthropic because of disappointments in love. Affections feel insecure, so there could be bitterness and resentment. One remedy is remembering that Divine Love is omnipresent and all-powerful. That may seem unreal until we realize it through prayer, meditation and aspiration. Then we sense how the circles of our own interests are congruent with the circles of someone else's interests, no matter how disparate they seem at times. Our orbits are different yet harmoniously interwoven at various points. This is reassuring.

The fine arts are important. They illustrate and interpret the soul's finer emotions. This could be music or drama, a movie or literature, as long as it is free of (or transcends) anything disquieting or distressful. Someone extraordinary and influential may demonstrate such cultivated refinement and harmony for your appreciation.

The symbols for the day bear out our |karmic or sobering third| prognosis, but in a way which is spiritually uplifting. "An old man seated beneath a shady tree, his head bowed in thought. A pilgrim." This shows solitude but not misanthropy. The "pilgrim" see through the shifting phantasmagoria of human activities and hopes, and trusts the Eternal, sensing the true but relative value of lesser things. Charubel says that "he commands respect without assumption," is moral and intellectual and makes a mark in the world through a variety of gifts and force of character. 

What are "forlorn hopes"? They are restrictions we have accepted, intentionally or unintentionally. Rather, we could escape resentment and jealousy by trusting simple good judgment. When following "circular paths" we do not have to be led back to something painful, but make them "spiral paths" approaching something wonderful from the past which relives in us at an even more refined level. There is a congruity of our circle with the circle of anyone who is or has been  a true friend.  

If we follow our history-compelled behavioral trajectories unconsciously we are bounced down a mountainside, our hopes then "forlorn." It is necessary to gain control of our lower nature, like "a man in the garb of a doctor of the monastic order." This is spiritual search. It leads to internal peaks of transcendental awareness.

One feels determined, individualistic, reserved, and not caring a fig what people think. "The public be darned!" shows that you believe in yourself more than puerile common opinion. Further, you have a mystical streak, feeling melancholy about things or people gone from you but able to penetrate intro their essence, their meaning for you and continued existence, in an occult manner. 

"A noon siesta" hints that in this Dark Hermetic Epoch, or Slow Mercury Epoch (until December 7), we go "out of pattern" frequently or could take naps at unplanned times. We recuperate somehow from stress, doubt, and fretful planning. We could venture into the earth, in dream or reality, seeking something as if "at the bottom of a ravine, with lamp in hand looking for something." Did you ever collect rocks, stones, crystals or gems? 

You spurn restraints and want to feel utterly independent. Philosophers and psychologists will say this is not possible, and may be right, but you trust that particular Something in you which is divine. So you appear as "a buffalo pawing up the ground and snorting." What you care about is having just enough to be a guardian of those you hold dear, enjoying a long life while shedding benevolence on those younger, like "a white-headed man surrounded by happy children."

It's possible to study and research things with good success. This is true during this whole Dark or Slow Hermetic Epoch (October 11 through December 6); perhaps specially today. Being an industrious investigator could have good results. 

A different trend is toward the manly, even chauvinistic delights of life, someone or yourself rising to the occasion as self-defensive, headstrong and quick-tempered. Such individuals get respect even from those opposing them and are seen as champions by their friends.

A softer attitude is manifest in some, represented by "a heart." They are affectionate, confiding, and unselfish, easily  influenced by others. They are lucky if they gravitate toward someone noble, with pure intentions, who triumphs over obstacles and puny foes .

There is a desire for approbation and popularity, "a man climbing a Maypole to procure a crown of flowers." With this goes the enchantment of "children blowing soap bubbles." Being childlike is possible without being childish. Manifesting good will, we can maintain touch with "a transcendental magic of being."

^Thoughtful Effort, Congenial Enchantment^

"Three mounds of knowledge on a philosopher's head" is wonderfully suggestive of high and insightful thinking. Whether this be through a Socratic or Hegelian dialectic, or the peculiar threefold logic of the American philosopher Charles Peirce, or something that just comes to you, it could be fascinating. It includes musing on those long gone from the material world, because "a woman is sitting on a tombstone in the act of weeping." In a sense, sensitive and sympathetic, she enjoys the sobbing, for it brings back those she loves sharply and poignantly.

You may spend time working in seclusion, as if the owner and operator of "a Chinese laundry," just doing what you have to do and waiting for a later reward. This does not prevent you from having fun at other times or in other ways, like "children blowing soap bubbles." Life's sheer enchantment is ours to appreciate if we open ourselves to it.  

Sometimes the moon's square with Venus indicates attraction or seduction which goes nowhere but is titillating while it lasts. "A woman is charming snakes, one of which is entwined around her neck." She braves dangers to get control of others' feelings or passions, and may succeed, but poisoned love or disabling jealousy could be a result. However, we are at "a houseboat party," so much may be forgiven. This is creative relaxation in a pleasant pocket of life, adventure evoking congeniality.

P. S. As for the "three mounds of knowledge on a philosopher's head," here is something about the philosophy of Charles Sanders Peirce, considered the founder of American pragmatism, which he called pragmaticism to distinguish it from the philosophies of James and Dewey: 

Merely to say that Peirce was extremely fond of placing things into groups of three, of trichotomies, and of triadic relations, would fail miserably to do justice to the overwhelming obtrusiveness in his philosophy of the number three. Indeed, he made the most fundamental categories of all “things” of any sort whatsoever the categories of “Firstness,” “Secondness,” and “Thirdness,” and he often described “things” as being “firsts” or “seconds” or “thirds.” For example, with regard to the trichotomy “possibility,” “actuality,” and “necessity,” possibility he called a first, actuality he called a second, and necessity he called a third. Again: quality was a first, fact was a second, and habit (or rule or law) was a third. Again: entity was a first, relation was a second, and representation was a third. Again: rheme (by which Peirce meant a relation of arbitrary adicity or arity) was a first, proposition was a second, and argument was a third. The list goes on and on. We don't call people "derelicts" any more, and wisely so. But it really means someone who has abandoned life, is "derelict" in duty or ambition. However, to the "derelict" one, it seems that life has abandoned him, that the world is "derelict." In any case he may feel like "a battered hulk lying upon the seashore." However, there are always warnings before one gets in such a condition, "rock formations at the edge of a precipice." One endures what one has to endure, and at some moments there are sudden warnings that one must change course to avoid disaster. Yet risks are necessary, and one must accept challenging difficulties.  

One considers one's "position in the world." "Humanity seeking to bridge the span of knowledge" means that one realizes that knowledge is one factor in one's position. But "a woman standing on the head of a serpent" is a sort of sagacity disguised as feminine weakness, fascinating power (the power of fascinating someone). Rationality plus such emotional seductiveness can advance toward goals with exaggerated confidence.

Work in seclusion is a keynote. This is indeed labor, yet has a spiritual satisfaction within it, and promises remote rewards. At last the "miners emerge from the mine" and escape with what they have earned. Dogged effort develops strength of character as well as ultimate material gain.  This last has something childlike about it.

~Grace's Path to Humaneness and Honor~

Cruel people are usually cowards because they hurt only the defenseless. Sometimes they are employers, a step above slave owners. As for yourself, you may feel you are inured to arduous and simple work, and that is just the way it is. Service is pointed out by all great spiritual teachers as a path to the Divine. That is not always the same as submitting to obvious exploitation, but if that should be one part of one's journey on the path one probably cannot escape it. It is slow release from karma through humble dharma.

The "professor peering over his glasses" is a different breed, seeking combat with his academic peers as part of his professional calling. Such intellectual strife is not meaningless if it leads to clearer and finer perceptions in all who partake of it. Or, if it is just overbearing eccentric contention, it has no reward but transitory highs for the ego.

At a deeper level we may come to appreciate "A cup or goblet from which rays of ruddy light are emitted." Then we are eager to befriend and comfort those in distress, rising toward spiritual loftiness and humaneness.  Then we may perceive that we have unknowingly, through divine grace, arrived at a position of honor and power.

P. S.  As I have reported, the current Dark Hermetic Epoch, or Slow Mercury Epoch, or Inward Epoch, or Epoch of Review and Reconstitution, began October 11th and extends through December 6th. It has various phases. We have been in what is often the least intense phase of it for nine days and now on Sunday we enter the next more-intense phase, because beginning today Mercury is moving slower than the sun (that is, slower than the sun seems to be moving because of our orbit around it). I am already feeling the symptoms. They are good! If we learn to use them for good. If I awaken people to this one fact of astrology, or to the fact of the weekly |Karmically serious or sobering third|, I will have accomplished something worth doing. We need to learn how to use these difficult periods for good. Being aware of them allows that much more effectively! 

I have written so extensively about what the Dark Hermetic Epoch means, over the past 20 years (these reports began in 1999), that I really ought to go back and copy here some of what I have written. What I notice right now is: A tendency to think about the past, about people who are no longer in your life, as if they were still with you. A tendency to do things "out of pattern," to eat at different times than usual, maybe sleep at different times, manipulate your schedule in new ways, and so on. A tendency to want to figure out something new which has to be based on studying the past (as all study is based), and so a tendency to ponder, muse, research, and so on. All these things are good. We just need to learn to be awake while we are doing them so nothing gets out of kilter. For example, using different schedules in your work, if possible, can be good. But quitting a job might be very bad, except in unusual circumstances. Usually it is better to struggle on with one's current situation rather than "bail." The same with a relationship, and so on. There will be more to say about this during the next six weeks . . .

Focusing on one thing at a time is a wise thing to do, maximizing courage and strength. 

Either your home or a place which feels like home is lovely, granting peace and comfort to yourself and others. It's a refuge shedding benevolence over all.

Honors you expected might seem snatched from you, yet you remain honorable, restrained and hopeful. It is good to protect oneself and one's domain, yet to do this without being defensive at every moment. "A small cottage surrounded by a thicket" shows that one has a natural defense within oneself when one's attitude is harmonious.

When feeling lost (void-of-course), we might revert to the essence of the sign Libra wherein our Sol is residing for another seven days. This is artistic, "Three old masters hanging in an art gallery," and such artistry, whether visual, musical, or expressed in the competitive body-artistry of sports, brings our lives into accord with other lives and the universe. 

There is something distinctive about the way we do things, and the things which capture our interest. "A third wing on the left side of a butterfly" gives the flavor of something seemingly useless or "in the way" which yet could be not only harmless but lend some special charm to living in an odd manner. 

If there is a warning, it is in this: "A drowning man rescued." Yet there is ultimate safety. "Drowning" could be a metaphor for "drowning in drink" or "going up in the smoke of Cannabis" or any other destructive habit or addiction. We find safety from that in our own good sense and perhaps the help of someone else or the ideals we have cultivated. The Supreme Lord is always available when we turn out attention That way.

I can't predict your love life, but the opposition of Venus with Uranus over the past few days has, for many, been a "downer," with separation from the object of one's affection because of differing styles or interests. Maybe that will get better today thanks to the degree Charubel symbolizes by "A figure known as 'the true lover's knot."" He says this is affection given freely and nobly, but unreciprocated. Oh well, maybe this is not a cure for the problem at all. Unless one joys in being nobly loving. "The clear blue sky covered with stars" shows a wanderer, an astronomer, an explorer who makes discoveries. (And has a secret love who doesn't even think about him?)

The symbols are colorful:  "A child and a dog with borrowed eyeglasses." These two can peer into any world they choose, and get true or distorted intimations of what is going on. It may not matter that their naive view of things is not technically accurate if it leads them to colorful actions. "An old man attempting vainly to reveal the mysteries" has exactly the opposite problem: He can see accurately what others cannot but he cannot bring them to see it. Maybe the child and the dog would understand him!

Research into nature, chemistry, any science, may interest you; or research into financial possibilities; through patient, systematic observation or tabulation. 

Someone sarcastic, critical and deceptive is not malicious but playful. He or she may simulate others' styles humorously as if wearing masks and changing them capriciously. (Or this could be someone in a book or movie.)

"A blazing fireplace in a deserted home" is a haunting autumnal symbol, with the keyword Guardianship. You may think of a home you had years or decades ago, or imagine how it would be to abandon your current one. You guard the security of your domain. Finally, "A fellowship supper" suggests sharing life with someone, or a group, in a way which emphasizes the fraternal and sororal tendencies of humanity.

There's a lot of liveliness in the day, with the Full Moon,  plus the sun exactly sextile Jupiter and square Pluto. Although the |difficult third| makes us serious, we feel there are high prospects and so are hopeful.

Still, you may sometimes feel you are in a lowly position because some projects fell through and your progress seems slow. Yet on the mental and spiritual plane you may be achieving a mastery of which you are partly conscious. Self-government is one of the great secrets. It prepares one for the Magnum Opus. Then complicated problems are solved, and there is renovation.

You are alert to your mental laziness, when it crops up, and can immediately get yourself back to doing something which will bring smooth consummation in all areas, including personal relationships. People's differences are a challenge toward love and understanding. Pressing on the gate of seeming disagreement opens it into the garden of desire.

This is the first day of a Dark Hermetic Epoch, or Slow Mercury Epoch, lasting until December 7

Yes, it could be difficult, with Mercury slowing down and the moon void-of-course. And Saturday and Sunday will be |karmically serious| days. We had better calm down, reduce expectations, be glad to be alive, and do what is essential while praying for orientation in accord with the Divine Will and Plan.

Some "secret notion" we hold on to stubbornly might be actually mistaken and cause trouble for us. "Cleanse thou me from secret faults" prayed the Psalmist. 

There could be impatience with paperwork or calculations. Yet spiritual meditation could be uplifting.

Laboring hard is not what we want but even on a Friday may be necessary. 

Interpersonal relations can be dicey with Venus opposite Uranus, but her sextile with Saturn helps us to find "Faith, Hope, and Charity."

People obviously have differing opinions and yet we can state our own without that being utterly pointless or superficial. If it produces no obvious result, still it clarifies our ideas.

Those whose anger seems lasting are nevertheless human and susceptible to more gentle vibrations and so a sweet, kindly yet persuasive approach might work. 

In regard to career, it may seem that nothing works, that people oppose you at every turn. You are doing something which helps others but gets little recompense. Yet you are improving your techniques and that in itself is a benefit.

You desire to do something unusual. You seek beauty and perhaps the opposite sex, or the same sex if that is your predilection.  The symbol "An ancient signboard before an inn" suggests a place where you can relax and find something stimulating. Some things increase their value over the years. Even then you may be thinking of something you want to straighten out in your job or a project.

We feel our way as if through a bog,  with Luna conjoined to Neptune and square Jupiter. However, we are clever (Luna trine Mercury, sextile Saturn and Pluto) and we more-or-less comprehend the differing characters of differing individuals as discerned through body language or actual language whether in person or online.

People feel constrained to protect those they care about by defending them in one way or another. If this is through verbal means they may seem like "a man distributing papers among a multitude of people" who is a partisan enthusiast or reformer, though maybe superficial. When rising to real passionate defense of those he loves he is at his best. 

Deep philosophic thought is mysterious and abstruse. A valid perspective sees into the changefulness of human beings and senses their true value, apart from illusions. This is not pessimistic or misanthropic but sobering and calming. Then there can arise a supervening mood which is hospitable and open-handed, rejoicing in sharing with friends.

"A man or woman teaching the true inner knowledge" is available to us, with Sol sextile Jupiter. We choose such a teacher or guru according to our affinities with each of them. Then we proceed to "A house-raising" or communal helpfulness. This smooths over our differences in common enterprise and cooperation.
