~A Broader, More Patient Viewpoint~
A nebulous quality to things suggests that you can relax today. Your work goes smoothly and may seem part of the relaxation. You may enjoy music, dreaming, meditating, and prayer. Such upliftment does not interfere with your work.
Long-term delays in connection with friendship mean that you need to be patient with friends, as they with you. It is likely that some important companionship will be latent or dormant for a long time, even months, or a year or more.
Losses have affected your career and make you feel that you are reconstructing it gradually. If you recall past gains, that will help you face the present, for what has happened before can happen again. But direct planning or decision concerning your job could be on hold. The fact that others, and businesses, are unsure about their financial plans makes it hard to be decisive.
Pleasures happen as if unplanned. They are easygoing. You need not seek them but coast into them when you "go with the flow."
Health matters and psychological maladjustments, related to each other, may be susceptible to amelioration when you interact with people more straightforwardly, trying to hide nothing, over the next week or more. You could be wondering, "When will pleasure, satisfaction, friends and happiness come into my life?" and feel that it could be a long way off. The ideal of paradise on earth sometimes seems a cheat, and yet if we look around honestly, and consider how our lives could be if we were in prison or slavery, we have to admit we are lucky indeed.
Today and perhaps tomorrow (Thursday) could be the best "paradise" or party days this week, because as has been the case, Friday and Saturday will be the |more difficult or disturbing| phase of the week. However, I have said that things might be better on Saturday, and that could be true especially later in that day, though still muted. It will be a transition day, and Sunday the 4th plus Monday (still a holiday in the U.S.) quite nice, so I would save the big parties for those two days.
There is no reason to hold back from connecting with a friend or friends today. You could find a comfortable accommodation with one of more of them, concerning even difficult or tricky matters requiring sacrifice or adjustment on one side or both.
Lazy pleasures could be enjoyable, but it would be better to make them as social as you can.

You have in mind some ideal career or some ideal supervisor or teacher, and wish you could live up to the ideal you have absorbed. It is well to handle financial and business details quietly, simply, and smoothly. You seem to be arriving at a peak in your career, or are able to handle it with great finesse. Every four months I have to say--I feel it incumbent upon me--at the time of the conjunction of Mercury with the sun during the Bright Hermetic Epoch--that this is a good time to write down your current priorities and agendas, because you are likely to be securely correct about them. You might be wrong about some, but you are more likely to be correct now than you will during the Dark Epoch beginning August 1, and perhaps even closer to the truth than you will be during July when the Bright Epoch is still with us but starting to fade, as it were. Actually because of other aspects, July may be better than June for straightforward achievement, this time; still, since Mercury is right with the sun Sunday and Monday (27th-28th), this could be a perfect time to sort out your priorities for July through September and get some semblance of stability in them. What have you realized about your life and plans this weekend and today (Monday)? This could be important. Trying to articulate it could be very helpful.
There is much to-do and confusion about writing, reading, publishing, study, learning, and education. This will impact teachers and students very powerfully, and also those who do much study, writing, teaching or publishing, or who do research whether in traditional ways or on the Internet. It is as if all presuppositions are being re-studied to decide whether they hold up or, if not, need to be modified. This could have to do also with disagreements about work methods or the manner in which projects are carried out, or differences in therapies or methods of correcting physical problems. Answers can be found if one sorts through all the possibilities carefully and trusts one's innate intelligence to choose. Postponing that choice is not likely to help. Now is the time.

Friday's long report still holds, since I was discussing mostly long-term aspects. So you ought to read or re-read it.
Of the two weekend days, Sunday is better or smoother or more to your liking, most likely. Then the moon gets away from exacerbating the Grand Square, which it does Friday and Saturday.
So, to those who asked when the Grand Square would ease up, the nicest answer is, Sunday. However, it remains; so by a ten-degree orb it will relax further by--believe it or not--July 4, which may be a nicer holiday this year than usually.
The moon in Capricorn both days of the weekend keeps you thinking of practical or useful things you can accomplish.
You may feel held back by finances. This is not a particularly good shopping weekend, so holding back from large purchases would be wise.
As for entertainment, I would say, stick close to home. You will save time and frustration. Your neighborhood is not such a bad place, or somewhere nearby easily accessible.
Organizing possessions at home is satisfying and therapeutic.
Health could be affected too much by worries. So many things, even at the seemingly physical level, have psychosomatic origins. As many of our hardy ancestors knew, getting right with G*d solves problems.
As for your primary human relationship, if you have one, it seems quite smooth. "Comfortable as an old shoe" may not flatter the loved one yet could be accurate. It must be hard for some of you to believe in the Bright Hermetic Epoch, extending to the end of July, considering the difficulties you are probably having. That is because of the Grand Square which is very persistent, involving four slow-moving planets. As the sun and Mercury move away from it---gradually, making an escape early in July (during the first two weeks of that month), it will no longer be a Grand Square but a T square, and that will relieve some of the pressure. Right now, the Grand Square, also called a Grand Cross, might feel somewhat like a crucifixion. It is not surprising that President Obama's rating in the polls has reached its lowest. Whoever might be President at this time, regardless of party or policy, would be facing the same decline in popularity, because no human being could lift the Grand Cross from the heavens.
This is not to say that human beings are not responsible for the Afghan mess, or the Gulf of Mexico mess, or the immigration mess, or the financial regulation mess. They are, and not the stars; but the heavenly setup is a crucial (note how that word is related to "cross") test. None of us can pass it with flying colors. Which is why the Christian doctrine that we cannot be saved by our own efforts, skills or virtues is correct. We need Divine Grace, and those who didn't believe that before may be brought to their knees until they do.
Therefore, I am very humble about these reports at this time. I felt, today, as if I ought to say nothing; give up. Throwing in the towel is a temptation at such a time. It appears that that is what General McChrystal did, since he certainly must have known what would happen when he approved (as he did) that article for publication. I do not blame him, or anyone; nor the President, nor anyone; we are all fallible and, when it comes down to it, frail. The greatest hero needs to slump into slumber every day if he is not to lose his strength. (General McChrystal had reduced his to four hours a day, which might have been part of his problem.) Here, I can only say things which might (or might not) help. It's tough for all of us.
Friday does not reduce the pressures. It is not an easy day. If you sail through it happily, thank the Supreme Lord (and perhaps the lucky stars in your own horoscope) because most of us are being tested up to the limits of our endurance.
And I hope that knowledge will help you, by showing you that whatever you are going through is not necessarily all your fault, but part of the bigger imbroglio the human race is struggling with.
One brighter light in all this is Neptune's trine with Mercury. Reading the Scriptures (whatever your religion) is strong and effective medicine. A half hour or hour of that might be worth more than anything else you could do at a time like this.
Another good aspect is the sun's sextile with Mars from Cancer to Virgo. Putting order in things around you is therapeutic. Organizing or cleaning the home, shop, kitchen, office, bathroom, garage or workshop is tantamount to putting harmony into one's body and mind.
It's a little too early for some of the larger plans you have in mind. I usually don't say that during a Bright Epoch, but today is the center of the |difficult or troubling third of the week|. You can work at what is basic, but postpone what is more ambitious or harder to implement.
Financial gains are more a matter of hope than reality for now. Patience!
Partnership or marriage is caught up on misunderstandings and differences in methods. There is separation because of work, health or obligations.
Travel plans might be inspiring to think about, but not ready to grasp directly.
Your career may seem on hold. You can maintain but not advance it.
Something you can do at home which is therapeutic, such as exercise, could be helpful. Or the ordinary tasks already recommended.
It is not impossible to have some happy times with companions, as long as you are easy-going on them and don't expect too much. Age difference may be significant but not an obstacle.
The Full Moon arrives during the wee hours of Saturday. This makes for heightened consciousness and spiritual insight. Your trust in people may be at a low point, as well as your get-up-and-go, so meditative pursuits could be your best recourse.

The greatest hero needs to slump into slumber every day if he is not to lose his strength. (General McChrystal had reduced his to four hours a day, which might have been part of his problem.) Here, I can only say things which might (or might not) help. It's tough for all of us.
Friday does not reduce the pressures. It is not an easy day. If you sail through it happily, thank the Supreme Lord (and perhaps the lucky stars in your own horoscope) because most of us are being tested up to the limits of our endurance.
And I hope that knowledge will help you, by showing you that whatever you are going through is not necessarily all your fault, but part of the bigger imbroglio the human race is struggling with.

It's a little too early for some of the larger plans you have in mind. I usually don't say that during a Bright Epoch, but today is the center of the |difficult or troubling third of the week|. You can work at what is basic, but postpone what is more ambitious or harder to implement.
Financial gains are more a matter of hope than reality for now. Patience!

The two sides, or two heads of this multiple conflict we call “the Afghan war” (think about it: who is fighting whom? Can you even answer that question?), represented perhaps by Vice President Biden on one side and General McChrystal on the other, are going to have to look beyond their usual presuppositions to find a way out. Not a way of solving Afghans’ problems for them, the problems of a multiple culture with multiple tribes, but a way of extricating the U. S. from a situation in which it has no business. Well, you say, there is El Qaeda. True; incompetent terrorists fighting among themselves who are being repudiated by their own people and probably would be repudiated more starkly and effectively if the U.S. were not stirring up support of them by its interference. (I didn’t say “Do nothing”; I am saying “Do something that makes sense.”)
Rash acts and words, indicated by Jupiter conjoined to Uranus in Aries the warrior sign, have their inevitable comeuppance. Cosmic Piper's demise was reported prematurely, by himself---yesterday. I had a terrible day, which I blamed mostly on the moon in the Via Combusta (Burning Way), and was at a point of near-despair when I wrote my non-forecast for Tuesday. Then, in the evening, everything got better and I had a nice time. Re-reading my report for the day, I found it was mostly true, for myself, if the evening is included in the day as of course it must be, and I received a vote of confidence from one reader.
So a reminder: Do not be so sure that the forecast for a given day is wrong until you have come to the end of the day and reviewed it.
I think I was psychically, subconsciously, aware yesterday that "something was brewing" which it usually is during the monthly Via Combusta period. The Burning Way plus Scorpio, a water sign, brews a fateful cup of tea one might wish to spurn. As things turn out, it looks like General Stanley McChrystal will be drinking it.
The moon left the Via Combusta, for another 25 days or so (the circuit of the moon through the zodiacal, not the synodic, zodiac is about 26 or 27 days, and the moon stays in the Via Combusta a little more than two days; you can do the math) on Tuesday at 7:46a PT | 10:46a ET | 2:56p UT. Just before that, the Rolling Stone article quoting McChrystal and his cronies was made public, or at least the crucial excerpts, and the public brouhaha began. So you see, the Burning Way is not a fiction. The Iraq invasion was begun by the U.S. during a Burning Way period. It has a lot to do with warfare, or kicking over the traces, or trouncing someone, or destroying oneself. To many, McChrystal's approval of this damning article for publication (http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/17390/119236) looks like an act of self-destruction. Unless, of course, as a canny Leo, he knew exactly what he was doing. We shall see.
Obviously Wednesday will be a crucial day for two Leos at least, Obama and McChrystal. The sign of drama is certainly staging a fascinating drama for us, wittingly or unwittingly. One Leo has power over the career and future of another. Skeptics who believe that the military has usurped control of its supposed civilian commander-in-chief might ask, which has power over which?
I do not predict that. To me, astrology is for deeper understanding of what happens rather than for predicting what happens (except in a general way as I do here). I have worked out daily charts which "work" for the twelve signs of the zodiac, just as conventional sun-sign forecasts are supposed to work (but seldom do). Don't ask me how to calculate them, I shall not tell. But in that chart for Wednesday Saturn is at the top of the chart, on the very cusp of the 10th house of career and public standing, for Leo (all those born with the sun in that sign). Obviously either Obama or McChrystal, or both, are going to have a career crisis Wednesday. It is, shall we say, interesting. I make no prediction. Something tells me that Obama will find a way of keeping McChrystal on and still maintaining an image of his power over the military. I could be very much wrong, however, and this could be the firing which many are anticipating, some with glee.
You personally may be much concerned with people you have spurned or who have spurned you. There is a sadness in human relations, whether those thought of are living or "dead".
Military and other honors--badges and stickers and diplomas--are pretty artificial. What is a man or woman worth? Would you look on the wall behind his or her desk?
To play chess you need to see the board from your opponent's viewpoint as well as your own. That is going on. Thereby intelligence is increased. (Although I am not sure that chess players increase their intelligence in other areas of their lives. There is much evidence to the contrary.)
People are looking beyond warfare, beyond the two sides (or three or six or a dozen sides in Afghanistan) toward something which is better. It's about time.
Let us pray that neither the President nor his general nor anyone else involved in this imbroglio will lose his head and act rashly. That gives momentary satisfaction through vengeance; but does not promote the long-term welfare of anyone. (I am on neither side; I am on the side of whatever will end stupid warfare.)
Whatever may happen, in some hidden area of your life you are happy and feeling that things are on an even keel.
The very unpredictability of children in their growing-and-learning process accents their free individuality. You may sense and approve of that in those around you as well as yourself. We have to be free to find ourselves, and free to find ourselves in others and others in ourselves.

As I survey the day I have had, late Monday afternoon, I surmise that the only thing I said about Monday which was accurate was that the moon was in the Via Combusta and so there would be a loss of morale. Check.

The moon in the Via Combusta Sunday and Monday is, as usual at such a time, a matter of lower morale, a need to boost confidence in your most-basic allegiances (especially those you regard as spiritually compelling). Otherwise you may feel lost. Luna leaves that section of the zodiac before noon on Tuesday (later in the Eastern Hemisphere).
“Loss of morale” can come out as distrust of those whom you have trusted in the past. This can be an insidious erosion of confidence. It is wise to arrest that before it eats away at true loyalties.

When ideals seem to fail, there is always humor. It grants release. Winking and laughing at human failures is a way we reassure ourselves that everyone can really do better. Can’t we?
Humor is certainly better than cruelty or violence, though barbed wit can hurt. Mocking the loved one is sometimes okay, but do be careful.

It seems to be a high-pressure day, and a day for pulling into yourself. Some things may seem overwhelming but they constitute an opportunity to sort out what is most important to you.
Today and Saturday are the |malaise or difficult third of the week|. "Malaise" in the figurative sense is a discomforting need for readjustment. It requires you to tamper down desires and ambitions. You hold on to what you have and derive comfort from that. If the physical weather is not difficult at these times, the psychic or psychological weather is.
(This weekly period is moving gradually earlier so that by late July and August it will be more like Thursdays and Fridays.)
You do have ambitions and plans, but the best way to fulfill them now is quietly and calmly, by sticking with the basics, the essentials. Trying for an opportunity where others are involved or required could go amiss. They may be worried about their own plans and hopes and so indifferent to yours.
An exception could be if you are on a mission of mercy, which abrogates hard karma and gives everyone some uplift.

I recommend re-reading Friday's report. Not a whole lot has changed in the interim. Basic aspects remain the same.
The New Moon of Gemini occurs Saturday at 4:16a PT | 7:16a ET | 11:16a UT. The hours before that, and immediately after, are often lackluster or transitional, requiring a relaxed and open rather than intense and focused approach. In other words, Saturday is more a calm and meditative day than an exciting one. Well, except for those who get worked up over the World Cup. Maybe I will watch the England-U.S. faceoff at a local pub. The trend during the "difficult third" is too often people trying hard to have fun but not really, deeply, enjoying it. So keep some project or interest in mind or on a sidebar to turn to when you are bored with strained fun-making.
Sunday should be less touchy and perhaps more enjoyable. The |difficult or sensitive third of the week| ends Sunday at 4:39p PT | 7:39p ET | 11:39p UT. This should give us the feeling of a new era in which things sail along more smoothly, since we also have a New Moon to back us up.

[I didn't post a message for Thursday because Wednesday was a very busy day for me.]
So much going on! The summers over the past several and future quite-a-few years are full of the quincunx aspect, because the slow-moving planets Pluto and Neptune are off in the winter portion of the sky so that if they are not opposed by the summer planets (sun, Venus, Mercury and usually Mars) they are "quincunxed" to use a barbarian word. This is a transitional aspect, requiring readjustment. Oh boy! you must be thinking. More of that. Okay, maybe with astrology everything is readjustment. I struggle to find words. I take account of these usually subliminally and do not mention them directly. There are more of them now than ever before this year. When two of them hit on one planet, it is called a Yod. There is a Yod now with Venus and Saturn hitting on Neptune. This accentuates psychic awareness. You may be alert to coincidences, involving both the living and the so-called dead, who are more alive than we imagine.
Another focus is study and learning, which can be demanding but also deeply satisfying and even thrilling. You are not content with the superficial.
Today is the day of the "dying moon" approaching the sun in Gemini for Saturday's New Moon. It may be good to slow down, keep to yourself or get extra rest.
And yet, with Venus moving closer and closer to her sweet trine with Uranus and Jupiter, there can be a happy social atmosphere. There is something at least which every person is feeling high about. So you will find people more smiley and friendly than one might expect with all the other pressurizing aspects going on, such as Mars square Mercury, which is controversy. Really this can be a constructive aspect if used to sharpen one's perception, awareness and skill. Learning, and expressing learning, are an investment in the unknown for the sake of the known.
Sometimes there is a feeling of "too much" to do or organize; yet with Mars in Virgo you have a will-to-organize and so can put things in order, both materially in house or office and mentally in thinking and planning. What you can't do can be on the side palate, what you can do on the workbench.

In addition you are thinking about people with whom you are connected toward mutual objectives. This could be a group to which you belong which is struggling to make its mark in the world.
You may feel that there has been if not deliberate deception then confusion or lack of definition in the approaches of those with whom you must work. Yet this seems to be on its way to resolution. When you give people time and freedom they will give the same to you. Other individuals, who disappear mysteriously, maybe are not for you. Sometimes it is better to let them go. The memory of what they have meant to you will be back in the next Dark Epoch. The Bright Epoch is not a time to cling to the past. (Neither is it a time to reject it, of course.)
As I write, fifteen minutes before Market close on Tuesday, it is evident that my prediction for the day--"Mercury's trine with Saturn in earth signs could signify a calming of the financial markets . . . "--was correct. Equity indicators such as the Dow and S&P indexes are up for the first day in a week, and also the Global Dow.
That trend ought to continue today (Wednesday), or at least a good trend for your individual money decisions and sales or purchases. Past strategies you had thought out are proving reliable, and that is a relief. Ordinary shopping is also favored.
It's a nice, fruitful, sunny pre-Summer Spring time full of enjoyments and pleasures. With the moon in Taurus sextile Venus in Cancer, it could be the day or evening for a lawn party, picnic or other shared meal in the company of congenial ones. The weekend will not be as favorable for that.
With Mercury sextile Jupiter and Uranus, it is a superb time for business and financial choices, with a favorable wind for most anything. I said that before but am reinforcing it. Mercury's trine with Saturn in earth signs could signify a calming of the financial markets, which they desperately need after being knocked down alarmingly for the past month or so. At least it suggests that corporations and managers as well as governments and individuals will be making sounder business and financial decisions.
At the same time, Mercury is square Neptune, which suggests that there will be an ill-at-ease feeling about many factors including financial ones. It is very interesting that Saturn has been in Virgo, the traditional sign of Greece, while that country has suffered its financial woes, pulling the whole of Europe and the world toward a brink of monetary crisis. The pain from this cannot last forever. Questions about the fate of the Euro may be answered while Mars trines Pluto over the next couple of weeks.

First, a correction: In the second (I think) post on the Jupiter-Saturn cycles I said that the period of the mutation (opposition or conjunction) tends to be 11 months long. As is obvious from the times I actually quoted, I meant 13 months. It was just a mental flip-flop. I am sorry if it confused you.
Second, the oil spill, or perhaps the oil invasion from our old enemy Great Britain, began in the Dark Epoch and it appears that there is some limited success at containment now, eight days after the Bright Epoch began. Let us hope this is not a "flash in the pan" (pun intended) but the beginning of improvement. The idea that drilling two new wells in August will settle things is disturbing because another Dark Epoch will have begun by then. Let's hope for answers before that.
The stock market's disappointing fluctuations, downward last week again, are disturbing to investors. Although I do not attempt to predict the market's trends with any exactness, I doubt that there will be a "double dip recession" as some fear, although I can't say whether the upturn will come next week or two or three weeks from now.
This weekend is within the |difficult, touchy, tough or serious third of the week|, which ends in the wee hours between Sunday and Monday. It is important to retain the link with one's spiritual guide or guides, or with the Avatar Jesus or the Avatar Sri Aurobindo or someone else if that someone really does it for you. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you" is major advice during these times. We are required to drop the lesser for the greater. This is not as hard as holding on to the lesser would be, as a matter of fact. A "can do" attitude emerges at such times if one does not lose the spiritual touch, the link with the divine will.
I mentioned recently how the |difficult third| times, two to three days each week, moving gradually earlier, are taken sometimes as hard-partying days by some people. I think these are individuals who are more animal or brutish in their proclivities; pardon me if that sounds snobbish. Last night and today an unusual amount of drunken shouting went on in my neighborhood. Today three inebriates shouted seemingly ecstatic joking conversation filled with profanity at one another for a few hours. The parties at these times (difficult third) are attempts to escape serious problems, worries or memories, and that is why they can go bad.
All this was exacerbated this time by the exact opposition of Mars and Neptune, often a signal of too much alcohol. It can also be poisoning in other ways, so clean diet and air are important. Of course a bit of indulgence may be okay if kept within sensible guidelines.
For the more refined, including you readers (!), this has a "spiritual search" feeling to it, Mars the planet of action realizing he cannot act successfully if he does not know what he is doing---Neptune being either confusion or spiritual guidance. The confusion is a positive signal that the quest for spiritual guidance is there.It is not a bad aspect if that guidance is found and implemented; then it shows the possibility of "giving up the lesser for the greater," the would-be princedom of Satan for the Kingdom of God. Mars is then enlisted to do the will of the Highest rather than his own perverted will. Or, to put it more sweetly, he finds out that his own will is not his own unless it is also that of the Highest.
Venus is beginning to form a trine with Jupiter and sextile with Saturn. This should take the hard edge off the opposition we have been discussing, or perhaps facilitate an easier adjustment to the Big Adjustment. There will be moments of fun, pleasure, luxury and satisfaction; but since Saturn is involved this will tend to be within wise bounds, which could make it even better. The Venus-Jupiter trine lasts through June 23. We dare to breathe the word "love" when Venus enjoys such aspects. Unless one agrees with Good Charlotte's dance floor anthem: "I don't wanna be in love, I don't wanna be in love."

The Ten-Year Cycle of Jupiter-Saturn Mutations
Yesterday I talked about the Jupiter-Saturn opposition occurring every 20 or 21 years. The conjunction of those two planets also occurs every 20 or 21 years, in fact 10 years from the opposition, so that every ten years there is either the opposition or the conjunction. To understand the difference between these two is not perhaps as important as to note them and ponder what they have meant in your own life, and thereby what the current one might mean.
The conjunction occurred from March 2000 through March 2001. (A thirteen-month span seems the norm.) We all know that that was the time of the extraordinary 2000 Presidential election, in which Bush defeated Gore not by the popular vote but by the disgraceful shenanigans of the Supreme Court, which permanently besmirched its reputation. Of course that was just one outward signal of this "mutation;" if you look back on your own life you might find what it meant for you.
In general I would say the conjunction is less of a strain than the opposition. It has the feel of a "beginning" of some sort, a fresh start. The opposition is the turning point at which one evaluates what one has been doing and must choose whether to continue in that mode or change direction. In a way this could apply to both "mutations," as for example: In 2000-01 Al Gore, faced with an unfair defeat in his presidential bid, had to decide on another career path, and did that with great success in his efforts to publicize global warming. Then this year, in the second month of the next "mutation" (the opposition) he and his wife announced the end of their 40-year marriage. I myself began these daily forecasts in 1999-2000 and at this point am beginning to ponder what direction is next for me. There is a feeling of ripeness for change in the air. What does that mean for you?

The mutation is inevitable, but the exact direction it takes has a lot to do with your awareness and your choices. I believe that those in closest contact with their souls are those who will make the best choices.

April 2010 through April 2011
Throughout the summer, in fact for almost a year, we have the Jupiter-Saturn opposition. I recommend that you study this; perhaps read about it in astrological texts. Not many people really know what it means, however, so they will give you clues but only partial clues and some false ones.
It happens every twenty years. The last time was August 1989 through August 1990. If you go back in memory and recall what was going on in your life during that year, it could be very instructive to you. Major changes happened for me, including my apartment building burning down and several changes of residence. A very important friend passed from this world. That was outwardly. Inwardly there was much turmoil and pondering of the purpose and goal of my living. There were also questions of authority and parentage, or parents. It is a need to align one's enthusiasm (Jupiter) with discipline (Saturn). Outwardly the "discipline" can be parents and authority figures, also spiritual guides. Jupiter can be kindness and giving and good fortune. Inwardly Jupiter is a tendency to drift, and coast on good luck while Saturn is a recognized need to get control of one's life and impulses and "make something of oneself." The question can be, Do I coast and fiddle (grasshopper) or bustle and work (ant)? Of course, both are possible, even necessary, but since it is a crisis stage it is important to determine as clearly as you can, "What am I doing?" You do not have to do exactly what parents or authority figures want you to do, but you should attempt to do what your soul wants of you.
This time the "mutation" of these two planets (forming a single planetary pair in the terminology of Marc Edmund Jones, who called this opposition and the corresponding conjunction the "mutation" of the two planets) occurs April 2010 through April 2011. Guess what happened in April? The oil spill. It is symptomatic of the Saturnian need to "clean up one's act." What are you trying to clean up in your act?
You want to "make something of yourself." What? You sense that major changes are happening, at least inwardly, in your orientation to your life. Marc Edmund Jones says that this is an aspect of division in one's life, that is, the life is divided into two segments before and after a given time. Either the change goes toward decadence, coasting, loss of control, self-indulgence, a downward spiral; or toward greater self-control, achievement, determination to "make something of oneself."
I think it is extremely important for us to think about all this during the coming year, or through April 2011. (I said before that the aspect ends September 27, but that is only the first phase of it. It comes back because the outer planets always retrograde. And the second period of the aspect, from February through April 2011, is equally important. From past experience, I declare that the aspect is effective during the whole period, it "takes that orb," so October up to February are also included in the whole phenomenon, perhaps just as strongly as the other two periods just pointed out.) In other words, it is from April this year until April next year, no holds barred, every month and day of that period.
For example, I see in today's paper that Al and Tipper Gore are separating. Major life-change for them. What is your major life-change, at the present time? You will have another 10 or 11 months to work it out. Being conscious of this as a turning point will help you a great deal.
