There appears to be some withdrawal into home or privacy. This is not just because the moon is in Cancer, sign of the home, but because of field placements as well. There is basic harmony, with Luna forming a grand trine with Neptune and the sun, in water signs. This is wonderful for psychic sensitivity and sympathetic vibrations with anyone you care about or even with strangers. Past lives are not to be excluded from your psychic consciousness, and neither are connections with the so-called dead. It is strange that Halloween, originally a sacred holiday for thinking about, praying for and even communing with the dead, has been turned into a monster mash. That is all right as comic relief, of course, but there should be more to the holiday than that, and the spiritual aspect of it continues through November 1, All Hallows.These are church holidays whose origin has not been researched by me so I am in the dark about that. That they occur in the sign Scorpio is of course significant. It is hard to believe that some of the early leaders in the church did not know astrology.

The tension many of us have been feeling continues, while Uranus remains at point focus of a yod-like configuration. On one side are a quincunx with Jupiter and two tri-septiles with Venus and Mars; on the other side, a sesqui-square (tri-octille) with Saturn. This is intense. There was a tragic signature of it in the nightclub fire in Romania where 27 were killed and many injured Friday. Fireworks were set off inside the club, a very stupid plan. Aries of course s a fire sign and Uranus there, retrograde, shows that we can make misuse of Arian-Uranian energies. Or we might make good use of them; let us hope that the President's intention to have more ground troops in Syria is smart rather than another mistake. It has the signature of the Uranus in Aries yod, since Aries is a military sign. The tri-septile with Mars, going on now, is dangerous; there was a septile between those two on 9/11/01 (and other dangerous septiles, but a chapter of a long book could be written on all that). 

I see that Marco Rubio is getting attention as possibly a winner in the Republican presidential sweepstakes. I hope not. I did not like him in either of the two debates. He sounds strident, arrogant, and angry, not qualities I want in the Commander in Chief.  But I see today that a prominent New York billionaire is now supporting him. So I looked up Rubio's chart and see that he has an exact square between Mars and Venus. This is not good. People I have known with it are always getting into fights, arguments, issues, lawsuits. One of them was constantly calling the police on people to the point that the police ignored her. Another found himself unpopular with his students as a professor and was threatened with a lawsuit by one of them, and fired for the consequences. Rubio would not be a peaceful president. He does have some strong natural dignities in his chart--Jupiter in his own sign Sagittarius and Venus in her own sign Taurus. In my view that is not enough to offset his issues, as evidenced more by his exceedingly intemperate speech than by his chart. 

A reader wrote yesterday asking me to consider how things will go for Paul Ryan who just assumed the mantle of Speaker of the House. I would like to look into that but did not get to it today. (The reader is a faithful one for years, and says she has known Ryan and his family.)

My saying that there is a "withdrawal into privacy" today does not mean that there cannot be Halloween parties. Perhaps they will be at home or in a homey place or, if outside, where one has been in the past so that it feels comfortable. Except for the Uranus situation (no fireworks please), most harsh aspects have been diminishing in the past week and that continues today, with the pleasant lunar aspects increasing in the evening when Luna begins to sextile Jupiter, Venus and Mars (visible together early in the morning these days).

If we take the above lineaments seriously, we could say there is a 9 and a half hour period during which we could get a lot accomplished, though it's a time when man will be wanting to get into weekend pleasures. Of course one can get a lot done during a |difficult third| period also, earlier this day, although with the Grand Square commented upon yesterday I found that Thursday was a diffuse day for me when I got more or less lost in a lot of side issues. That was despite the warning I gave myself and you on that very question. So I exhausted myself in trivia and am writing this at 5 a.m. my time, 8 a.m. Eastern; some early risers will miss it.

Friday could be more of the same, although the Grand Square has faded. The remaining squares of Luna with Venus and Mars are good for energy and accomplishment. But the Part of Fortune in the 8th sector together with the sun in Scorpio could make us morose. I know I felt that way on Thursday. It feels as if we are critics of everything including our own lives and wonder what is really worth saving--the 8th sector is that of Death, which means usually, What do I throw out and what do I keep? What is worth doing and what should I drop? I think we have been going through that and it continues today. May your choices be good ones.

The so-called minor aspects with Uranus now are intense. They put him at a focus which challenges him, and he is retrograde. He is our independence and freedom and our determination to be something unique or special. We want that in a big way now, as indicated by his position in Aries, the first sign and that of the baby or the beginner who believes he can do anything. So we try, but the two septiles and one quincunx with the three Virgo planets challenge us to find the right detailed applications of our hopes and energies. "The devil in the details" is often a Virgo monster. We can vanquish him through patience, but Uranus in Aries is extremely impatient. So sometimes we just "cut through" all the details and jump to a conclusion we feel is imperative and cannot wait. Then the results are inconclusive. Will Uranus win, the bold decision? Or will Virgo win, the details which trip us up once again? Actually Virgo is a good, necessary sign, but it demands perfection (see the writings of Sri Aurobindo on Mahasaraswati recorded here yesterday). Uranus needs to calm down, slow down, and take account of all the needed details, but not the unneeded ones! There seems no escape from a focus on fine discrimination. 

Venus and Mars in Virgo are quintile Saturn in Sagittarius. This shows that our underlying philosophic or religious viewpoint can uphold our working out the details we have to face. The song, hymn, or prayer our soul sings can keep us content while we focus on the detailed efforts required of us. Spiritual study and contemplation always brings luck.

And, beyond all details, there is Sol's trine with Neptune, in water signs, exact today. This is the escape beyond all other escapes, the Neptunian release into Ananda or spiritual bliss. This is easier when one has a solid assurance of continued life beyond death. For some it is attained just through rest, a nap, a reassuring dream. Others will take to spiritual discipline or mantra, prayer, ritual, study to pull down what the Theosophists call the Buddhic level into their awareness and feel that "all is good, everything is working out." Amen!

The Republican debate Wednesday evening was a good example of what can happen when the moon is void-of-course and we are in the |difficult third| of the week. I tried to watch it on YouTube after it was finished--I was busy with research while it was going on--and I could find only fragments, and those were involved in relatively meaningless questions and answers and a lot of bickering, both with the moderators and among the candidates. With an astrologer, the Republican National Committee could have chosen a better time for the debate. Ronald Reagan and Nancy consulted an astrologer and his presidency was called "the teflon presidency" because he had such good luck with timing. Most likely it was astrological timing and not luck. I have a big story to tell about that sometime.

Thursday could be less disorienting because the moon will no longer be void-of-course. The hard aspects it makes to five planets form an X cross, which is known for diffusion of energy. We will have to focus in order to get things done in good order rather than get involved in too much to handle all at once. Both money issues and friendship are at stake. Those who have thought things through carefully could do well in both areas. Dropping some things could be wise, but not everything of course, so selection is essential, and quickly. Rather than seek pleasures directly we can seek to do things well and relish the feeling of power and competence which comes as a result. Getting on top of things when they are difficult is one of the greatest pleasures.

Miscommunication could be a problem. People do not see eye to eye on many factors and the best one can do is state one's position and be receptive to other viewpoints,--then do what one has to do or say what one has to say and not worry about the response overmuch. One can be diplomatic and careful, but not ineffectual merely because others do not understand what one is saying or doing. 

Interesting information is everywhere. One needs to select, however, rather than spend too much time pursuing what is not germane to one's own project. Then one can pull diverse factors into a piece and feel one has amazing comprehension of it all.

P. S. Continuing Sri Aurobindo's marvelous description of the powers of the Divine Mother in four different aspects, here is part of what he says about Mahasaraswati:

Scorpio is the sign of ice (the "fixed water" sign), and sometimes while the sun is there, as it has been for five days, one feels that one is chopping one's way through ice.

But one Scorpio friend is being very heroic at this time: For four days now he has stopped smoking. He does not follow astrology so did not even know, most likely, that the sun entered Scorpio a day before his resolve to stop. But this shows the enormous will-power of Scorpio. An astrologer friend remarked to me recently that Scorpio people have an enormous resolve, once they have decided to do something or change a habit. So it is proving with my younger friend. I am proud of him. 

So all of us might be facing something we want to conquer in ourselves with that sort of self-discipline and fortitude. At first it seems hard, as if we were taking something from ourselves or even all the joy of life. Then, as we persist in spite of our feeling of deprivation, things get better and we eventually wonder why we hadn't made that salutary change earlier.

Maybe it is in Scorpio, which ends just before Thanksgiving every year, that we ought to make our "resolutions" rather than on January 1. This time, I am noticing in myself that I feel "down" every day until I face some issue and resolve to conquer it, or get something done I have been postponing. The voice of conscience and rectitude is loud and clear in Scorpio. Scorpio sees into cause and effect, and senses the consequences of failing to shape up, and so is able to be firm.

This one-star day is good for continuing with whatever has been revealed to you as the new or revised trend in your life since last weekend. For me it is a "slow but sure" process. For my friend who has stopped life-long drinking and smoking habits, it is a whole different set of daily patterns. That is not easy. While the moon is v-of-c and we are in the |difficult third| we might be tempted to slip away from what we know is best for us. Yet there are possibilities of good fortune today. Uranus "under attack" by five hard aspects suggests a lot of impatience. We need to be calm and assert ourselves not through arrogant attacks on anyone but through self-reliance. The sufferings of others mix with our own and require healing.

P. S. Sri Aurobindo Spoke often of God as "he" but just as often of the Divine Mother. He used often the term "the Divine" so that any implication of sex could be avoided. Here is a wonderful passage in which he describes one of the four major aspects of The Divine Mother, Maheshwari:

"Imperial Maheshwari is seated in the wideness above the thinking mind and will and sublimates and greatens them into wisdom and largeness or floods with a splendour beyond them. For she is the mighty and wise One who opens us to the supramental infinities and the cosmic vastness, to the grandeur of the supreme Light, to a treasure-house of miraculous knowledge, to the measureless movement of the Mother's eternal forces. Tranquil is she and wonderful, great and calm for ever. Nothing can move her because all wisdom is in her; nothing is hidden from her that she chooses to know; she comprehends all things and all beings and their nature and what moves them and the law of the world and its times and how all was and is and must be. A strength is in her that meets everything and masters, and none can prevail in the end against her vast and intangible wisdom and high tranquil power. Equal, patient, unalterable in her will she deals with men according to their nature and with things and happenings according to their Force and the truth that is in them. Partiality she has none, but she follows the decrees of the Supreme and some she raises up and some she casts down or puts away from her into the darkness. To the wise she gives a greater and more luminous wisdom; those that have vision she admits to her counsels; on the hostile she imposes the consequence of their hostility; the ignorant and foolish she leads according to their blindness. In each man she answers and handles the different elements of his nature according to their need and their urge and the return they call for, puts on them the required pressure or leaves them to their cherished liberty to prosper in the ways of the Ignorance or to perish. For her compassion is endless and inexhaustible; all are to her eyes her children and portions of the One, even the Asura and Rakshasa and Pisacha and those that are revolted and hostile. [It happened again. I forgot to post this last night after I wrote it. I finished it earlier than usual, at 10 p.m. PDT and was pleased with myself. Then I find today at 10 a.m. PDT that I failed to post it here, although I sent it to the two Yahoo groups. This is getting to be a bad habit. Sorry you missed it this morning. It all fits in with the moon being void-of-course today, I'm afraid, but we can still make the most of what is possible.]

The heaviness I felt on Sunday was presaged in the report for that day when I gave it only two stars. I wasn't sure exactly why I did that but it felt right. However, I was perplexed by the intensity of my "bad mood" during the day. So I have been studying the charts for the day (I do two of them, which embody four different field systems) to see what I can see.

There is a lot, but I admit it is somewhat other than what I would have expected. That is why astrology is an experimental science. A friend I visited admitted that he has been feeling "heavy" for the past few days. A factor I am beginning to admit could be important is the sun having entered Scorpio last Friday. I do not have a prejudice against Scorpio as a sign, in fact, in the last few years some Scorpio individuals have been very good for me.

But a "dark cloud" seems to have enveloped me since the sun entered Scorpio this time. My friend today confirmed that, although he does not put much weight on astrology. I believe that although Scorpio individuals, having been born in that sign and enduring as well as enjoying its pitfalls and privileges for many years, may be wonderful and loving, the rest of us when confronted with that vibration every October-November feel it as heaviness, darkness, depression--or as opportunity to rise beyond the "threat of death," or winter, it can represent, into a solid hope of immortality, also an attribute of Scorpio at its best. Then we feel at peace, even deep peace, for Death has been overcome in consciousness. 

Another factor of difficulty on Sunday was Uranus's involvement in two so-called "minor" aspects, a quincunx with Mars and a sesqui-square (or bi-octile) with Saturn. That means that Uranus, a harsh planet at its worst, was afflicted by the two harshest planets in ancient astrology. I admit that I was in a foul mood, and it flamed up at my friend for a while. Also, two neighbors were heard, in the morning, talking aloud and loudly, bemoaning their fate or the world's unfairness. They were upset and angry, as I was feeling although I was trying to overcome the mood by spiritual study and remembrance of the Supreme and His goodness. (Yes, I use the pronoun "his" and "he" although it is open to anyone to use "she"--or "it" if they choose to depersonalize the most exalted Being in the universe, or rather the conscious Being in whom the universe exists.) If G*d is unreal to you, then perhaps you are unreal to G*d? 

As if to confirm the harsh aspects to Uranus, it is in the sign Aries and both I and the friend are sun-sign Aries-born. It was not an extremely bitter antagonism but issues came out that needed to be met.

Since those aspects continue today, and the moon is void-of-course, I believe I ought to warn you against such upsurges of frustration and anger. You may need to feel them but the way in which you express them is of course crucial. 

As the day wears on we should feel better about things, as Luna moves toward a loose but tightening sextile with Neptune in late afternoon and evening. And we are moving toward a Full Moon early Tuesday (time above), so consciousness is full and yearning for more fullness. 

Since we have to continue our work or our schedules, void-of-course or not, let's see a small part of what Sri Aurobindo says of The Mother, the feminine aspect of Deity, who gives us the will and strength to go on:

"The one whom we adore as the Mother is the divine Conscious Force that dominates all existence, one and yet so many-sided that to follow her movement is impossible even for the quickest mind and for the freest and most vast intelligence. The Mother is the consciousness and force of the Supreme and far above all she creates. But something of her ways can be seen and felt through her embodiments and the more seizable because more defined and limited temperament and action of the goddess forms in whom she consents to be manifest in her creatures.

"Determining all that shall be in this universe and in the terrestrial evolution by what she sees and feels and pours from her, she stands there above the Gods and all her Powers and Personalities are put out in front of her for the action and she sends down emanations of them into these lower worlds to intervene, to govern, to battle and conquer, to lead and turn their cycles, to direct the total and the individual lines of their forces. These Emanations are the many divine forms and personalities in which men have worshipped her under different names throughout the ages. 

"The power that mediates between the sanction and the call is the presence and power of the Divine Mother. The Mother's power and not any human endeavor and tapasya can alone rend the lid and tear the covering and shape the vessel and bring down into this world of obscurity and falsehood and death and suffering Truth and Light and Life divine and the immortal's Ananda [Bliss]."

^Ready for Something Real^

This report is being posted later than usual because during the time I would have written it I was at a meeting of the Washington State Astrological Association. The moon was void-of-course through the meeting. It was a good one but rather scattered, with people talking at loose ends and the direction of the discussion rather unclear. I was able to guess that a newcomer to the meeting was probably in the earth signs, and it turned out that he had Taurus rising and the sun in Virgo. Before he told us that I said that I was sensing Virgo rather strongly--it was from his face and the way he spoke and moved his head. If one keeps on observing people closely, knowing their signs, reads a few things available on physical types (Marc Edmund Jones's Astrology, How and Why it Works is one of the best), one can pick up a sense of what signs are predominant in someone's horoscope. I scored rather high tonight by guessing first earth signs for this gentleman and then centering on Virgo before he told me anything about his chart.

I'm giving Sunday only two stars because of lunar aspects, although it could be a good day for steady progress in something which interests you. We have escaped the Dark Hermetic Epoch until December 19, and the moon in Aries is waxing. It could be a good day to get some important things done.

The moon conjoined Uranus in Aries is somewhat insistent on its own way, on 

rebelling against anything holding one back or anyone who disagrees with one's program. But the trines of the sun with Neptune, and of Jupiter-Venus-Mars with Pluto, are friendly and upbuilding. 

So maybe we can turn this into a three-star day. 

I feel as if I am fighting the culture around me when I speak of G*d, since all the self-described "intelligent" people think that they are smarter than G*d to the point that they deny His existence. To me this is a complete lack of understanding of what the word even means. If one knows what the word God really means it is impossible to deny His existence. Understanding the concept which leads to the reality of a connection with the Supreme guarantees that one "believes in" the One who is the Sole Existent and also the Supreme one, that is, transcendent of all existences while including all of them. That this supreme being is also conscious and personal is a stumbling block to a lot of people who think that "science and technology" are the only God. (What science and technology could there be without the consciousness upholding them and upholding those who created them?) Here is something I would like them to ponder from Sri Aurobindo, who in his voluminous writings has explained Who God Is better than anyone I know of (and I have studied philosophy and comparative religion since the age of ten):

"The Divine is a Being and not an abstract existence or a status of pure timeless infinity; the original and universal existence is He, but that existence is inseparable from consciousness and bliss of being, and an existence conscious of its own being and its own bliss is what we may well call a divine infinite Person,--Purusha."

That is almost the crux of the matter. It amazes me that the so-called intelligentsia are not intelligent enough to get this.  Sri Aurobindo goes on:

"Moreover all consciousness implies power, Shakti; where there is infinite consciousness of being, there is infinite power of being, and by that power all exists in the universe. All beings exist by this Being; all things are the faces of God; all thought and action and feeling and love proceed from him and return to him, all their results have him for source and support and secret goal. It is to this Godhead, this Being that the Bhakti [devotion] of an integral Yoga will be poured out and uplifted. Transcendent, it will seek him in the ecstasy of an absolute union; universal, it will seek him in infinite quality and every aspect and in all beings with  a universal delight and love; individual, it will enter into all human relations with him that love creates between person and person."

Everything depends on free will today, because the planets are granting that. Actually, of course, G*d grants that always, but the planets, as His agents (how else could it be expressed?) seem to limit us, only because that is what we need for our growth into our real capacities. You put a child in school, where he has to obey certain rules, not out of malice but because you want him or her to develop his or her capacities. It is the same with the Master of the Universe. The planets do not "influence" us; they are the agents of the temporal-spatial sphere in which we live and breathe which show us what G*d is asking of us, as it were; and what he is giving us. You may believe this or not but it is what I have seen with ever-greater clarity over the course of decades as an observer of the daily astrological positions.

So we have more than average free will today, because it is the first day of a Bright Hermetic Epoch, extending until December 19, and because we are in the optimistic phase of the waxing gibbous moon, and that waxing Luna is void-of-course! This last actually gives freedom, but of the sort which is often misused. We do not have to misuse it. We may be giddy with a sense of fresh and free possibilities, but we do not have to make fools of ourselves by trying to grasp them prematurely before we know what we are doing. 

There is a lot of good sense in the background. Youth and younger people are vitalizing. The sadness of life was emphasized Friday but may be diminishing somewhat today. You lose or miss people away from your home base. Financial research may be sharp and subtly gainful. We have to let each other be, while the sun in Scorpio trines Neptune in Pisces. "Live and let live" seems to jump out as a motto from that aspect. 

I won't dwell on Hurricane Patricia. It hit Mexico Friday afternoon while we were in the |difficult third| of this week, as such weather disasters tend to do. Some day the statisticians will catch up with Cosmic Piper on that score, if they ever wash their brains of the dark sludgy prejudice that astrology is for fools. Yes, fools for G*d, the Master of our Cosmos. "Cosmos" means orderly. Says the Online Etymology Dictionary:  Latinized form of Greek kosmos "order, good order, orderly arrangement," a word with several main senses rooted in those notions: The verb kosmein meant generally "to dispose, prepare," but especially "to order and arrange (troops for battle), to set (an army) in array;" also "to establish (a government or regime);" "to deck, adorn, equip, dress" (especially of women). Thus kosmos had an important secondary sense of "ornaments of a woman's dress, decoration" (compare kosmokomes "dressing the hair") as well as "the universe, the world." 

Pythagoras is said to have been the first to apply this word to "the universe," perhaps originally meaning "the starry firmament," but later it was extended to the whole physical world, including the earth. 

"Order, good order, orderly arrangement" is what I mean when I call myself Cosmic Piper. The planets point the way to that order and are a marvel of orderliness in their regular motions. Yet the way their orbits interact is so complex that they formulate a daily kaleidoscopic marvel of intricate patterns of experience which Cosmic Piper tries to put into words, with little or some success as the case may be. Probably he should go back to the poetic quatrains, inspired by Nostradamus, with which he has tried to grace and enrich these forecasts. Perhaps tomorrow . . .

~The Touching Attempt~

It's a one-star day because the moon in Pisces opposes Venus, Jupiter and Mars while square Saturn. This can all add up to separations, which we generally do not want unless we are so exhausted with someone that being away from them is a relief. If not that, there is often a wonderment that someone so near can be so far.

Today and yesterday should be, and have been, money days in some important way. Either you figured out a money or budgeting problem or you saved money or got investments straight or something of that nature. If not, with concentration that could be done now.

People are touchy about communications which may yet be necessary. A career niche of your own which is mysterious could bring surprising satisfaction. 

The moon with Neptune in Pisces plus other factors could make us weary or needing extra rest, a nap, or daydreaming, musing, contemplation. Then back to work (Virgo) which gives a lot of satisfaction when done well.

I received two political ads in the mail Thursday concerning a local initiative for more democratic campaign financing. I support it. This could be a happy symptom of Mercury squaring Pluto while both are at critical degrees, Mercury in Libra sign of justice while Pluto, a big-money planet, settles in Capricorn a sign of government. Let's hope such initiatives are proceeding around the country at state and local levels even though they are not happening federally because of a Congress captive to lobbying interests. 

There is a sense of satisfaction in a child when he or she just keeps her pennies and dollars in the right place and knows how much it is and how to handle it. Likewise adults now may be feeling good about their personal economies and the way they are handling them. There is effort involved in that but it seems to be getting more felicitous.

People are trying hard to do the best they can, and when you see someone you know doing that, perhaps in a poignantly touching manner, he or she has an even more privileged place in your heart.

This is the first time I am using the term Escape Mode for the moon being void-or-course. It occurs to me that the word "void" has too many unpleasant implications and perhaps renaming it, for a while at least, will help us to rethink what it means. Of course, an escape can be wise, as in meditation, or foolish, as in overdrinking or being dangerously irresponsible.

Serious thinking about things is the order of the day, whether they are financial or philosophical or something in between. Order also is the order of the day, with three planets remaining in Virgo. There is push-and-pull between these three and their opposing planet, Neptune in Pisces, which is a spiritual impulse and an effort for spiritual understanding. Both are necessary. According to Sri Aurobindo, the only real order on this plane comes from the higher supramental or spiritual planes, when we can attune ourselves to them. Something like this could be going on now for those able to connect with the higher realities and aspirations.

It may be good to stay close to home or headquarters.

Questions of food to eat or supplements to use could be answered through information. Exercise is wise and can revitalize one's mind and purposes wonderfully, especially if one repeats a spiritual mantra one believes in while doing it. 

The worries and problems of friends seem to be your own and could weigh you down even when you are not consciously thinking of them. Deep metaphysically informed prayer is the only answer I know.

Because of the |difficult third| we may be feeling that the Dark Hermetic Epoch is never going to end, although it does on Saturday and Sunday. These final days of it may not be much easier than the center of it (the end of August until October 24). A peaceful and hopeful attitude will help enormously.

}Slowly Realizing Opportunities{

Household matters are significant and can be set in order. This revitalizes your consciousness.

Connections with friends may be better than in recent days. 

There is swift intelligence in areas that are private or personal; you do not share these with anyone.

Your career, job, or business is at a point of reorientation in a big way, through realistic vision and determined application.

Giving, to someone, or the world, is of the essence of personality in its renaissance, for Neptune requires a universal outlook. We become divine by sharing indirectly if not directly. Then the world shares with us.

Conversations may be fraught with misunderstandings, but there is willingness to look beyond toward something deeper that is shared anyway. Sometimes people do not "get" what you say but will think about it and get it later, even much later perhaps. So the attempt to say it is worthwhile.

The opposition of Mercury in Libra, sign of justice and balance, with Uranus in Aries, sign of the head, is bringing out important discussion and research concerning head injuries in football, both high school and college if not professional. "Minor" concussions are not a minor matter when they add up. It is good that this is being realized.

The squares of both Mercury and Uranus with Pluto in Capricorn, sometimes a sign of business while Pluto rules the world of money and high finance, has been bringing out a lot of awareness of the corporate world and its practices and the question of taxation and other policies, through the presidential candidates and the positions they take. It is also inspiring attempts to "get money out of politics" through various referendums. 

The strength of Neptune today plumps for deep meditation when you are able to do that.  

Otherwise, on the practical side, you reduce anxieties about your work by facing them and handling the issues involved patiently and with hope. Then you may be ready for fresh beginnings by the weekend and early next week.

It is probably better to make contacts, phone calls, agreements and so on before the moon goes void-of-course. Of, if in the West, you could do such things in the evening after Luna enters Aquarius, if appropriate at such a time.The five void-of-course hours are good for rest, recovery, meditation, free-form living with no particular expectations (unless it is crucial that you get routine things done). We tend to brood while the moon is in Capricorn.

If the trines from Venus, Jupiter and Mars to Pluto, in earth signs, were good for business, that may be somewhat questionable in individual cases, for they also oppose Neptune, which means that deception or self-deception is a possibility. The easy path looks good until it is put to the test. Then, back to the drawing board, which is a frequent experience during any Dark Hermetic Epoch (until October 24, or this Saturday, but relief is more likely perhaps on Sunday). "The worse seems the better course," a line from the Psalms, seem to curse us during these times, unless we are very wary and savvy and wise. 

Coincidentally, the two T squares which have been testing us (for some good reason in the mind of the cosmos' G*d, Who is the Supreme) are winding down, slackening, ending, late in October, just after the Bright Hermetic Epoch begins this coming weekend. Hurrah! I never like to promise too much, but this is something which at least should make us feel we know what we are doing for a change, and that others also are on a track which can jibe with our own in a way which makes more sense both practically and emotionally. 

Meanwhile, today, dull as it sounds, your job for one thing, and just being at home for another look like good foci. The stuff we don't feel like doing is probably the stuff that will make us feel good once we take care of it. The monsters and goblins who have been hobbling us begin to look less formidable, even if we still have to exorcise some of them or re-learn the lessons we need to learn from them.

We'll see what the moon in Capricorn conjoining Pluto and trining Venus, Jupiter and Mars in Virgo will do for us. It should be good. There is some uncertainty about financial or business matters, yet a lot of optimism and a determination to find answers. This could work out partially or successfully today. We are investing our time in something that could give us more prestige and clout in the world. CEOs and heads of corporations are not necessarily inimical to us if we deal with them appropriately. Or we may, rather, deal with the ripple effects they create in the world economy and our personal one.

Disagreements with friends at a distance are not impossible to handle calmly. 

I think a lot of us have been willing to put deeper personal relationships aside, or just let them be, during the long period of Venus's square with Saturn. That is winding down, granting relief from loneliness, even as Venus approaches Mars. Love life should be decidedly better from the 22nd of October to early November. There may be foretastes of that today, even if mild ones.

Mostly it seems a time for getting business and career details in shape in a fruitful manner.
