\Happy Orientation Gets a Foothold/
It's a good day to sort through things and arrive at choices. We are still in the Bright Hermetic Epoch until November 22. What I said a week ago about this being a good time to figure out basic plans, choices, and methods is still true. This has been happening for me in a big way, and I hope for you also. If not, there is still time to make it happen. None of us can probably see to the end of our lives, or into future lives, but at times like this we can see as far ahead as we need, and plan accordingly. The moon's sextiles with the sun and then Mercury (way into the evening and past midnight) make this even more feasible.
Action at home or at headquarters which seems imperative is being almost forced on you, and that it good because it is imperative for your true well-being even if it seems like extra work. You may be slow at first to arm yourself and get going but you can do it in a prudent way which shows in fact you are prepared. You are learning to do something about which you have doubts, but once you get started you do it well, with your individual accent.
Sensual tendencies, an inclination toward easy pleasures, would be your escape, but you think better of them in time. A small place which cultivated people inhabit could be your venue for something both useful and pleasant. Then you feel you are using powers you have which are little understood but which invisibly lift and aid important people or projects.
Someone might make off-color jokes, or pretend to be malicious or caustic, while merely playing with you. This could inspire you to think in a different way which brings out your understanding through reawakening. Then you are ready to enjoy a good time with people around you, perhaps through shared food and drink which arouses the slumbering fraternity-sorority of humanity. Meanwhile you are not incognizant of better ways to direct your life, some of them already known but experienced in a fresh way through intuitive orientation (paragraph 1).
You could appreciate the arts wherever you encounter them. They have a touch of the romantic, the perils of love welcomed gladly because one feels their rewards stronger wine than the briars in which those grapes of passion must be picked.
You find higher meaning in challenging situations, so you can rely on gifts of grace which filter through them. Innocence may be protective. Someone who is a magician, truly or figuratively, has a love-potion indeed, of which you could partake, or you may slip it into the drink of an object of your amours (figuratively, please!). This is not black magic, if it is implicitly true love seeking an entrance in ways which appear devious to the sullen ethicist.

Toward Solid Fulfillment
Of the weekend itself it could be said that Saturday is more direct and straightforward, while Sunday nebulous or confusing, maybe really a time to relax and recover.
Good, youthful spirits are in evidence both days, with the moon in Leo, though on Sunday tempered by a more mystical and remote disposition.
The serious as opposed to social side of both days is focused on career matters, which are circulating in the back toward the front of your mind in a healthy way.
I said last week that I would attempt to delineate, on the weekends, the difference between the week ending and that beginning. I have become quite convinced that the seven-day week devised by the ancients, or offered to them from on high, has a reality in human experience and that it indeed begins on Sunday, although since Saturday is the intercalary day it partakes of the week ahead as well as the week ending. This time I will try to outline what the week of Sunday October 31 (or Saturday) through Friday November 5 (or Saturday November 6) may hold for us.
One can be initiated into the eternal verities at any time, though it might be there is a special opportunity now. There is a school of thought which insists that illumination is individual, acquired through solitary meditation, and a school of thought which maintains that one must act socially with one's neighbors, family, friends and associates in a harmonious way in order to be initiated, as in Freemasonry and the groups derived from it. That is your choice; it seems you will be impelled toward the latter against your will if you choose the former; the latter is a necessary supplement. This is difficult for the one who has trouble getting along with people. Cultivating what is beautiful or appealing to one's tastes is a help. Someone is sure to appreciate what you enjoy and then there is a rapport.
It is good to be careful of connections which could hurt you or lead you into a pit of ruin. This can be done if you measure and limit your activities with efficiency. You feel that you have some secrets no one else will "get," and that is true. They are securely yours even if in terms of your public persona they seem an obstacle, or lock you out from certain contacts with possibly important people because you are focused on your hidden agenda. Perhaps that cannot be avoided.
Freedom comes to you through very deep studies, even the secret of liberating oneself from death itself. This can happen if you follow your heart as it directs serious choices. Liberty comes also through material prosperity and this is available in perhaps greater measure than recently. You can liberate yourself also from false notions if you are strict in observing what you believe, subconsciously, which is hindering you; I have called these entities "fixed wrong notions" and most people have one or more of them at the root of their failure. It is hard to see them even, then hard to eradicate them. Spiritual study can uproot them.
It seems you are determined to overcome a frivolous side of you, vain and self-centered. The better part of you knows when you are focused too much on attempts to impress people through appearance or personality. You might come to realize that those who are most beloved think very little of how they appear.
You have been laboring at something difficult, as if mining treasure from the earth. In some ways you are escaping from the hardest of the labor, even if it might be necessary again. You have arrived at some secure foundations for your financial fortunes. There are times, however, when you feel this avails little, because you fail to take up opportunities which present themselves.
There is much luck in business, living conditions, and possibly travel plans. It is wise to refrain from drifting with the luck into sensuous, lazy, decadent ways which would deplete your energy and drive. When things are easy one is likely to take the too-easy path.
There could be snobbery and exclusiveness. Of course it is all right to enjoy the fruits which come to you so long as that does not stop you from whatever is your mission in this life. ~Interpersonal Exploration~
There is an urge to be out and about. You want to be out in nature, whatever the seasonal appearance or weather.
I could see people hiking or trekking or just on a "color tour" (better environmentally to do that on a bike) or something more adventurous such as an extreme or semi-extreme sport. There is a lot of irrepressible energy.
It is not necessary to be angry or an agitator although such impulses may arise.
There seems to be relief concerning jobs and income. Although still results are not what one would wish, people are thinking about things other than money.
Disappointment in leaders is everywhere. Probably we expect too much from them. If we judge them, then we should be able to do what we think they should. No?
Some such leaders are learning to be strong, to stick to their plans even when losing popular support. That could be you also. You needn't expect most people to "get" what you are trying to accomplish. Still, you can do it.
A period in the afternoon from 12:49p PT to 5:40p PT, 3:49p ET to 8:40p ET, 7:49p UT to 12:40a(Sa)UT, about five hours, could capsize your plans. It is while the moon is void of course in Cancer before entering Leo at the latter time. It might be good to be free-form at that time and let things pan out as they will, because it would be hard to be certain exactly how you will spend your evening. However, it is well worth waiting, fiddling, meddling or re-beginning and temporizing, because good things are in store after the moon enters Leo. It could be a good party evening, as shall Saturday.
People could be in a costume mood, so there is no need to wait a day or two for Halloween festivities. You want to mingle with large numbers of people; this can be exhilarating. Yet you maintain native innocence and childlike glory. You involve yourself in people's lives to just the degree you wish. Luck is with you while you locate the things, entertainments, resources and people you want, or find them serendipitously.
Idealism in people makes them basically trusting. Maybe they actually even care about each other and the human race (!). Some trick-or-treaters work for good causes or charities. Stabilizing energies will calm you if you get over-agitated, so you can go where you will be comfortable, or just determine to find a comfort zone no matter where you are.
Another tendency, linked perhaps with paragraphs 1 through 3, is more excitable and intense, wanting to knock things over, make a scene, be somebody through action which gets attention, or just sweep through the world like a frenzied wind. If you don't feel that way yourself you could see it in others and it could be contagious. No worries; this is a day for adventurous exploration and interpersonal discovery.

~Toward Gain and Cooperation~
This is the second day of the |more stressful third of the week| according to a carefully studied formula which has worked precisely over the years. It does not mean the day is good for nothing, of course. In fact it could be very good for proceeding with wise plans. Less stress beginning Friday around noon coincides happily with the weekend, for now and in recent weeks.
The evening of Thursday tends to be more congenial and less disturbing.
On Wednesday just as I started to realize I needed to prepare and do laundry, I found a male neighbor was in the same process. (Not a guy thing?) That coincided with the moon in Cancer squaring Saturn, no doubt a good time for laundry (Cancer is a domestic sign and water sign). That continues Thursday so it could be a smart laundry day.
A detective tendency does not mean you are spying on your neighbors, or they on you, yet is good for subtle awareness of all around you including some possible job or money moves.
As the Halloween weekend approaches, people are remembering past celebrations and the links with people they formed in peculiar ways. You can re-establish such ties in memory.
Sometimes it seems the simple path is the best, even if it results in less income and luxury. Whether this is lazy or spiritually sane depends on the individual's dharma, or inborn tendency and destiny.
Perhaps your recent feelings that you are making little headway will be somewhat relieved, at least by late in the day, when it feels the world is starting to cooperate with you a little better.
When you see how some have been selfish and self-centered, not living up to the standards they are supposed to represent, your discomfort can lead to higher standards for yourself as well as subtle ways of making clear to someone that he or she needs to shape up. One who has been a partner from old times is assisting you, visibly or invisibly.
Those who might say something negative about you are probably in the minority. When you get wind of such, you can trust that falsehoods will never last long enough to hurt you seriously. People sometimes prance and strut, thinking that by saying something against someone else they are exalting themselves, but sooner or later they realize this does not work.
The continuity of your efforts is leading to wealth. Small but important things you do add to your credit, which means a better supply of all you need. You are ambitious in a healthy way, that is, when it seems natural to be so, not forced.

It's not a particularly easy day and we are in the |difficult third of this week| today and tomorrow.
You may feel like a warrior. I do not like the "warrior" image but it implies fighting to keep yourself focused on what is important for you.
Halloween plans are interesting. You ponder being in a public place and "exposing yourself." You are clever and will fascinate people even when you don't realize it.
Something missing could cause consternation, yet it can be found. You work at home for something significant and can keep up despite lack of progress.
People are critical of each other when it comes to pretenses. Who is the one who is trying to reform everyone, including you? Reformation is essential; it is re-formation. Part of you resists it and part of you welcomes it. A false reformer does not understand the one of whom he is critical.
You are trying to retain you throne, as it were, your position of security, and can do it when you know you are right.
Plans you keep hidden, involving learning and gain, are flourishing. You become stabilized when you intuit the broad patterns of your life and of G*d's plans as they unfold gradually.
What would frustrate that process would be wanton rage directed against whatever seems to be in your way or is worthless in your eyes. Fortunately it seems you have enough common sense and patience to scotch such impulses.
Simplicity and innocence in your work for income will pay off. What you need to be, and therefore are, is both useful and attractive.

There is a stabilization of thinking, greater certainty about what you believe.
Personal charm and magnetism consolidate friendships, even when there has been confusion about loyalty. Someone you like falls under your influence.
A spontaneous mood can surface even while you work. People feel secure enough, even financially, to joke and play a bit.
You feel certain you can win over any opponent. This does not make you foolhardy but confident enough so that you are unwavering in your plans, not daunted by what would appear to be threats if you were timorous.

There is luck with gems, metals, investments, or other boons, some unexpected. You find what you need to find, get what you need to get.

Weekend of October 23-24, 2010
Important Research Accomplished
Unexpectedly, I was thrown, by a request for some astrological help, into a "research mode" as has been characteristic of my life for many years. This took up almost every waking minute from Friday afternoon, when ordinarily I would have written the weekend forecast, until now, Saturday mid-afternoon. It has been an enormously fruitful day of reviewing and testing all my basic procedures for the forecasts, especially for weekly forecasts, which I have not been using here very much. The daily forecasts have been researched and re-researched and re-re-researched to a point where I feel I know pretty much how to do them, that is, on the technical side, although putting what I see into words is the hard part. The weekly forecasts, which I have not been writing here but hoped to write, and tried for a while, have been a bigger problem, using a longer-term arrangement of the planetary motions and interrelations than the daily charts. It seems I have arrived at something quite definite as of today, based on past research re-studied. It was a matter of selecting out from the methods I had tested and found to work---I threw out dozens which failed in test---the ones which work best in the most cases, using of course past events in others' lives and my own to test them.
I am pretty much exhausted by this non-stop effort. It was exhilarating yet eventually tiring. In the process I tested one method which has had good and yet spotty success in the past, and finally, after spending hours on it, decided that although it does work to some degree it does not work as well as other methods and probably ought to be dropped, either permanently or for the time being. I try to use Occam's Razor, the notion that one should not multiply factors beyond what is necessary. A great deal is necessary, however!
So, the upshot is that although I will not write a weekend report this time, I hope that I will be armed with tools to write an even better one next weekend, perhaps focusing on the difference between the week ending and the one beginning. It does appear that the ancients were right to make Sunday the first day of the week and Saturday the final day. It appears to be a transition day between the two weeks, partaking somewhat of the nature of both, which might be an esoteric reason for it being the Hebrew Sabbath.

Some of the gloom some or all of us have experienced during Wednesday and Thursday may be with us for a while yet, but technically the |difficult or demanding third of the week| is with us today until 2:27p PT | 5:27p ET | 9:27p UT. It is nice that the weekend will be free of it, though of course challenges never end in our "sublunar world."
An emphasis on money continues, but whether that is lucky for you or seemingly unlucky is hard to tell. Perhaps you are reorganizing and rethinking your personal finances. It might be a good shopping day for some purposes.
You might be aware of some who are quite notable in the financial sphere or who have been successful, and get clues from them. You may be intrepid in pursuing your particular goals and the business techniques which accompany them.
You may have the power of persuasion when you are moved by deep principles within you, so that you can state what others are afraid to say but long to hear.
Group work can be frustrating when it seems people are working with no visible result. Some things have to be slow at this point in the evolution of the human race. There is needed reformation of all who put themselves in positions of authority (except for those very few who have the personal meekness of Moses). Unswerving faith is needed, so that you sort out those to whom you wish to be loyal from those to whom your loyalty is no longer alive or relevant. Noble intentions are emphasized. You feel you could do more for the world, as well as yourself, if you were better off financially, and this might be true if those good intentions should indeed translate themselves into good deeds after getting your windfall.
You could worry too much about some matters, whether financial or otherwise, yet your insight, booted up by such worry, could penetrate deeply and brilliantly.
People tend to grab what they want, selfishly, not always aware how their callous greed looks to the objective observer. You may note this, castigating it in some and winking at it in others. Luck is with us, as it was yesterday. You might want to make the most of that because the |difficult or challenging third of the week| will begin very late this evening, lasting through Thursday and the early part of Friday.
The moon in Pisces trine Mars (and conjoined with Jupiter) gives a somewhat more active cast to the day than yesterday's trine with Venus. That is neither better nor worse, just a different coloring. You could achieve a lot and enjoy the attempt.
You may gain through investment or making use of resources at home. There is a feeling of "seeding" as well as seizing, or reduplicating gains through reinvesting some.
People are seeing into one another, sometimes through perceiving something about one another's ancestral roots or the way they function within their families and communities. Investigations by secret agencies continue, as they always do, and you may get wind of some of them. Or this might be merely gossip.
Suffering you have endured has made you better and stronger, especially when you reject bitterness or resentment and rejoice in your moral or material victories. These are all the better when recognized by others, but if not you can be certain they will get such recognition in time. Meanwhile your immortal soul knows what it has done and won.
You see into the mistaken motives or desires of those who are predatory whether financially or sexually. Sometimes the desire for power requires reformation so that it is a desire to make things really better for others or "the world" rather than whip the world into obeying the self.
High aspirations are their own reward even when they get little response from others who might have helped you actualize them.
It's nice to be at home where you are the master, and dispense favors to those who win your favor or to strangers. Keeping your pleasant domicile in order enables you to share its warmth. People always have more to share than they realize until they begin the process.
Much which you imbibe as information, through the media, online, or word of mouth, reflects your immediate world so you can make better use of it. You might find bargains, other gains, or unexpected ways of enjoying yourself with little cost. Just to observe the passing show is a form of entertainment. Choosing what you really want and sticking with it will gain your desire.
This is a time for many of your fears to dissolve. You might notice whatever tightness you feel in your shoulders, arms, fingers, toes and feet, and relax them deliberately. What is keeping you tense? Is it not largely fears of things which will never come to pass? The wise ones tell us to dissolve fear into perfect love and trust. Safety comes from the inner soul's flexible yet omniscient presence, which warns you in time to shift or move to avoid any distress or trouble. People look toward one another longingly. They are not sure what the "other," whether stranger or acquaintance, has to offer but they suspect it is something they are missing. This is poignant. Yet today all that is necessary is trust and freedom from anxiety. You cannot be rejected when your heart is pure, for then you would not even notice the rejection. Luck is with us, as it was yesterday. You might want to make the most of that because the |difficult or challenging third of the week| will begin very late this evening, lasting through Thursday and the early part of Friday.
The moon in Pisces trine Mars (and conjoined with Jupiter) gives a somewhat more active cast to the day than yesterday's trine with Venus. That is neither better nor worse, just a different coloring. You could achieve a lot and enjoy the attempt.
You may gain through investment or making use of resources at home. There is a feeling of "seeding" as well as seizing, or reduplicating gains through reinvesting some.
People are seeing into one another, sometimes through perceiving something about one another's ancestral roots or the way they function within their families and communities. Investigations by secret agencies continue, as they always do, and you may get wind of some of them. Or this might be merely gossip.
Suffering you have endured has made you better and stronger, especially when you reject bitterness or resentment and rejoice in your moral or material victories. These are all the better when recognized by others, but if not you can be certain they will get such recognition in time. Meanwhile your immortal soul knows what it has done and won.

People look toward one another longingly. They are not sure what the "other," whether stranger or acquaintance, has to offer but they suspect it is something they are missing. This is poignant. Injustices are always hard to understand for those who believe in G*d yet feel they do not understand all His ways. It may be you will become aware of some such today, affecting your home living as well as your understanding of events at a distance. There are compulsions in people which compel them toward self-hurtful acts, it seems, unless they are exceptionally self-aware through Yoga or some other form of spiritual training.
You may become enterprising, and yesterday's report shows that this is a good time for being just that. We all want freedom. Your way to that could be callous of others' feelings, yet perhaps direct and effective.
Those involved in politics may be harsh or radical. They want changes in a hurry, while the World Spirit, not in a hurry, troubles them by its deliberate and sometimes backtracking methods.
If you are honest and just, you have earned goodwill which gives you about the best security anyone can have. You can make choices with astute finesse, so that you multitask without suffering pangs of uncertainty.
There is a restlessness which impels you to be in more than one place, so you may desire to wander. The fact that the Chilean miners are being rescued---one of the most inspiring stories in a long time---during the |difficult third of the week| shows that good things can be done at such a time. Notice I said "can be done" as opposed to "happen." If you just wait for good things to happen during such a time you probably will be disappointed. Patience and intelligent activity are required.
The wives of the miners and the miners themselves, of course, had to be very patient during the slow process of pulling them up from the bowels of the earth. That is something always required during the |difficult or more painful| third of the week. Then after the husbands rejoined their wives, which had to be in public, they had to be taken immediately to the hospital on stretchers after brief hugs. You see how everyone has to endure delays and has to summon patience during these times. I point this out so you can adjust your attitude during that period, which I try to point out faithfully every week. Of course, the miners and their families were exhilarated that they were safe and returned. That had to do with other things to be mentioned soon.
The |difficult or more stressful and patience-requiring third of the week| will end today (Thursday) at 8:27p PT | 11:27p ET | 3:27a(F) UT. It seems longer this time because the moon is slower and also it happens to end in a late evening rather than early morning as it has been doing recently. So Thursday is still a serious day, but we shall see what it is good for.
On the topic of the miners, they were imprisoned on August 5 (the first day of a |difficult third of the week|) and their rescue started on October 12. The former was during a Dark Hermetic Epoch (which began August 1), the latter toward the center of a Bright Hermetic Epoch. Also, the Gulf oil spill happened during a Dark Epoch and was fixed finally during a Bright Epoch. Such incidents dramatize exactly why I make so much of these periods.
Thursday is quite remarkable. It seems like an "all business" day, and a "go ahead" day. You care about your home as well as your career. Much in your career is undergoing strong development. (I am trying to use words carefully.) "Undergoing strong development" means you are in a position to take a solid, accurate overview of where you are and what you are doing. I recommend during Bright Epochs, just before Mercury conjoins the sun, which is the center of that Epoch (October 16, Saturday, this time) that we sit down and write down our basic plans and strategies. It is likely that you will have a clear vision of them and doing that will help solidify them in your mind. These will have to do with your career basically, but also with your household situation or your headquarters. You can see what is happening and how to take advantage of all factors during the coming period until at least November 22 (and probably somewhat longer). Today might be the best day to do that, although Friday and Saturday are good also.
You want to be a "real mensch" today, a real human being, and could be honest and accurate in self-evaluation. You see the handwriting on the wall as to your business, job, and home. You "get the picture" as to your current limitations (which are not eternal) and your current possibilities. Some are new, most are old, but you can combine new and old in an intelligent pattern as this is revealed to you through the outworking of circumstances as well as flashes of intuition.
If there are immediate business or job decisions, or decisions about your home, you want to make, this could be the day to do it, whether early or in the evening. If all that seems on track, you can discern and pin down what is good about it, what put you in your good position, and how you can stay there.
The day has a social and friendly side also, but it seems subordinate to the major emphases just discussed. Like a child, or with childlike individuals, you may at certain moments discard responsibilities and have some spontaneous fun. You want to be and feel free. Actually the serious stuff we have already discussed, when you face it wisely and well, will give you more rather than less freedom. A friendly and kindly side of people is in evidence, perhaps more in the evening--tinged with the gruffness of the goat (moon in Capricorn). You are a lonely strategist at one level, yet human warmth, even if craggy and humorous, is within reach.

I write this Wednesday evening, without Internet connection. The wireless service for which I am paying is “unavailable” until tomorrow morning. (“DNS server is not responding," thank you. So while I am writing this on time, it may be posted too late for your morning reading. Later: The hookup was reconstituted just after 8 a.m. PT | 11a ET | 3p UT and I am posting as soon as possible.) I note that Mercury is sailing along to its conjunction with Saturn. Often this produces the same kinds of delays which the Mercury Retrograde period is famous for. That conjunction is in full force Thursday, which is also the second day of the |specially difficult or demanding third of the week|. I hope it will not be too stressful for you. You may have to deal with delays and tie-ups in your work especially, or with individuals who are important to you or “over” you in some organization. What can you do? Be patient, and work out the details slowly but conscientiously. Saturn sometimes delays or ties up the surface factors in a situation in order to force us to go deeper into something more soulful or deeply purposeful. We complain about it, while it serves a purpose obscure to us.

}Facing Otherness Meekly and Honestly{
I did not post a forecast here for Monday or Tuesday and nobody seemed to mind. I am writing them for myself; it would be nice if a few others read them also and benefit from them but I do it for myself. So I will neither give excuses nor apologize.
But it is true that the charts for those two days were dramatically correct in pointing out what I was going through, and I saw also how they applied to the lives of some others around me.
Wednesday and Thursday, up to somewhere near sunrise Friday (in the Eastern Hemisphere, near noon in the Eastern) comprise the |difficult or stressful or moody or karmically burdened third of the week|. Today the moon, Mercury, Saturn and the sun are all quite close together in the first half of Libra. This means a striving for and perhaps attainment of depth in relationships. Does depth mean it will be easy? Of course not. But it could be wonderfully rewarding despite the difficulties. You adjust to people and they adjust to you.
There is an emphasis also on career. You want to be doing what will give you self-respect. You want to "serve" if you realize that only through some kind of service can you be a real person. This does not mean servility. The CEO also serves. He is bound to his task just as the lowest-paid worker. For that he was born, perhaps.
And in the service there is a meeting of one's opposites or one's "enemies" even, that is, those who differ in their perspective and life-experience. Thank heaven for the difference, as the French say, because without it you would be poorer and weaker. You become yourself by facing your opposite.
That process contains mysteries. You learn, some things consciously, most unconsciously; you are expanded by the process of meeting and adjusting to others. They would not be "others" if the process was always simple or easy.
There is an international flavor to some of this. It takes you beyond yourself, yet is focused on the practical, as in business. There is some intrigue, there is wonderment about how people can be what they are, especially when that thwarts or blocks your plans or habits. There is material here for a spy novel.

I did not post a forecast here for Monday or Tuesday and nobody seemed to mind. I am writing them for myself; it would be nice if a few others read them also and benefit from them but I do it for myself. So I will neither give excuses nor apologize.
But it is true that the charts for those two days were dramatically correct in pointing out what I was going through, and I saw also how they applied to the lives of some others around me.
Wednesday and Thursday, up to somewhere near sunrise Friday (in the Eastern Hemisphere, near noon in the Eastern) comprise the |difficult or stressful or moody or karmically burdened third of the week|. Today the moon, Mercury, Saturn and the sun are all quite close together in the first half of Libra. This means a striving for and perhaps attainment of depth in relationships. Does depth mean it will be easy? Of course not. But it could be wonderfully rewarding despite the difficulties. You adjust to people and they adjust to you.
There is an emphasis also on career. You want to be doing what will give you self-respect. You want to "serve" if you realize that only through some kind of service can you be a real person. This does not mean servility. The CEO also serves. He is bound to his task just as the lowest-paid worker. For that he was born, perhaps.
And in the service there is a meeting of one's opposites or one's "enemies" even, that is, those who differ in their perspective and life-experience. Thank heaven for the difference, as the French say, because without it you would be poorer and weaker. You become yourself by facing your opposite.
That process contains mysteries. You learn, some things consciously, most unconsciously; you are expanded by the process of meeting and adjusting to others. They would not be "others" if the process was always simple or easy.
There is an international flavor to some of this. It takes you beyond yourself, yet is focused on the practical, as in business. There is some intrigue, there is wonderment about how people can be what they are, especially when that thwarts or blocks your plans or habits. There is material here for a spy novel.

Not only are we in a Bright Hermetic Epoch until November 22, this weekend the moon in Leo has escaped the |stressful third of the week| syndrome; so you may feel quite chipper. Things are looking up, are they not?
If you don't quite feel that way, it could be the fact of Mercury at the end of Virgo opposing Jupiter and Uranus while beginning to conjoin Saturn in Libra. This is kind of like drinking up the dregs of the same aspect by the sun which went on for the past two weeks. It feels that we are coming out of the woods, but there are still branches and maybe some snakes in the way. Much better, however.
Stuff you have been trying to clear away, old stuff you need to finish before you can enter fully into fresh living, is symbolized by Jupiter and Uranus retrograde while they are opposed by Mercury, and by Saturn (always significant of old stuff to finish, or of delays). Yet this is easier than it has been for weeks.
Today there is a touch of romance, with the moon in Leo. It moves toward a square with Mars conjoined to Venus in Scorpio, late in the evening or early Sunday morning. This could be hot eroticism. Perhaps it is dangerous for me to suggest that on a Saturday night. Normal precautions need to be taken, most certainly. People "fall for each other" at times like this. So if I were writing for a lurid men's magazine I would be suggesting this as a night to be out on the prowl in pursuit of whatever men are in pursuit of when on the prowl. Since I am writing for a more genteel readership, I shall avoid the more lurid suggestions, but I think you get the picture. It is interesting how paying attention to the esthetics of erotic arousal, the set and setting as well as clothing and grooming, can lift everything toward a less dangerous and more satisfying level. All of this carries over into Sunday, even more intense in the morning, but gets murkier and more inward or spiritual later that day. After the party comes the reassessment.
This could be a good time for realistic financial strategies. Perhaps you will look over your savings and investments and decide on better procedures. You are up for being selfish in a sensible way, thinking about your position in the world and how to better it cleverly. For some, this will be more important than the sensual proclivities just hinted at.
At other moments you go deeply into what it means to be yourself, and deeply into what it means that your identity seems inextricably connected with others' identities in mysterious ways. Who is your alter ego? What are the invisible, ever-present influences in your life? These can be salutary, if of the best, or dangerous if of the worst. When you find your true "invisible fellowship" of good influences, you receive a benediction extending into your material prosperity and career as well as emotional health.
[This just in: on Friday there were "gusty storms" on the East Coast, composed of driving rain and harsh winds. Subway tracks were flooded, as well as expressways, with air travel snarled and the rush hour horrendous. The moon was in Cancer, a water sign. Last week I reported that while the moon was in Pisces, the previous water sign, such a storm hit Michigan (and maybe adjacent areas). I am not so simple-minded as to assert that rainstorms always come when the moon is in a water sign. But I think that if weather statisticians would do their work with astrology, they would find some statistical correlations. We will probably have to wait a very long time for that, for they are deathly afraid of anything which might challenge their assumption that they already know all there is to know about the weather. Astrology threatens the presumed basis of physical science in material and efficient causes alone, for it introduces Formal Cause, which physical science neither knows nor wants to know.]
It is interesting how lovely and delicate scenes you might run into, or seek out, flowery with the glories of late summer, have their downside, that is, characters wandering around in them who are unsavory or less than honest or even criminal. Now that is not to make you paranoid, please. It is possible to see dangers, perhaps, everywhere or anywhere. The point is to steer your way through them, which is not so difficult when you have the subtle technique of inner equipoise which detects just what to do and where to go in every situation.
By late Sunday you should feel you have settled some things in a way which gives you greater inward, as well as outward, security. This is clever strategy but at the same time it is deep awareness of the guiding influences in your life which keep you spiritually sound and anchored, no matter what social pleasures you are moved to appreciate and enjoy.
