The fact that the Chilean miners are being rescued---one of the most inspiring stories in a long time---during the |difficult third of the week| shows that good things can be done at such a time. Notice I said "can be done" as opposed to "happen." If you just wait for good things to happen during such a time you probably will be disappointed. Patience and intelligent activity are required.

The wives of the miners and the miners themselves, of course, had to be very patient during the slow process of pulling them up from the bowels of the earth. That is something always required during the |difficult or more painful| third of the week. Then after the husbands rejoined their wives, which had to be in public, they had to be taken immediately to the hospital on stretchers after brief hugs. You see how everyone has to endure delays and has to summon patience during these times. I point this out so you can adjust your attitude during that period, which I try to point out faithfully every week. Of course, the miners and their families were exhilarated that they were safe and returned. That had to do with other things to be mentioned soon.

The |difficult or more stressful and patience-requiring third of the week| will end today (Thursday) at 8:27p PT | 11:27p ET | 3:27a(F) UT. It seems longer this time because the moon is slower and also it happens to end in a late evening rather than early morning as it has been doing recently. So Thursday is still a serious day, but we shall see what it is good for.

On the topic of the miners, they were imprisoned on August 5 (the first day of a |difficult third of the week|) and their rescue started on October 12. The former was during a Dark Hermetic Epoch (which began August 1), the latter toward the center of a Bright Hermetic Epoch. Also, the Gulf oil spill happened during a Dark Epoch and was fixed finally during a Bright Epoch. Such incidents dramatize exactly why I make so much of these periods.

Thursday is quite remarkable. It seems like an "all business" day, and a "go ahead" day. You care about your home as well as your career. Much in your career is undergoing strong development. (I am trying to use words carefully.) "Undergoing strong development" means you are in a position to take a solid, accurate overview of where you are and what you are doing. I recommend during Bright Epochs, just before Mercury conjoins the sun, which is the center of that Epoch (October 16, Saturday, this time) that we sit down and write down our basic plans and strategies. It is likely that you will have a clear vision of them and doing that will help solidify them in your mind. These will have to do with your career basically, but also with your household situation or your headquarters. You can see what is happening and how to take advantage of all factors during the coming period until at least November 22 (and probably somewhat longer). Today might be the best day to do that, although Friday and Saturday are good also.

You want to be a "real mensch" today, a real human being, and could be honest and accurate in self-evaluation. You see the handwriting on the wall as to your business, job, and home. You "get the picture" as to your current limitations (which are not eternal) and your current possibilities. Some are new, most are old, but you can combine new and old in an intelligent pattern as this is revealed to you through the outworking of circumstances as well as flashes of intuition.

If there are immediate business or job decisions, or decisions about your home, you want to make, this could be the day to do it, whether early or in the evening. If all that seems on track, you can discern and pin down what is good about it, what put you in your good position, and how you can stay there.

The day has a social and friendly side also, but it seems subordinate to the major emphases just discussed. Like a child, or with childlike individuals, you may at certain moments discard responsibilities and have some spontaneous fun. You want to be and feel free. Actually the serious stuff we have already discussed, when you face it wisely and well, will give you more rather than less freedom. A friendly and kindly side of people is in evidence, perhaps more in the evening--tinged with the gruffness of the goat (moon in Capricorn). You are a lonely strategist at one level, yet human warmth, even if craggy and humorous, is within reach.
