Four stars is rare, and I am stretching to it even though I never like to promise that much. It should be a good day for getting things accomplished with a minimum of worry and upset. "Oh, this is what I need to do, it's not so bad, it's wonderful to get it done and satisfying to be doing it." 

Other than that, Part of Fortune in 5 always presages "fun" in some way, good times shared, entertainment (although for some it might just be solitary enjoyment of TV or movies). It has a connection with youth, young people and the desire to be youthful or share in youthful, hopeful, carefree pleasures.

That is almost the contrary of the moon-in-Vrgo indication, which is good for focus on practical matters, as in the first paragraph--made specially good now because of Luna's trine with Mars and Mercury. Up and at it! The lunar square with Venus, coupled with the 5th-house Fortuna, suggests unusual attractions which are fleeting but thrilling for the moment. It might be well to enjoy them while refusing to let them interfere with work.

It's 4:30 a.m. where I am, 7:30 in the East. I got up to write this, having had a large day on Tuesday and needing sleep earlier. No quatrains this time, I'm sorry to say because I feel I am getting to the point where they are easier to write and more expressive of something real. Maybe tomorrow . . .

Let's keep ourselves on track with basic work. Everything looks good for that. What you do for income or to maintain good karma could be your best focus for many hours. 

Then there are 5th-house and 9th-house elements which look good for friendly discussion of spiritual, political or philosophic topics. I await the day when people of all differing beliefs can communicate smoothly about such things. Or, maybe that day could be today if we are very patient about all factors.

There can be indigence, laziness, and complaining. (Of course, the 1 per cent think that this is the condition of all of the 99 per cent--or maybe I am not being fair to the 1 per cent since they don't seem to want to be friends with me and so I don't know them well!) Whining, whining, whining! Or, there can be serious research, study, pondering, meditation, and study of ancient writings which have a powerful magical effect for those with the patience to try to get into their spirit. One can feel confident in sharing secrets with people, because after all who cares about your secrets, really? Your friends will respect them, and your enemies, unless they are truly crazy, don't have time to use them against you.

Your mind may be analytic; you can get to the root of practical problems as well as theoretical ones. You may study life after death. I suggest the Readings of Edgar Cayce for information on reincarnation. The book Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation is wonderful. The occult, mystical and profound intrigues you. The serpent has been a symbol of occult wisdom for millennia. I shall not suggest what you should study but please make it the best. You can be silent and watchful, so that you ward off or prevent any disruption to your good fortune. That should be a privilege of those who have developed spiritual awareness. Everything you study points out specific items you need to learn about and confirms that you are close to the right path (if you are).

There remain tyrants in the world. They remain cruel. They remain ignorant of the laws of karma which shall make them cruelly treated slaves in a future lifetime. You are not one of them, I hope. It amazes me that the media, including the New York Times, are not reporting carefully and fully on the purported beheading of thirty or more Christians in Libya (by ISIS). (Their name, of course, is a slander against the goddess Isis.) It got some small mention one day, then disappeared from the headlines. Those who do not think that the media are mostly anti-Christian are not very observant. What we could do this week is become more capable in everything, by emulating and cooperating with those who are "birds of a feather" or involved in the same interests as our own. If that means grinning and bearing some of their idiosyncrasies, we can do it. Maybe they are grinning and bearing ours.

Sometimes there is a laissez faire tendency. Watch for the daily reports giving the moon's void-of-course times. But those times can be wonderful for research and study and discovery. I am writing this weekly forecast during a void-of-course period. Maybe it it totally off or pointless. If so, please let me know. Actually I think that mental work can go well during a v-of-c period, if the research involved in it is solid. I did the research for this forecast mostly before the v-of-c time. But some of it was done just a few hours ago. I notice that I might appear, to you, to be rambling right now. That is a characteristic, often, of the v-of-c periods. It is not wrong but maybe otiose. Shall I just shut up? But there is a deadline for this forecast, approaching. The laissez-faire tendency this week goes along with the admonition against laziness I already gave. Oh, the 99 per cent must be lazy, otherwise they would be rich! Kidding. We are admirers of the beautiful, this week, of the sublime and ideal, as if we worshiped bubbles whose colors blend before they burst. What is wrong with that? The Eternal manifests through the transient. Voila! Let us be ingenuous. Let us let our souls have plenty of time to express themselves.

Oh, there can be fun this week! Don't get me started or I will go too far and promise too much. But if you are not, some of this week, having a good time with friends, please examine why that is true, because it should happen a few times at least. Birds of a feather flock together, and sometimes with birds of a differing feather. "Your friends are my friends, and my friends are your friends, and the more we get together, the happier we'll be." That verse sticks in my head from my childhood when it was broadcast weekly on a radio show for kids. Well, it ain't always true but believing it is good medicine. There needs to be soul-satisfying social experiment. Don't worry about your dirty secrets; everybody has some; let yourself be free of worry so you will spend time without suspicion with those who are sensitive and studious or lovers of art. (Oh, maybe even lovers of Netflix serials.) (Could be me.)

Are there dangers? A few. I feel exalted, which might be the moon void-of-course as I write (sometimes it inspires silly euphoria), but I must say that we could get ourselves in trouble by walking on a precipice. We might not fall, but the scare could be temporarily disabling. Impulsiveness should not date with recklessness. Common sense is needed when one is "high" on something, including life itself and "high hopes." Prudence and reserve are needed even by soldiers, who are not afraid of combat, but only when necessary. Children need to learn to walk in individual ways, and shouldn't be restrained too much, but the less they fall the better. 

An interesting, or painful, dialectic is going on between bodily wealth and contentment, on one side, and suffering on the other. It may or may not be true that one begets the other. Philosophers have disagreed on that. Of course one can observe that they tend to alternate. Obviously overeating or overdrinking produces bad results and suffering. Also, sometimes, a bout of suffering will result in joy when it ends, just because it ain't there--it feels so good to stop banging your head. We try to find the path of balance. Is there ever an awakening to something beyond these dualities, an honest self-realization? Can we let ourselves enjoy life in an almost dissolute manner and then recover our spiritual poise, our implicit divinity?

This seems like a pretty damn' good day. 

I'm always afraid of promising too much. But at least, let's believe that we can push ahead now and do whatever is most significant to us and "get with it" in whatever area is most meaningful to us. There are no serious hindrances. 

An exception could be the symbols for the day, set forth in the poem below. I have to admit that they are just about the inverse of the following forecast:

You can communicate well in connection with whatever has come up.

You can decide on what to do in connection with finances or investments.

You can subordinate personal infatuations to career if necessary. 

High-minded friends are with you in spirit.

Strong mental energy penetrates to the essence of things in regard to research, parentage, and personal honor.

Unfortunately, from an ordinary human perspective, with no planet now located later than 17 degrees of any sign, there will be a lot of void-of-course periods in coming days. Fortunately, however, this gives us a chance to work with these periods, understand them better, and find out individually how to use them.

You might notice how you and others seem lost, or unable to focus on what seems normal activity, wanting to deviate from pattern. This can be "bad," which is why the period has a bad reputation, or "good" if these deviations are somehow refreshing or liberating. 

Career seems important. You could put a lot of energy into it What is most remunerative for you, or settles and organizes your finances? You want to be precise about that, and can do so. What has been successful for you in recent weeks? It remains so, despite doubts, and you can continue to build on foundations established.

Who has been sweet and kind to you in recent days? That is connected with Venus's sextile with Jupiter. She or he remains significant; the sextile continues. You can let each other be, that is, not make demands on each other, but interact in a more free-form manner. 

The following seems wise counsel for a void-of-course day, from Marc Edmund Jones:  "The weakness in the average attempt at meditation is because meditation is thought to be a means to an end rather than an end in itself. The basic interplanetary aspects going on now were listed and commented upon yesterday, to which report I refer you. There were six of them. 

Today there is only one new aspect, 7. Mercury trine Pluto from Taurus to Capricorn. This enhances mental powers. It gives the ability to be persuasive and to strive for recognition. 

The lunar situation is better than Monday, with Luna moving away slowly from her opposition with Saturn, though it is still in effect (hence the |challenging third| designation). The two-star rating should not be depressing, because actually you could turn that into three or four stars if you take advantage of opportunities.

The old man feels forlorn in the midst of young ones 

Who never get what he teaches. His friend the roofer

Is paid for putting a top over brains the teacher cannot

Impact. In a garden of flowers his students languish.

1. Jupiter and Mars in a square shows much energy which can be intense, but could go in peculiar or wrong directions. This can be warfare between religions, as in the abominable killings of Ethiopian Christians by the IS in Libya. I just saw the report about this a few minutes ago and it sickens me. I need to pray for my Christian brothers and sisters in Islamic regions. They are often martyrs in a way American Christians can hardly imagine. It can also be strife in politics, as in the growing opposition to Hillary Clinton among those who sense that she is in a stranglehold by the corporate interests who fund her. Or pick the particular controversy which agitates yourself.

2. Mercury and Jupiter in a square, exact today. It can be disagreement; it can be confused thinking; it can be strife between the intellect (Mercury) and the soul or spirit (Jupiter). I heard a sermon Sunday about the power of the Holy Spirit. I felt afterward like saying, when the congregation had a chance to speak, that our intellects often interfere with or obstruct the guidance of the Spirit, and we need to reconcile the two somehow. The pastor himself contrasted "strategy" with listening to the guidance of the Spirit, which is supra-rational. I did not realize while listening and responding in my mind that Mercury was square Jupiter at that very time. This can be, at best, the successful struggle to rejoin or make friendly the Spirit and the intellect. It is not usually easy, although the Christian hope is that it can become so if our faith is intense. Both the pastor and I were responding to this square of those two planets, unconsciously. Astrology can make us conscious of these amazing correlations which are always going on in the Supermind of the Creator.

3. Pluto and Uranus in a square, which has gone on for month after month and shall continue, although having passed its theoretical peak. This again has correlation with the abominable impatience of the ISIS terrorists. Uranus in Aries the sign of the head, and Mars now in Taurus the sign of the neck and throat, vividly symbolize the beheadings of the Ethipian Christians. This was not fated or planned by G*d, but was a horrid misuse of an energy intended for the self-evolution of humanity rather than for attacks on those who disagree. The best we can do after the fact of such abominations is to learn how to prevent ourselves from being likewise angry or destructive or violent even in thought or feeling, so far as we can. I have no easy prescription for that, but if you are on a spiritual path you will be finding your way to it. Knowing about these aspects which test us can help, which is part of the mission of astrology.

4. Neptune and Venus in a square. This can be love which is held back, frustrated, and therefore spiritualized. The loved one is absent not through quarrel but through temporary fate or perhaps Divine design. The love is real but seemingly stifled. It can be jealousy, insecurity, impressionability, or erotic aberrations. At best it is platonic love---love on a higher plane.

 5. Mars trine Pluto is relief from all of the above, slightly at least. It can be zeal for one's work and a rollicking approach to success. 

6. Venus sextile Jupter--the best for last--is the epitome of what is desirable. It can be popularity, pleasurable events, festivities, sincerity, and social graces. Insofar as we get past the obstacles listed above, this could be our reward. (It is why I gave the latter part of the day two stars instead of one.)

During any |challengning third of the week| we need to get ourselves right with G*d, and perhaps especially this time because of the four squares presented above.

Supplement to Forecast for Friday 17 April

I was tired last night when I wrote the three quatrains which I then titled "Shame." That is not like me, a sort of Cosmic Pollyanna at my best and worst. But I felt that was the way it had to be, and posted what I felt was a dismal, depressing forecast-poem as it had come to me. 

Then Friday morning I found amazing references to "shame" in the Psalm which was next for me to read and chant in my daily reading-chanting of those profound prayers, Psalm 44:

"By Thy help we will throw back our enemies,

in Thy name we will trample down our adversaries.

I will not trust in my bow,

nor will by sword win me the victory; 

for Thou dost deliver us from our foes

and put all our enemies to shame. 

. . . 

Thou hast exposed us to the taunts of our neighbors,

to the mockery and contempt of all around.

Thou hast made us a byword among the nations,

and the peoples shake their heads at us;

so my disgrace confronts me all day long,

and I am covered with shame

at the shouts of those who taunt and abuse me 

as the enemy takes his revenge.

There is some lightening of the harshness, dullness or boringness of things.

Weekend and other plans may come more alive after the moon enters Aries (time above). At that point planning could be more secure.

The moon is winding down--we are in the final days of an Old Moon before the New on Saturday. So it is natural to desire extra rest or recuperation. Things at home or headquarters may be settled smoothly.

Still, people can be fidgety and energy-driven with Mars still square Jupiter. Why not do this, why not do that? is the feeling. Then, it seems, it is easier to coast a bit. The energy and drive may not get much beyond the intentions or the hopes.

People may seem mysterious or remote. Yet Luna sextile both Saturn and Venus, remaining in the fateful opposition aspect, bring balm and consolation to hurt feelings.

I have to say that the evening of Tuesday was in accord with the forecast, in that although it had many good features, for me it ended in an intense disagreement with a very good person. This was hard--correlated with the moon square Saturn, which occurred two hours before this harsh experience, and Venus opposite Saturn which became exact a few ours afterward. I would guess that many all over the world experienced a crisis of friendship or of mutual understanding Tuesday evening. 

Things should be smoother Wednesday, though still intense. I could not honestly give the period more than one star, all day. But what needs to be done can be done, let us hope, without intense stress.

Friendship remains important. We cultivate our friends and they cultivate us.

Work and pleasure mix in ways that seem fateful. Recognition comes only through taking care of multiple details. Yet this need not be distressing.

There is no quick way to satisfy everyone, so the slow path of adjustment and readjustment is our lot. Good business developments are not impossible, though they are probably delayed. 

The best time to contact people for any purpose is before the moon goes void-of-course (time above). After that, easy-going pleasures are more natural, although dissatisfaction may set in and then a desire for something different. Restlessness arises from unsatisfied spiritual needs. 

Your spiritual doctor should be someone with sufficient understanding to lift you beyond yourself. Ultimately, I believe, only Avatars can do that, such as Jesus the Christ, Sai Baba, and Sri Aurobindo.
