\Less is More/
No place to go, nothing to do. No skates, no bike,
No car. No sleigh. He studies a maze of possibilities,
Wondering which could sustain his attempts at
Victory on a battlefield of the dead and dying.
He holds out a bowl full of wine, for those who could
Perhaps appreciate the gesture. But many feel they
Have lost all friends, and so what good the wine?
Might as well go to a club with music and dance.
He is dark, in luxurious suit, surrounded by servants.
He loves this ease. Yet somewhere in his soul
Constancy of principle determines him to listen
Gladly to the voice of prophets living on nothing.
