"A man sowing in the wind" "has little regard to the fitness of things, apt to waste his substance and dissipate his energies." Good Friday should be a day, for Christians at least, for contemplating G*d's sacrifices for humanity. "A truncated cone" could represent someone "who will be cut off in the midst of his or her career" as was Jesus. However, in His case that "cone" reconstituted itself completely and became not just a religion but a path of salvation for non-Christians who do not realize the source of their blessings.
Many will have to go on with their duties, like "a large water-wheel attached to a corn mill." Charubel says that this could indicate a flexible mind capable of mathematical skill and ingenuity. One could earn "a crown and an upright sword" if one is valiant "in the service of one's king" or queen or the Supreme Lord.
The "public market" (that is, the stock market) is closed today, and it is interesting that despite the world's lack of attention to Jesus the financial world gives him at least this much homage. Ultimately the marketplace of both goods and stocks "organizes the converging and conflicting interests of many people in practical arrangements of mutual benefit." We can try to be better than we are, whether in business or otherwise, and so, kneeling, receive "a scepter from a kingly or queenly person" or deity.
