~Holding On to Aspirations~

I have to issue the usual warning during any Dark Hermetic Epoch (until June 27), which seems to be getting denser and harder to deal with as the days go by. Mercury will turn retrograde next Monday. Things which have to come to an end come to an end at these times. People retire. Marriages change or end. But this does not have to be, unless it is absolutely necessary to your destiny. In other words, the danger I am warning against is accepting premature conclusions to something (up to and including suicide). A lot of ordinary deaths, whether chronic or accidental, are refined forms of subconscious suicide, and if you are anyone you know is subject to that, this is not a time to submit to it but to reach upward for something higher, deeper, more lasting to believe in and manifest. Death is too easy; divorce and quitting a job and flipping people off are too easy. We need to take a longer view and believe that things will get better eventually. It is as if some kinds of demons, during the DHE, pull a cloak over our faces shutting out our hopes, wanting us to succumb to despair and defeat. No!
And the following quatrains could be partly demon-inspired, if they were to influence you toward negativity. The negativity in them is intended to be therapeutic, prophylactic, cathartic, so you can avoid the moral illnesses they depict.
A scourge lying on the stump of a tree suggests
Ridiculous cruelty. It belongs to one who despises
The ordinary man of the age--conventional, superficial.
But the waning moon looking down laughs at both.
After the earthquake the building codes were re-examined.
A largehearted person in the heat of the summer
Built a well-designed structure with a winding staircase
Leading up and up to nowhere. Lofty aspirations.
The possessing spirit thought it was Santa Claus,
Although it haunted a beautiful garden in Spring.
It inspired everyone to be generous to a fault,
Offering fruits and flowers, setting up picnic tables.
