}Drilling for Victory{
Moon in Gemini
“An officer preparing to drill his men” is ourselves getting ourselves up for making the best of situations from which we cannot be extricated. This requires precision and efficient adventure. At other moments we might resemble someone in “a dark cavern in a rock whose mouth is covered by a dark somber curtain hanging from a horizontal pole.” Reclusive, we love the mystical, and hidden knowledge.
Two symbols carry over from yesterday, where we had: ‘“An old fashioned clock” denotes someone with “very exact habits, particular in matters of detail, following rules to the letter. Give him a system and he will follow it.” On such a basis one might “cut a prominent figure as the founder and supporter of some gigantic scheme or organization.” That is like “a tremendous Corinthian pillar with a large amount of earth, buildings and rocky ramparts resting on it, apparently the only support of the massive superstructure.” The one-pointedness of the pillar sustains the magnificence of the scheme. One does not shrink from responsibilities when they entail such glory.’ Or one might observe and admire this overweening weightiness of construction in someone else.
Another example of munificence is “a man standing, armed with sword and spear; richly dressed in scarlet and purple, with jeweled clasps, and helmet of fine brass or gold—-apparently prepared for battle and confident of victory.” One likes display and “is willing to assert opinions and evidence powers.” “A smelting furnace” separates the precious metal from the dross and we are engaged in this in one way or another.
