Challenge: Those who are serious about Holy Saturday in the Christian tradition will have a different attitude toward today than others. The symbol 'two prim spinsters' might convey an image of one roommate a believer and the other an atheist, or some other divergence in belief, attitude, or lifestyle, for the keyword is Divorcement. Yet they continue to live together despite their differences. They also might, united,, be 'divorced' from the outside world, creating one of their own (Luna squared to Venus and the sun). Perhaps their living together prevents them from being 'a woman standing in an attitude of dejection, covering her otherwise naked breast with the hair of her head.' That could indicate sorrow, bereavement, or loneliness.
Process: In 'an empty space' one is not inclined to settle down to any plodding work. Charubel says this indicates 'a weak character, open to extraneous influences of any kind.' Perhaps a higher level of this would be the 'emptiness' of spiritual dedication, giving oneself up to the Supreme. That would be contrary to 'a woman holding scales, containing on one side a cup of red wine, on the other golden coins.' She is 'divided between pleasure and wealth, but knows not the true use of either.' Yet earthy delights are not always sinful. The 'scales' could mean we ought to measure our pleasures wisely rather than drift into hurtful extravagance.
Blessing: The Part of Fortune is in the ninth sector, suggesting thoughts of distant places, and we have 'a merchant ship in mid-ocean.' Charubel says this shows traveling or navigation, with lasting success at merchandising or any business undertaking. The month of April in general seems like a prospering one this year. The ninth house is also that of learning and philosophic thought, so we have 'a large archaic volume' as a resource of wisdom including practical guidance. Our background, or our roots, help us 'recover prior advantages' and disentangle from any confusing involvements. The heritage of the past illuminates the present and unloosens its knots.
