Challenge: The New Moon is fresh and young, but one might dilly-dally with projects, feeling like entertainment more than work. 'A man plays with colored balls, an immodest woman standing behind him.' Unprofitable pursuits are not always wrong but could show absence of character-force or worthy ambition, and disapproval between the sexes. "Is this all you are going to make of yourself?" Then we might have 'a large disappointed audience' or a lack of approval from the masses. Even if the colored-ball dude gets his act together he might be disillusioned if he gets no applause at first. He can't make the moods and reactions of others his guide if he is doing something specially his own, for there is a disjunction between their expectations and his.
Process: Venus sextile Jupiter is playful and enjoyable, and again we have 'children skating on ice,' just having fun. This is adventure and 'soul-satisfying experiment.' The cosmos is basically friendly, and it supplies what we need, as if we possessed 'a nice villa on the north-east side of a green field surrounded by shrubberies.' One might possess 'an adequacy to keep him; and with this he has the disposition to be content.' Let others go scrambling for a playboy or playgirl mansion; this is enough. Go skating on the ice in winter, wandering on the shore in summer.
Blessing: Venus is well-favored. 'A fair woman, richly attired, stands alone.' Yet she is not really alone because she attracts friends and favor through her richness of heart, beneficence and helpful counsel. Perhaps the good aspects to Jupiter (a trine from Mars and sextile from Sol) are like 'an open window and a net curtain blowing into a cornucopia.' There is prodigality everywhere, 'unmerited good fortune.' The universe is being munificent, and we can capture its rewards as well as distribute them, be they material, spiritual or both.

P. S. I notice that most readers seem to read the forecasts a day ahead, sometimes on the day they are in force, and almost never on the following day. But I find it very helpful to read them either late in the evening of the day to which they apply, or the next day, while reviewing my experience of the day. Then one starts to see what they really are trying to say, and how accurate they can be.
