\From Separation to Cultivation/

Moon in Taurus
|Karmically serious, sobering, challenging third| of this week is with us (until very late Wednesday evening or early Thursday)

Challenge:  Along with the |difficult third| (above) we have 'a man wheeling a barrow of earth over a hollow run' signifying  'downright hard labor.'  I would soften that to say 'labor which is a little harder than usual, or requiring more stick-to-it-iveness.'  'A man trimming palms' is not sweating, but he is getting rid of impediments, which we might be doing while Luna emphasizes the Saturn-Uranus square.  Useless stuff discarded makes life smoother.

Process:  Like someone inflating or riding beneath 'a balloon' we might feel our efforts, though remarkable, are not producing anything great.  What's the point of it? A somewhat reclusive attitude might overtake us so that we are like 'a horseman, armed as if for battle, watching the waning moon.'  Perhaps we are seen as 'independent and domineering' or we perceive someone else that way.  Sepharial says that our 'fortunes might be severely hurt by a female.'  Isolation is never total but we need not despair if 'going it alone' part of the time.

Blessing:  There's nothing wrong with study, research, pondering, 'the conquests of the mind.'  'An old book is lying open upon a table, beside it a burning lamp.'  Exceptional mental powers, plus a store of ancient learning, result in important achievement.  Those who have cultivated wisdom in the past help us cultivate our own.  They and we do not always have the same viewpoint, for there are alternatives available, seemingly incompatible, yet they are 'a double promise' because when we examine them more closely they are complementary rather than incompatible.  Do you learn from two teachers who seem to disagree, with varying sensibilities? Then you are cultivating your own promise.
