The symbols for Wednesday were terrible. It is not clear exactly what they were referring to, but I think it is awareness of serious issues, such as the debt limit discussions and possible default. And the main headline in the Wall Street Journal is:
"Car accidents, homicides, suicides and drug overdoses have pushed up death rates for children and teens in the U.S."
Some will say this is partly because of vaccination, others will point to other villains, but it is a major concern. On other fronts, important U. S . government leaders are threatened with impeachment, justly. At the personal level, it has been a stressful day for me.

The sad story of persecutions, human beings
Hurting other human beings, is riddled with
Motives and excuses. Some, like a Daughter of the
American Revolution, look to tradition as rectification
Or cure. "Our inheritance is not only worth preserving but
Our only protection against unsympathetic trends."
One such Daughter pursues knowledge with a retentive memory,
Her temper changeful like the moon, her mind versatile,
Acquiring knowledge through travel and scholarship. Hermes'
Caduceus stands between a crescent and a gibbous moon.
She adopts it as her emblem and knowledge leads her on
A very straight road., an interminable perspective.
Her consciousness, evenly balanced through a life
Free of drama, generates happiness.
