~Supernal Satisfaction~
This looks like a strong and sweet transitional day into the Mercury Retrograde period which lasts until December 30. It began Friday at 4:05a PT | 7:05a ET | 12:05p UT. We will be discussing what it means as we go along. Those of you who have been reading these reports for years have a pretty good idea. People are wondering what is wrong and how to fix it, as for example the Wikileaks-Assange imbroglio, the tax-law mess which both parties purportedly want to fix, the demonstrations in the UK against tuition increases, the protests in Haiti over election results, and so on. Also there is a return to the past in one way or another, as today's NYTimes has an article about how people are returning to rabbit-ear antenna TV reception to escape the costs of cable! Retro in a big way. It's review, revisiting, revision, restoration, revamping, and sometimes just rest. Usually things are not completely clear until the period ends, in this case the beginning of 2011. So it is wise not to be impatient.
The old comes up before the new can be found, and carries on into the new. Today high living can be refreshing, convivial, and thrilling. You want to indulge yourself with hearty companions. Survival and continuity are keywords. Blessings are showered from above.
Someone affectionate, devoted and guileless is a solid friend, not hard to find because right at home or in the neighborhood. At the same time, your mind is on more practical matters such as balancing your income and outgo or increasing the former or diminishing the latter. That is possible through thorough analysis of all factors, probably at least ten. You may seem selfish but so long as you are not cruel you are attending to self- interest wisely so you will be in a position to be of some value to the world at large.
You have not lost your honor or prestige; they have survived a challenge. Those who thought you needed to be reformed may need reformation themselves. You find it interesting to survey all situations calmly and arrive at conclusions which defend you from loss. Maybe not enough is coming to you, you feel, yet you can enjoy what you do have without being continually nervous.
The artistic and ornamental are in evidence, as for example Christmas decorations. It is fun to balance things and give in to the holiday spirit, an echo of past Christmases remembered. At the same time, organized effort is needed to procure everything you need. Maybe Christmas cards, since we are in a retro phase, or email equivalents, or writing the annual year-end letter if that is your mode.
One can be initiated into high secrets if one has a dedication to higher study. Then, somehow, this is translated partially into activity with others, even if defensive at first. Beauty and harmony are keys, not always feminine in nature because a football game is a display of both in a more dynamic manner.
Despite concerns about the economy, many will feel prosperous. There could be gorgeous consummations, good fortune, unexpected success. For those who do Christmas shopping it could be a great time for that. Or for making good karma by giving to someone who needs help, or a charity. You are involved with others' problems, whether or no, but this can be tickling rather than depressing. What you get or find today restores the thrill of youth, innocent dignity, limitless hope.
