}Persistence through the Maze{
This is the Third Day of Christmas.
Things are rather intense. The end of the Mercury Retrograde period is Thursday the 30th (the last day of it, it having ended by the 31st) but as any of you know who have read these reports for years, that does not end the symptoms of Mercury Retrograde because the Dark Hermetic Epoch lasts at least two weeks longer, in this case exactly until January 18 (that means exactly through the 17th). It only lessens those symptoms; it does not end them.
The symptoms are: listlessness, uncertainty, moaning, groaning, things being late, things delayed, backward decisions, a longing for the past, a confusion about the future, mixed up communications, people missing appointments or being late, machines not doing what they are supposed to do (electronic instruments such as computers and phones are machines), mainly because there has been human error somewhere along the way, daydreaming, and so on. It includes making bad decisions, longing for other worlds and other dimensions, powerful dreams. It can be at its best high idealism and convincing mysticism. We can contact higher planes awake or asleep. The quick and the dead mingle.
Today, Monday, there could be communal work, cutting through red tape, getting things cleared away, so long as it has something to do with your basic work or profession. You need not expect perfect or convincing returns from such work yet but that should not thwart your faith in continued effort.
It is better not to distrust people too much. They are hard to figure, because they are going through the toils of the retrograde period as you are, and are unsure about many things. It is better to trust and wait than to lose faith in them. You can examine things through the lens of your intuition and insight, and know what to do in your job, which is after all your reason for being in the eyes of the world---"what do you do" means "what are you good for." Mastery on higher planes usually precedes mastery on lower ones, that is, mastery of oneself, swaraj, precedes mastery of the world, samraj. (Sri Aurobindo's Synthesis of Yoga)
People you deal with or talk with are likely to be saying things which come from the Invisible. What does that mean? Maybe from discarnate spirits, maybe from telepathic invasion from someone, a relative or friend, or whatever the Invisible might mean in a specific case. We do not live in hermetically sealed containers; we are permeated by all the invisible planes of reality. This can be a benediction if we are open to the very highest planes, that is, levels of consciousness, beyond worry, hate, fear, and similar absences of faith. When you hear fear-mongering, you do not have to0 heed it. Of course you should use reasonable precautions, and listen to real warnings from the Invisible if they are real warnings and not fake warnings designed to make you miserable. Socrates had a Daemon which warned him when he was about to make a serious mistake. But that divine entity did not make him a paranoid, afraid of things which will never happen.
Life is not entirely a maze, though it seem like one during the Dark Epoch. There are limits to what you have to untangle, although you need to untangle your shoe laces if they are tied together. Deciding quickly what needs to be done, versus what ought better be consigned to Benign Neglect for a while, is a sine qua non for getting through the Dark Epoch happily. At best you might tap into a prophetic gift which allows you to do that more effectively. You will see into power and the power structure and know which people are doomed to fall and which are on the rise. Those doomed to fall are not doomed arbitrarily, but because they do not have the vision which could hold them to an upward course. Those rising are rising because they have some at least of that vision. Too-personal loyalties cannot last if they are not based on something evolutionary and progressive in both individuals.
At times the pressure of life and its confusing mazes leads one to drop everything for the sake of momentary enjoyment. "Let's have some fun while we can" is the temporary motto. There is animated activity, whether sports or dancing. There is speed and skill, which need not end in an accident but could if injudicious. Naturally it is well to be careful if pushing ahead into uncharted territory.
There is a sort of pugnaciousness which is antagonistic but only in play, that is, for the sake of the game. A pastime of Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, is fencing. One can be indomitable psychologically as well as physically, as in daring to reveal more of oneself than one had before. This is erotic and restless, exploratory. You are making discoveries which open a path to better friendships and more lasting success. Seeing the path occurs long before walking to its destination. Such illumination fosters hope, needed while facing everyday duties.
