}Trials as Background to Achievement{

Moon in Aquarius
|Karmically serious or sobering third| of this week ends at 2:19p PT | 5:19p ET | 9:19p UT
Full Moon of Leo-Aquarius is exact at 9:00a PT | 12:00p ET | 4:00p UT (but its influence felt much longer)

"A vessel rolling in the trough of a rough sea" suggests escapades and trials one has endured, which are strong in consciousness and proffer security because after all one has survived them.  Present uncertainties and changes are illumined by the Full Moon and so one has a handle on them, or more than one, because full consciousness sees multiple factors at once.   "An old sea captain rocking" has endured many a turbulent surge and now his rocking simulates a hospitable sea breeze.  In retrospect he relives battles and happy events which yield to him fresh power.

"A young man of dishevelled appearance sitting on a barren rock by the sea, weeping" is meeting the Venus quincunx Saturn aspect appropriately, with melancholy.  He is dependent and confiding, not a bad chap, even sympathetic, but disappointment in love or bereavement has brought him to tears.   So he does not want to be like the "big-business man at his desk" who au contraire is participating efficiently in everyday affairs through organizational powers.  Or, if he pulls himself together, he might emulate this latter individual, feeling challenged to prove himself.

The "winter of the summer" is cool or chilly feelings as brought by Mercury's opposition with Saturn, which says "remove your sentiments from your appraisal of possibilities and just get real."  But "a young girl feeding birds in winter" confronts barrenness with generosity and hospitality.  Giving of self opens doors to giving to self.  The music of the spheres is as "a hidden choir singing."  It can make life "a symphony of cosmic reconciliations" (Dr. Jones).  Such can be the magic of a summer Full Moon.
