~It Takes All Types~
A venerable man seated in an uncertain light; before him are several books, and various scientific instruments surround him. Studious and intuitive. Mental vision will see where others are in the darkness. Acting from solitary motives; devoted to the inner meaning of Nature's workings. Inclined to solitariness, yet always surrounded by friends. Sought after while seeking none. Mystery. b

An ancient bas-relief carved in granite. Foundation. s
A man of tottering and uncertain gait, carrying water which he spills on the ground. Weak and disorderly; prone to go astray. Loses credit and substance through faulty judgment. Wavering. How shall he act who does not know what he desires? Instability. b
A man holding a fowl by the neck in the act of strangling it. Cruel and cowardly; would take advantage of the weak and defenseless. c
A vista extending to a great distance; on either side are majestic trees covered with a profusion of foliage. Fond of landscape paintings. Artistic gifts. Open to enchanting visions. Specially idealistic. c
A man muffled up, with a rakish silk hat. Sophistication. s
A place of amusement with music, dancing, and singing on the program. A very large ballroom. Takes an active part in such a calling; yet will not become a great musician or actor, nor yet a great anything. c
It felt therapeutic just reading through these symbols. They present a fascinating scanrio. Human life is more entertaining and enlivening than we give it credit for.
We are poised between the ancient granite bas-relief, our foundation, and the tottering man who spills water everywhere.
There can be cruel or exploitative urges, but instead of yielding to them we open to the beauties of Nature, enchanting visions, artistic idealism.
We can be the mysterious student of nature's secrets who attracts people because they sense his inner peace and self-command, or we can be the rakish gentleman whose clothing and demeanor evoke sophisticated humor and bonhomie. Children and youthful people like both types and are drawn to them. So let's have a party--and everybody sings or dances, and nobody cares who is "good" or "bad" at it--The process is what counts, the sheer aliveness. Voila!

c: Charubel, 19th century clairvoyant who was John Thomas
s: Sabian symbols which came through psychic Elsie Wheeler, interpreted by Marc Edmund Jones
The symbols and their interpretation are intended to apply basically during the hours from dawn to midnight. Often a planet will move from one degree to another during the day, so I use a time near mid-afternoon for all of them, so that they shall be exactly right during most, often all, of the daylight hours. The period from midnight to dawn could partake of the nature of either day or both.
