Two men fencing with swords. A duelist, pugilist or gymnast; does not admit an equal; formidable kind of opponent. c
A general accepting defeat gracefully. Expediency. s
A horrid sight! A naked man being grievously tortured, with blood flowing. c
A spacious hall, like a museum, the walls of which are covered with symbols and hieroglyphics. A student of the mystical, or an antiquarian; curious studies. c
A well-favored cow, grazing in a park, in the shade of two trees. Complacent, contented. Attracts attention by physical powers or beauty. Comfort and happiness dissociated from labor, and inclining to luxury. Success and contentment in attachments. Bodily Wealth. b
A troubadour stands with one foot upon the ledge of a rock, his instrument slung at his side; he is listening to the music of a cascade which falls at his feet. Bohemian habits, refined tastes, a love for things beautiful, music, poetry, art. A roaming life; happiness but not fame. Talented. Content in the possession of his powers, thinking too little of wider uses. Strong imagination, love of the marvelous, sensitive to the opinions and influence of others. Harmony. b
The garden of the Tuileries. Luxury. s
None of these symbols are to be taken as inevitable fate, especially the negative ones. I abhor the "torture" symbol but report it dutifully because it might be a clue to something we need to overcome. No one ever has to be tortured, in the Kingdom of Heaven, and we must approach that Kingdom with all due speed, eliminating all cruelty first in our own thoughts and hearts and then as far as possible in the world at large. Jesus, Sai Baba, and a multitude of spiritual teachers have shown the way. We ought to pray for those unfairly imprisoned or treated cruelly. And do whatever we are led to do to aid them.
The duelers and the general accepting defeat gracefully seem to go together, for if there is a duel, someone has to lose; unless it should be a draw, as all duels ultimately, perhaps, must be when the karma of the participants has been worked out.
Pars Fortuna in the 5th sector of play or pleasure helps to bring home the reality of the remaining four symbols. They speak of something beautiful, refined and cultured, on sublime levels, and I hope we may experience that profoundly.

Cosmic Piper
b: Signor Borelli, 19th century clairvoyant; interpreted by Sepharial who was Walter Gorn Old
c: Charubel, 19th century clairvoyant who was John Thomas
s: Sabian symbols which came through psychic Elsie Wheeler, interpreted by Marc Edmund Jones
The symbols and their interpretation are intended to apply basically during the hours from dawn to midnight. Often a planet will move from one degree to another during the day, so I use a time near mid-afternoon for all of them, so that they shall be exactly right during most, often all, of the daylight hours. The period from midnight to dawn could partake of the nature of either day or both.
