A man out in mid-ocean on a raft, famished and in pitiable distress. Loneliness, indigence; an outcast. Traveling. Isolation. b
A burning brand beneath the paw of a lion, whose rage is against it. Sedition. Affairs marred by one's own violence. Strife, wrath. Force turned against oneself. Disintegration. b
A large encampment consisting of women, little children, old people and invalids; a man at the gate keeping guard. A noble person, a true knight; defender of the defenseless, benefactor of the poor and indigent. c

The first two disturbing symbols need not upset us but could be warnings. Perhaps the third, the "true knight," is the answer, that is, considering others' problems more than one's own and doing something about them, as in, also, nurturing the albatross. Then there is a transition to a higher level of consciousness (fairy) and an ability to rule or command, and receive due reward, the pot of gold---if we can keep our faith strong during this Mercury Retrograde period, which tests us when the same old issues seem to keep coming up for renewed attention. Mercury's station and turning point is the 15th, but the still hard (though probably better) Dark Hermetic Epoch continues until May 3. We can keep our eyes on the rainbow and its pot of gold through all the backtracking and turmoil. Venus moving gently toward a trine with Saturn and Mars means that love is present in covert if not overt form. Our faith in it increases it.
