Not only is there a Full Moon but many aspects are near exactness, as if the cosmos were speeding up at this point of the "real" beginning of the fall election campaign in the U. S. A.  I see that Biden is "coming out" to make more forceful speeches.  But I am not going to make this a political blog, or even comment very much on the election.  I am actually in the center, seeing good things about both candidates and both parties.  But to discuss all that here would take us away from being an astrological forum where I present forecast-meditations designed to help individuals through each day.  No matter which side you are on, I don't think you want to be perplexed and sidetracked by my political commentaries, even if I try to make them as impartial as possible.  Still, it may be appropriate to mention some features of the campaign, with as little bias as possible, as we go along.

Tuesday:

Challenges:  One might be disjoined from friends over misunderstandings and differing values.  You are disappointed in them as they in you.  "Get over it" is easy to say, but there may be lurking cupidity and passion, as if "a dark woman masked" were "standing near a bag of money upon a table."  You may not be being swindled, but it may seem that way.  You might also feel there is too much uncertainty, as if your hopes were "a meteor or falling star," self-consumed before they fall to earth.  Venus opposite Saturn sometimes brings on the feeling "I just have to go it alone."  

Opportunities:  The Full Moon makes us feel we can do anything, as if "gamblers at a racetrack."  In certain moods you might trust people in a gracious, chatty way, bubbling over with benevolence.  Then you may turn to more soulful thoughts, with love for the sublime, or mystical.  Trees are your friends.  The Full Moon puts contrary or seemingly irreconcilable thoughts and gropings all together in a sort of minestrone.  

Blessings:  "Two heads looking out and beyond the shadows" hint that true intelligence has to have two bases for its thinking and tentative conclusions.  Intellectual genius and mechanical ability both require balanced perceptions.  Someone who says gruffly the opposite of what you believe might help you get a fresh, more complete angle.  When some things are blocked, repose might be restorative, "contentment and happiness in luxury, people reading on davenports."

Heads-up for Labor Day weekend:  Sunday and Monday should be better for most events, pleasures and get-togethers than Friday and Saturday.

Monday:

Difficulties:  Venus opposite Pluto can lead to memorable issues regarding sex and money.  Often it shows sex for money, or money for sex, or else some obsessive attraction or compulsion which has dark or devious motivations.  Here is how Signor Borelli symbolizes it:  "A bag of money upon a table, near to which stands a dark woman masked."  One might not know how to use one's good fortune, or might subject oneself to others' machinations and so be victimized.  (This is specially possible because Saturn also is involved.  It might affect one's viewing habits, for oddly enough I have been watching a Netflix thing called The Impostors which precisely pinpoints the issues just mentioned.  Warning:  I do not recommend the series although I enjoyed parts of it.  It tends to deflate one's view of human nature.)  Rather than get involved in all that, it might be better to be self-reliant, taciturn, and self-contained, like "a horseman armed, moving across the desert toward some woody hills."  

Opportunities:  You might be involved with "Nature's mysteries" or study them, or be happily influenced by "a revealer of the strange or the curious."  There is nobility and high aspiration, so one might emanate positive energies which uplift others. This might happen in a country-like scene or park, near trees.

Blessings:  "Two heads looking out and beyond the shadows" are able to see both sides, and how we need that!  It seems that political discourse is not valued, only political bickering.  Let's aim for "stereoscopic reasoning."  Both heads and viewpoints are required.  A generous, beneficent attitude brings favor.  Then someone, perhaps you, will have "a dark shadow or mantle thrown suddenly over the right shoulder."  One's destiny might involve some advanced leadership or supervision if one feels worthy of that.

Challenges:  There could be a stagnant situation, in which one "procrastinates with fortune" in an indolent way.  Further, there could be an unfortunate and costly relationship to one's detriment.  There is a "large disappointed audience" whether one is in that audience or one is a performer whom that audience rejects.   There could be solace in the consolations of religion, yet even there some narrow-minded individuals could be more on the side of dogma than of the Divine.  If one can discriminate and choose the latter, that is all to the good.

Opportunities:  "A woman and two men on a bit of sunlit land facing south" suggests indecision, but a chance for the inception of a new situation.  As "a man making a futurist drawing," you want to experiment (Luna square Uranus) and the ultimate result of that could be distinctive, progressive.  The mind can be expanded.  In contrast to that is "a farmyard with cows," that is, symbolically, familiar, easy-going, unchallenging neighbors or strangers.  The new and old mingle successfully.

Blessings:    Having explored and discovered fresh territory, you could make a temporary headquarters.  This may be unstable and subject to change, yet while you work with it it is "a strong castle on a high rock."  Hidden, secretive matters are resources, indicated by "a crown on a flag extended in the wind."  You dare to be masterly.  There is a "richly attired, well-favored woman" who could be yourself or someone  who generously aids you toward gain.

Challenges:  You may feel you are doing more for others than they for you.  There is mutual criticism, or criticism of others, as in "a meeting of a literary society."  Some chitchat is friendly, but if it goes awry or gets destructive there is "a large disappointed audience" or a feeling of disjunction between yourself and those who could appreciate you.  

Opportunities:  Connections with the manager of a restaurant, or a food-server, could be mixed, partly good and partly upsetting because of misunderstanding or resentment.  People don't feel properly appreciated.  Dairy products, says Charubel, could be helpful.  People such as old roommates could be in your mind, perhaps sadly because you miss them or wish things had turned out better with them.  When you were together it was like "first dancing instruction;" you were assisting each other to participate in the rhythms of life.  They may be with you in spirit, or thinking of you.

Blessings:  Quiet success in life is unheralded, enjoyed contemplatively.  You are like "a fair woman, richly attired, standing alone," enjoying the favor of many or all, appreciating luxuries.  You get attention but are not greedy for it. Challenges:  "A man asleep in the heat of the day, some implements beside him" sounds to me like a needed siesta, but Sepharial says it shows indolence, or lack of interest and energy.  One might "dream when he should be working."  Therefore when it comes time to use one's talents, there is "a large disappointed audience."  However, this disjunction between what one does and what the "audience" wants could show that one ought not to "make the momentary mood of the masses a guide for the values one should pursue." Indeed, some around you could be "fretful and peevish," interested only in "toys or common ornaments of glass or tinsel," that is, lacking the refined taste which would appreciate your talent or skill.

Opportunities:  Charubel says we might be thinking about cows, milk, cheese or butter.  Venus in Cancer the sign of cows is trine Neptune in Pisces so some dairy product might be good for you.  "A harem" is not interpreted in the Sabian system  as the opportunity of a male for unlimited sex, but as the restraint and subordination of women, something to be accepted, sometimes, as "an enforced conservation of energies" but at other times to be "rejected at any cost."  Self can be manifested more dynamically (or womanifested shall we say).  The human and divine laws which govern the relations between the sexes may grant insight or resolution. 

Promises:  "A fair woman, richly attired, stands alone."  Through goodness of heart she attracts friends and gains attention.  "Standing alone" could mean that, though favored, she does not make demands.  "A man and woman standing with their backs to one another" shows reserve, maybe bashfulness or awkwardness, yet the affections are sincere and the disposition kind, though modest.  "A woman is awaiting a sailboat" so perhaps we ought not to be overeager.  Venus opposite Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn suggests a need for utter patience where affections and love-relations are concerned, even detachment, with trust in Time's tardy yet sure boons. Equanimity gives peaceful perspective on ramifying potentialities.

Warnings:  There can be decadence of one sort or another, perhaps overindulgence in food or drink, or giving up on important matters too easily so that there is embarrassment or a fear that someone important will find one remiss.  Rather than assuming that others or oneself are at fault, some personal initiative is required.  Otherwise one may feel like this:  "A waning moon, amid a bank of clouds, dimly reveals a ship at sea, but all disabled."  One might be unsettled, roving, unstable.  However, one could turn this around especially if active mentally, for Mercury is trine Jupiter plus Uranus and one could be scientific, inventive, experimental. 

Opportunities:  "Two men in fierce strife" is pretty clear in terms of the fact that Donald Trump shall make his acceptance speech tonight.  Sepharial says of someone who has this degree prominent, "His nature is devoid of frankness and he does not admit the truth even to himself, but opposes all and everything on whatever ground is open to debate."  (Trump does not have a planet at this degree but Jupiter is there right now, and no doubt many perceive him in this light.)  "A prima donna singing" seems also appropriate.  Nevertheless I have been interested in both parties' conventions, having listened to them since childhood.  It's as if somehow people trying to be better than they are, and expressing their aspirations for themselves and the nation, is therapeutic, and we get two weeks of that every four years.  True, at times it may seem like "a merry-go-round" but that opens up receptiveness and creativity as well as mere diversion.

Blessings:  "A king, emperor or commander on horseback" is what DJT would like to be.  Apart from that, you yourself may discern elements in yourself capable of such a role.  Luna trine the sun gives a sense of inner power.  At the social level, Venus, both challenged and blessed, could emerge as "A man and woman playing together, with fruits, flowers and wine upon a table beside them."  This is youthful animal spirits, mirthfulness, and pleasure.

Warnings:  Mars is moving very slowly and so we have had the degree "A man richly apparreled, having lost his foothold, is falling to the ground" for several days and it sticks.  Some will see this as Trump, some perhaps as Biden, or whatever your political predilections suggest.  More important, we could each notice this syndrome in some individuals in our lives.  They may be fine people, and as used to be said "of good family," but we may note that they are "off" on some things, or have "lost their foothold" in those areas.  It is harder to see this about ourselves, of course.  We can try to recover, to be "a man dressed as a groom, riding on a spirited horse," that is, to carry out some mission or useful service.  We might fail to "make adequate provision for future contingencies" as Charubel warns, that is, be too blithe when we could be acting.

Opportunities:  "A soldier prepared for battle" is "of ready spirit, quick to respond to the calls of duty and honor."  Luna is forming a trine with Mars in fire signs, Mars being in Aries the (sometimes) warrior sign.  There are executive powers, efficiency, and well-earned credit.  Something one can accomplish is "a great deed" (Charubel) symbolized by "a large building," something long-lasting.  The path to that could be "lost opportunity regained in the imagination" and then regained in fact through reformulated action.  We are in a period when perceptions and plans are likely to be "on."

Blessings:  Luna is square Neptune before trining Mars, so there are also other-worldly trends, "a man dreaming of fairies."  One's outlook, inspired by happy dreams, can summon practical wisdom.  At a more earthy level this could be gardening, or joying in someone else's work with nature.  Fairies are said, by some clairvoyants, to reside in well-kept gardens.  Or at the human social level we have "gondoliers in a serenade" or "the ever-exuberant music of life itself."  Venus is trine Neptune in water signs.  Sentiments can crescendo into a symphony or, more intimately, a love-song.

Hardest:  There is defensiveness and aggressiveness about personal property or money.  There can be too many artificially constructed pleasures rather than those provided and approved by nature.  Some may forfeit whatever dignity and influence they have gained through decadent judgment or lack of persistence.  

Better:  A turn toward nature, whether gardening or relaxing into nature's glories, is helpful.  There is intimacy among human types, symbolized by "a colored child playing with white children."  Differences are not rejected but embraced.  Some may waste time and means on luxuries, to satiety: "A cluster of faded exotics, very sweet and sickly to the smell." 

Best:  You can reformulate whatever has been "in the works" or in your mental speculations.   This does not have to go on forever, with utter weariness, but can reach a plateau when it feels complete. Then later you might want to revise some of it again, but this will not be an ordeal but the natural growth of your understanding and competence--toward another plateau of restful victory.  Personal industry which results from this clearer understanding provides benefits to others as well as yourself, "a hen is scratching for her chicks."  Natural productivity results in "a field of corn standing high and ripe."  Right thinking and well-directed aspirations make for a life of competence and peace.

~Turmoil off and On; Security~

Dangers:  I have spoken frequently of the square between Mars and Saturn, exact today.  Not only are these two the "malefic" planets according to the ancients, each is in its own sign (Aries for Mars, Capricorn for Saturn) which makes them very powerful. Further, each is at a critical degree (a little-used ancient measurement which I have verified in personal observation for years).  Further, Mars is direct while Saturn is retrograde, and an astrologer friend insists that this "squeeze" makes any harsh aspect much more intense.  It is not the end of the world but there is no wonder that many are feeling challenged.  Here are some wise words about this aspect from the superb astrologer CEO Carter:  "Hardness or sternness," "severity turned inward," "inner austerity and self-discipline."  There is  an "off and on" when it comes to endeavors, sometimes spells of laziness, or dropping things when they no longer amuse.  "A certain amount of selfishness or egoism."  "Often even when there is real kindness of heart, the native likes to go his own way, and will not readily turn aside from what interests him personally in order to minister to others.  There is an inclination to impatience with those who do not readily agree."  

Whoa!  Astrology is incredible and those who do not think it is real are perfect asses.  Or worse, intolerant stupid bigots!  More evidence:  Just as I copied the above from Dr. Carter, I thought of Lucifer, the Devil portrayed by Tom Ellis, and I thought, "That sounds exactly like him!"  So I checked his horoscope again, and lo and behold, Tom Ellis was born with Mars at 11 Sagittarius exactly square Saturn at 12 Virgo!  Eureka!  Astrology wins again, bigtime.  Those who deny its validity are wearing facemasks over not their nose and mouth but their eyes and ears.  Also, the much-awaited fifth season of Lucifer debuted just yesterday, during the peak of this Mars-square-Saturn aspect!  Ellis as Lucifer routinely is "impatient with those who do not readily agree," calling them insulting names. Actors always have horoscopes perfectly representing the characters they portray, especially when they are in a long-term series like this.  And I believe you will see similar "impatience" in the current political atmosphere and in discussions with friends.   

More from Dr. Carter on this aspect:  "A life of hardship and suffering, as well as the undergoing of physical violence."  "Strain and excess, followed by a need for prolonged rest, rigid attention to dietetic and other restrictions, and otherwise 'paying the price.'"  "It does not by any means forbid success, though this will come later and after severe struggles."  Those clues are for us now, and until February 2021, for Mars shall go retrograde and slowly continue this seemingly endless "rub against Saturn."

Dangers, continued, for Monday:  "A man, richly attired, having lost his foothold, is falling to the ground."  This shows "want of judgment and persistence," or "decadence."  However, "a lightning flash" shows a great fund of energy.  One can clear away doubts and be, or find, a source of illumination.  Then one might engage in some patient and deliberate research, as if "busy at work with some scientific instruments" (Mercury trine Uranus).  

Opportunities:  Working with or being around green growing things could be comforting and strengthening.  "An artificial globe" suggests travel, or the study of distant places, making discoveries (Mercury trine Uranus).   "An elephant with his castle on his back" has cool courage plus sagacity.  He is "a defender and helper of the weak."  You may give or receive such assistance.

Blessings:  "Lost opportunity regained in the imagination" means we can reformulate plans.  "Two angels bringing protection" suggests security through sure convictions.  "The germ grows into knowledge and life" because living substance presses forward and unfolds.  The moon has left the Via Combusta, though still in Scorpio while sextile Jupier, Pluto and Saturn.  This is quiet security or restful stability.

~Investigating a Path to Recovery~

If at first . . .  Some are feeling struck by poverty.  This can make one inclined to be agnostic or atheist (though the theist would say that believing would help eliminate the poverty).  "A man, richly attired, having lost his foothold, is falling to the ground."  This could be "the breaking up of families and the loss of their traditions."  We might enjoy seeing a rich person lose his privileges, or we might marvel at how he or she recovers, as in the comic series Schitt's Creek.  From the blankness of a clean piece of paper, something better can emerge.  Or at least one calculates toward such an end, as if life were a problematical theory (sun and Mercury in Virgo).

you don't succeed, . . .   One might attend to gardening, for the sight and pleasure of growing things is therapeutic.  Or one might peek around at the neighbors, "a man peeping around a corner at a company of men in the act or reconnoitering."  Life is interesting.  And more intellectual puzzles or interests might also satisfy, or lead somewhere.  "A man before a square with a manuscript scroll before him" is preparing his prospects in a rigorously reasoned manner.  He is suffering the travail of the current Mars square with Saturn, yet attempting to get a handle on it.

try, try again.    Monday is something to look forward to.  "Lost opportunity" is being "regained in the imagination."  One is reformulating potentials in a fluid way.  "A large white cross upraised" could help, for it holds before your vision a hope of resurrection from whatever you have felt mournful about.  "A Hercules or Samson standing over a slain lion" has overcome dangers, yet is soft and gentle to those dependent.  Such spiritual conquest is invulnerable, preparing a path to tomorrow, which looks better (Monday). .

Those who pretend to attainments, powers, or abilities they do not have may get your attention.  They may think they "possess more gifts than they can hold," yet others see them as charlatans.  At worst, they could even fall into semi-criminal pursuits.  "A wolf carrying away a lamb" is reminiscent of the QAnon conspiracy nonsense, yet in more reasonable contexts it could describe what is happening somewhere.  Those who mislead children are not always sexual predators.  The "lamb" might also be an innocent or naive adult.  

Others may just relax at home and be like "a pool of water," easy-going and content with only a little.  Although their abilities may not be evident, they yet could make surprising discoveries.  They are maturing and developing character by accepting some (no matter how small) responsibility.

If one rises beyond the |difficult third of the week|, which is at its most intense tonight, and the Via Combusta (trial or confusion), one could enjoy times of festivity, as if at "a festival or occasion for the assembling of villagers in gala costume."  "People who have overeaten and enjoyed it" might just be satiated or they might have tummy-aches.  Yet there could be friendship or conviviality, provided one deals patiently with companions' sad or distraught moods.  They might respond by conferring trust upon you.

It goes without saying that prayer, and humility before the Supreme, are supremely helpful.

Worst:  "Whining and cringing instead of acting and achieving" (Sepharial).  It seems utterly natural to complain when things seem against us (Mars square Saturn) but rather we could rouse ourselves to be aware of fresh ways to improve any difficult situation.  That would be Discovery of some approach which has value for the world as well as ourselves.  If we are so deep in thought that no conventional avenue seems appropriate, we are like "a very old man facing a vast dark space to the northeast."  Dark moments yield to the soul's sanction of endless mystical quest.  Darkness can be comforting.  One can refind incipient subjective purpose, eternity as present.

Easier:  "An unsealed letter" suggests invasion of privacy, or else confidence that one can trust someone with secrets.  Trust is happier than distrust.  "A juggler standing before an audience" has the skills and paraphernalia he needs to do whatever he pleases and bring it off impressively.  No matter any differences of opinion, one feels loyalty to anyone whose faith in one's merits acts as a rope to draw them out.  

Home free:  Equipped with "more gifts than one can hold," one is able to choose the best.  "An old sage, sitting by his midnight lamp, is studying some grand problem."  Answers come in any Bright Hermetic Epoch and we are at the center of this one, with Mercury in his own sign joined to the sun, so you night see into whatever has baffled you and attain answers worthy of being written down for future reference.  "A bunch of flowers, over them a bright star flashing and sparkling in a deep blue atmosphere" are sweet omens of success or attaining a good position in which one enjoys poetical and gentle interests.

Hardest:  Fiddling with and manipulating tangible things is needed and one feels better when, and after, doing it.  At the same time there are more abstract matters, of mathematics or philosophy or complex thinking, which one could also attend to successfully, but there is a likelihood that one would shirk those matters and thereby lose some potentially remarkable insight or discovery.

Smoother:  "One hand slightly flexed with a very prominent thumb" shows a determination to be steady and self-responsible, to hold up one's end of any project or group activity, and thereby gain "a scepter presented to one kneeling by a kingly person."  This could be very practical ambition and attainment (moon in Virgo trine three Capricorn planets).  Yet there is something more other-worldly and fey, "a mermaid" said to represent an appetite for experience and "the nascent eagerness of the soul for a private and personal participation in every possible facet of self-fulfillment."  (Dr. Jones)  That fits with Venus's continuing sextile with Uranus.  Someone inveigles you to share delights together, or you, her or him.

Hardest:  Some symbols warn against danger and recommend that one stay at home or in a secure place.  "A dagger lying beside a skull" is not to be taken literally though Jupiter was in that degree on 9/11/2001.  Mars's square with Saturn, now within two degrees, has a semi-violent reputation though usually it just means wrestling with hard matters requiring persistence.  At the intellectual level, one may work hard figuring things out and make a discovery; "a new idea will dawn on the world" says Charubel.

Smoother:  An embarrassment of possibilities could mean that one is not sure of one's direction; "many little birds on the limb of a large tree" suggest ramification of choices beyond the reasonable.  A fretful, mournful, or gloomy tendency could be overcome by reassuring oneself that losses are temporary in the eternal scheme of things  Then one realizes that one is "possessed of more gifts than he can hold."  Again there is plurality, "too much" perhaps.  Yet one is equipped with what one needs to "attempt all things."

Smoothest:  Luna's trine with Uranus plus sextile with Venus, those two in a sextile of their own, might bode well for Kamala Harris's planned speech tonight.  "A Chinese woman nursing a baby with a message" is one of the more peculiar symbols.  Because it arose in a mid-20th-century-American context, "Chinese" could mean simply "foreign or unusual."  Kamala's father is Jamaican and her mother Indian.  If she is the "baby" it appears she will try to articulate her "message" today.  (For Trump supporters the symbol is more ominous, for they believe that Biden and Harris are naively unaware of the nature and danger of the Chinese Communist Party.)  Whatever shall materialize through Kamala Harris remains to be seen.  Meanwhile "two hands linked in a close grip of friendship" points to the partnership between her and Joe Biden, which no doubt shall be celebrated in the speeches of those two tonight and Thursday.  "A kingly person, presenting a sceptre to one kneeling" has obvious political implications, which I leave to you to decipher or imagine.  On the personal level however it could be yourself granting some favor or authority or seal of approval to someone you like, or the other way around.  This is merit allied to ambition, resulting in attainment.  You and someone close stand in mutual admiration.

Most difficult:  New Moon times often have a "doldrums" feel to them, an "interim" feeling.  Where one ought to be is not always clear.  Travel might be desired but financial conditions don't seem to permit it.  "A stranded vessel on a low, sandy beach" could hint at a new beginning after one's sojourn on the sandbanks, merely a detour.  Still, we have the intense Mars aspects pointed out in recent days, especially his square with Saturn, which is aptly marked by "a dagger," "a quarrelsome, argumentative nature, always on the alert to attack, to oppose, to argue.  Very executive, but by no means constructive in disposition, hence liable to go through life like a tornado, remarked but not esteemed."  (Sound like someone on the national stage?  In fact, the sun now is on Donald Trump's Mars, but this seems to make him somewhat more popular according to the most recent polls.)   

Smoother:  One's sensibilities are capable of dexterous adjustment to meet "a double promise" or possible gains offered in two directions at once.  "A rock falling on the head of a man" seems to be what happens to Donald Trump's enemies, though it also happens to himself at times.  Often this is merely at the level of insult or intended wittiness, so we have "a clown making grimaces" and this might show a tack taken by certain speakers at the Democratic Convention.  You and a friend might share problems somewhat humorously.

Smoothest:  One is willing to curb one's impulses (Mars square Saturn) in order to keep oneself in shape, as through diet and exercise.  That is all to the good, leading toward a "Daybreak" at this time of a New Moon, or the genesis of fresh potentials through ever-recurring cycles of change.  Venus sextile Uranus coincides with "a young girl playing on a lyre," that is, musical or artistic tastes and performances, which grant amusement and restored youth.

Hardest:  Those who feel unmoored, perhaps without a home or with a fluctuating household condition dependent on someone else, long for a different place to hang their hat, but conditions now are against that.  It's still the |difficult third| plus the final two days of an Old Moon when there is not momentum toward the fresh but a necessary clinging to the prior.  One might feel like "a large diamond not completely cut," unfinished, unable to shine with the glory one had presumed one might display.  One has to dramatize one's latencies, even if at first in minuscule degree.  Steadfastness is a key.

Easier:  "A double promise" is double according to some standard you alone can discern.  You are aware of promise both inwardly and outwardly and need to take time in realizing it.  "Men getting large granite stones out of a rock" signifies that one can succeed with very ordinary things, gain wealth by means many would consider beneath their notice.  One's soul-force is powerful and one has a strong will.  This has resemblance to "a bulbous planet pushing its way upward from the soil to unfold its beauties."  

Easiest:  There is enough energy and persistence to meet all conditions, with the sun and Mercury trine Mars.  One can move slowly toward independence, with dominion over enemies and opponents.  One might afford shelter and comfort to others, like a tree providing a home for birds and shade for humans.  "A rainbow" is a sign of nature cooperating effectively with one's vision.  There is spiritual power in the significances one can perceive anywhere or everywhere.  These are  promises one cannot forget.

Worst:  "An untidy, unkempt man" could be Diogenes, the original Cynic, in his tub.  He had a point:  Disassociate yourself from worldly attachments and you will be imperturbable.  Care for nothing and nothing will bother you.  Yet at times, under the sway of mood, this individual becomes "a man playing with colored balls, an immodest woman behind him."  Then his cynical indifference to what others value could become vice.  "A dove lies upon the ground.  Over it a snake is poised in an attitude of attack."  Self-indulgence and seduction amount to self-abandon, poor Diogenes conquered by someone attracted to his nude unwashed body.  This is "the influence of a subtle fascination or a secret attachment."

Better:  Gossip is in the air.  Whose character might one be defamaming, or who might do that to oneself?  Low-level journalists have a nose for decadence.  However, one can be above all this, as if dwelling in "a farmhouse between high mountains."  A rustic country life could make some immune to the swirl of others' peccadilloes.  Instead they are content with what has fallen to them, "a green field surrounded by shrubberies, with a nice villa on the northeast side."  The best of your household environment!  Contentment seems a little-known secret.

Best:  One is not only content but alive.  "Rabbits dressed in clothes and on parade" are trying to be more than themselves through "habilitments of higher implication."  They are appropriating better things through projection into a superior dimension.  One might do this at a more tangible level, emulating someone content to accomplish rude and enduring work, such as "felling a tree" or living a woodland life of simplicity, with hard manners but a soft heart.  The physical reflects the spiritual.  What results from such rugged aspiration?  "An open window and a net curtain blowing into a cornucopia."  This is opportune munificence.  One captures rich rewards and distributes them.  We and our world are prodigal.

Worst:  The intense squares between Mars and three Capricorn planets are strong and the increasing square with Saturn was considered by ancient astrologers as very threatening or at least requiring much patience and endurance.  We might consider the plight of the homeless, or those unable to pay rent or otherwise worried about where they live.  "An outhouse with a dark loft, to which a ladder conducts the homeless ones" does not indicate a preference of very many!  And then those who are in such hard situations might become emotional or passional and upset things through instability, failure to stick to any plan,  or a sexual indiscretion.  Then they become like "giddy flies in a silly dance" as the "spider" of law and order, a detective, lawyer or policeman, puts a collar on them.  

Better:  Hidden strength and independence can step forward and, even if sometimes unfair, attain dominion over others as if riding a curbed horse.  This would be the Aries-Capricorn squares (Mars to Jupiter-Pluto-Saturn).  Then there could be a burst of good fortune, even great luxuries symbolized by "an orange tree loaded with fruit."  Charubel warns that this may not last.  However, there might be a certain innocence of soul plus curiosity and self-expression, like "a tiny nude miss reaching in the water for a fish."  Such lack of inhibition could release inclinations toward whatever pleases temporarily.

Best:  The |difficult third| can make us feel like "a large camel crossing the desert," because we have to rely on what is within ourselves more than on what circumstances bestow.  But we can realize our adequacy, and become self-mobilized.  There is "a double promise" to be relied upon, partly in the domain of career and partly in relationships.  Neither seems easy yet the promises remain as long as we don't just 'play one against the other" but harmonize them.  We have more strength than we realize (Mars and Mercury closely trine Mars) and there are concord and beauty in unexpected situations (Venus sextile Uranus).   No matter what our household situation (first paragraph) we might feel we are in "a little village lying in a fertile valley" where we are fruitful in good things because we are lowly rather than boastfully high like the barren mountains around us.  Our native goodness and modest ambitions tend toward success.

Hardest:  When things are in a dilapidated condition, there is danger of accident, or of letting it all drift to bankruptcy.  There can be a sense of futility which brings listlessness.  Sometimes that can be playfulness.  Gemini (where the moon is) can be playful, something many critics of Donald Trump don't understand about him.   Today we have "A man playing with colored balls, an immodest woman standing behind him" and also "a woman clothed in gaudy apparel playing with some jewels in her lap."  There could be wastefulness and impracticality.  Careless pleasures could lead to being crossed by the opposite sex in an unexpected fashion.  People are attracted to semblances--colored balls and jewels, or the sex-impulses those might imply--when circumstances seem bleak.  This might be harmless unless it is seductive to the weak and defenseless.  "A hawk is seen hovering over a nest of young birds."  Innocents could be injured, even by pedophiles, or by those who, relaxing into fun with those less mature, are carried away by predatory impulses.  

Easier:   One might be grateful for some pleasant, easy-going circumstances:  "A green field is surrounded by shrubberies, with a nice villa on the northeast side."  Charubel says "this person has an adequacy to keep him; and with this has the disposition to be content."  However, "game birds feathering their nests" are preparing for the future in an instinctive manner, and one might want to consider what one is doing for a coming generation.   "A carrier pigeon," contrary to the hawk of the previous paragraph, is bringing information and, at best, enlightenment.  We can depend on life to provide the messages we need.  Then we are prepared to take charge, perhaps in a career area.

Smoothest:  The two hypnotic "p"s of "politics" and "pandemic" should not keep us away from nature.  This could be in her unimproved native summer grandeur, or in terms of our "improvement" of her by imposing  conditions of human living:  "A large tract of land mapped out and enclosed with posts and rails, intended for a farm and homestead in the near future."  Charubel says that the surveyor-adventurer is "possessed of boundless resources" and "his speculations are successful."  This could be literal, though for most the "farm and homestead" are metaphoric, a hopeful project we have in the works.  "An open window and a net curtain blowing into a cornucopia" indicates perhaps unmerited good fortune, munificence, the richer rewards of life to be enjoyed and shared.  Some of this could be literally or metaphorically aromatic, filing the ambiance with sweet odors.

It seems we have been using a periscope, or "sextant and compass," to find our way out of chaotic conditions.  Something in the outdoors, or a country scene, is fruitful both literally and figuratively.  We are reminded we are in the month of Leo, the sun-month, by the symbol "in the center of a high mountain plateau one of the ancient magi performs his matutinal (daily) devotions.  The lord of day is on the ascendant."  Everyone needs some daily rhythm, whether scriptural study, prayer, meditation, or all three.  We have to step along with the sun.  

Fated or destiny-laden changes seem disconcerting, for Sol is at point focus in a yod configuration with Neptune, Jupiter and Pluto.  Some aspect of your environment may seem like "a coal pit, the machinery at a standstill, the whole plant in a dilapidated condition."  One can pull back, be remote or reticent, carrying one's burden without complaint or comment, treasuring what one knows cannot be lost though it be obscured.  

Likewise, a "sapling" has been bent by the wind of human passions and weaknesses, betrayed by what it leaned on.  We see others affected in this way, partly disabled by false expectation or misplaced trust.  Yet recovery is possible.  Those who get their mojo back are tapping into the sextile of Venus with Uranus (self-appreciation) and the trine of the sun with Mars (self-confidence).  "A face is surmounted by a coiled serpent.  There is a raised hand."  One can be commanding through a keen understanding of life's laws.  Powers of concentration develop intuition and foresight.  One penetrates into the secrets of others' inclinations sufficiently to take charge of the situation and its trajectory.

Sometimes we feel like Sisyphus of the Greek myth, rolling our stone up the hillside only to see it roll back down, and then rolling it up again the next day.  To escape this, Charubel says, "study thy natal figure" or horoscope.  If you do not study astrology, then you could search into yourself to define your life's purposes more effectively.  Such definition is a key to escaping chaos.  As for external aids, we have "a large and well cultivated tract of land" suggesting fruitfulness in whatever you pursue with keen appreciation and geniality.  The "tract of land" could be, whether urban or rural, some place you visit for a particular purpose.

"A child of about five with a huge shopping bag" has high expectations of something wonderful through purchase, which might fit with Luna's trines to three Capricorn planets (in earth signs).  The ""child" is participating in everyday living in a big way and might have in his bag gifts for others as well as himself.  The "woman in pastel colors" is carrying "a heavy and valuable but veiled load" which might also be something useful for the community at some point even if held back for now.  One might wisely be alert to whatever could be deceptive or unfair when buying or selling.  

At the level of personal affection there are feelings that one might have been betrayed, or a feeling that one has been leaning on or confiding in someone unreliable.  We need to acknowledge human weaknesses, yet not overreact.  Expecting less from people is often the better course.  One could transpose one's confidence and trust to someone truly resplendent, so that one is like "a crescent moon joined to a shining star."  Associating with someone of high merit and rank brings good fortune.  Her or his distinction brings distinction to oneself.

There is excitement, quest, searching.  This could go awry (Mercury square Uranus and Luna hitting both) as if one were "a man running in the face of a strong wind, making little headway, his garments flying in tatters behind him."  Pride and obstinacy "set themselves against public opinion" or what most consider common sense.  Such foolishness is of course not seen as foolishness to its victim.  What is he chasing?  "A well-appointed table, with the remnants of a feast lying upon it."  This fits Luna in Taurus in good aspect to both Jupiter and Venus, possibly excess, extravagance and recklessness in pursuing "the good things of life" which are not the best things if they cause suffering.  Sensuality however might be accompanied by "richness of heart and camaraderie."  

More delicate approaches to living might emerge, connected with the multiple septile aspects involving Neptune and Venus.  "A woman in pastel colors carrying a heavy and valuable but veiled load" might be pregnant, but not wanting to advertise the fact.  She is reticent because she values what is going on with her in her privacy.  Both females and males may find that something they "carry" in private is not to be made public until all things are ready.  Meanwhile "a hidden choir is singing," making audible that "all are at one in the universal pattern," at least when they submit to a mood of awe flowering into worship.  

We have been looking for definition and exact principles in the midst of chaos, and have been patient enough to find some of them.  "A star surrounded with many rings" is a good omen.  Charubel says we need never be cast down. "Thou wilt meet with trials, but fear not; ''Thy bread shall be given thee, and thy water is sure.'"
