Moon in Cancer
|Karmically serious or sobering third| of this week continues (until very late Saturday)
/moon goes void-of-course at 3:59p PT | 6:59p ET | 11:59p UT
I hope you are noticing what the |difficult third| of each week means to you. Only you can figure that out because it probably means something different for each one. These have been hitting Friday-Saturday lately but will be moving earlier to Thursday-Friday, Wednesday-Thursday, and so on. A third of the week is measured by the moon's relation to Saturn and is neither two nor three days but about 2.5. I usually give the exact minute of the beginning and end here. To be noticed this time is the inclement weather in many portions of the U.S. at least and perhaps other places on the planet; it has been snowing and raining in Seattle all morning, for example. That was not true earlier in the week. Yes, if meteorologists would get over their fear of astrology, they would find more precipitation during these periods (which of course is not a bad thing because very much needed, but "bad" for human beings who want to be out and about). Also clinicians would find more bouts of minor or major illnesses during these times. "The three-day cold" often comes during this period. And so on, but I am speaking of things you probably will ignore if you are an ordinary human being. Most wold rather remain in the dark.
Friday: We experience the sufferings of others through literature, and this helps us face our own problems, often. Criticism of both writers and their characters can be soul-strengthening, at least in the case of the finest literature. If it is not, we need to liberate ourselves from the demonic hypnosis of a depressing novel or story. (I knew a person who seemed actually to destroy her body by re-experiencing endlessly the horror stories of H. P. Lovecraft.) I myself find I have to cleanse my consciousness through Christian Science and Scripture after wallowing in too much demonic or depressing fiction. "A cross and a broken key" are what writers too often present us with as the fruit of their depressing cogitations.
We ought to be awake rather to someone who is "a guide and teacher of the public" and who is concerned with others as much as, or more than, himself or herself. Such individuals present interesting material and sometimes make life a game, at least from one viewpoint, so that we see it from a level which offers refreshment and a happier perspective promoting good will and camaraderie.
Since it does not seem a social day, we have some promises of success at a deeper level, "an ancient hieroglyphic manuscript with a retort and crucible upon it." This involves respecting ancient wisdom while also being willing to experiment (retort and crucible). Then we may come into great possessions, either material or spiritual or both, "A stately mansion surrounded by trees in an expanse of pastureland."
