An alchemist at work in his laboratory; upon his table is much gold. Patient, thrifty. By industry and inventive faculty will acquire wealth, yet live simply. Success in an eccentric vocation. Success. b
A large and well cultivated tract of land. Broad, open and genial; healthy body, keen appreciation of nature's beauties; love of rustic pursuits; successful life, large family and many friends. Lives in the physical and emotional more than the mental or spiritual, yet the last is reflected in the life and works for good. Fruitfulness. b
Indecisiveness may feel like weakness. Then the "dark cloud" of lusts, evil passions, or envy could find a place to lodge in you, inspiring you toward your worst tendencies which would ruin you if pursued too far. So the man with the scales, your conscience, though severe, awakens you to a better destiny. If this requires you to acknowledge some of your mistakes, and declare yourself "bankrupt," that is the price for a new start. You return to that old adobe mission which symbolizes your roots and your faith. Then you find your eccentric self in a new way, seeing its virtues and talents rather than its liabilities, and you learn how to acquire what you need patiently. This is slow success, like that of the alchemist, and ultimately provides more than enough. So you have the "large and well cultivated tract of land" and a happy life shared with many.

The symbols and their interpretation are intended to apply basically during the hours from dawn to midnight. Often a planet will move from one degree to another during the day, so I use a time near mid-afternoon for all of them, so that they shall be exactly right during most, often all, of the daylight hours.
