A wide-spreading oak tree, around the roots of which are many young shoots, while the birds of the season sing among its branches. Steady, strong, and reliable. The diamond not completely cut has to have NOTHINGNESS put into it, as it were, to make more facets. That is its mystery. NOTHINGNESS also appears to be the father of the child the woman raises in her two-member "nuclear family." The cherry tree in full blossom might decline into nothing, but blesses the world while it lasts. When we are weary of nothing we turn to the something which has borne us, the "council of ancestors," our antecedents. They dwell in a peaceful secret valley and are our sustenance as we grow up into a wide-spreading oak which lasts forever and provides shelter, comfort, and infinite latency to those younger.
