The difficult aspect Venus opposite Saturn has been with us during all of the holiday weekend as well as today. It is appropriate in connection with much which happens on Memorial Day weekend, for Saturn is the old or elderly, among other things, and those who have suffered or are suffering, including those of course who died in the course of military service. Venus is love in a broad sense, so we are encouraged to remember and uptick our love for such individuals. The Venus-Saturn hard aspects also bring out family relationships, because often those are based partly on a sense of duty (Saturn) as well as love (Venus). "Oh what a drag to have to be with Mother and Dad when I'd rather do something else!" is perhaps the worst of it. But then on second thought one may realize that these are the people who mean the most to one and one must make the best of it, for without them one would probably be more unhappy than with them. If that sounds somewhat callous, well, that is only the way we perceive it when we have not learned the lessons of Saturn.
A house on fire at night-time. Rash and warlike, inclined to destruction. Apt to stir up disputes among others and bring desolation upon himself through a false sense of security. Domestic life full of turmoil. Strife. b
A dagger lying beside a skull. Fatal tendencies, destructive to a degree, or inclined to cruelty and oppression. Will need to hold passions in strong check or some fatality will come upon him. Melancholy and taciturn; yet silently discerning, and capable of keen feelings. "It makes not but it mars . . ." The end of life could be tragic. Undoing. b
A council of ancestors. Antecedence. s
A large office, and a man sitting at a desk, writing in a large book resembling a ledger. Good practical abilities, especially adapted for commercial pursuits. c
A Chinese woman nursing a baby with a message. Materialization. s
A cherry tree in full blossom. Very precocious, with early promise of genius. May decline. c
A girl's face breaking into a smile. Acquiescence. s
The dagger and skull, suggesting that "the end of life may be tragic," applies of course to many of those we memorialize today. May they be blessed wherever they are in this infinite universe of everlasting consciousness. They are part of the "council of ancestors" whom we remember and celebrate, military and non-military, family and friends.
The first two symbols are the warnings against letting the final day of the holiday weekend degenerate into conflict. The moon in Scorpio opposite Mercury could accentuate such, along with the Venus-Saturn opposition already discussed and the square between Mars and Uranus. However, there is much good background support in trines and sextiles, including a Grand Trine in water signs, which makes for subtle emotional understanding among diverse individuals. The final five symbols should bring this out in happy ways.

"Transcendence is an increased degree or capacity of overall expression, and when a man has his strength in God, rather than in merely physical factors, he shares in the divine transcendence and even literally has far more potential power than his much stronger neighbor in superficial comparison." --Marc Edmund Jones, in Prophetic Judgment XXIV, Perfect Trust (lessons on the book of Habakkuk)
b: Signor Borelli, 19th century clairvoyant; interpreted by Sepharial who was Walter Gorn Old
c: Charubel, 19th century clairvoyant who was John Thomas
s: Sabian symbols which came through psychic Elsie Wheeler, interpreted by Marc Edmund Jones
The symbols and their interpretation are intended to apply basically during the hours from dawn to midnight. Often a planet will move from one degree to another during the day, so I use a time near mid-afternoon for all of them, so that they shall be exactly right during most, often all, of the daylight hours. The period from midnight to dawn could partake of the nature of either day or both.
