\Gainful Seclusion/

New Moon of Sagittarius occurs at [10:32p(Sunday) PT] | 1:32a ET | 6:32a UT
Moon enters Capricorn at 5:35a PT | 8:35a ET | 1:35p UT
|Karmically serious third| of this week continues (until Tuesday afternoon)
but other factors bring the rating to   * * *

I had thought that, since research in astrology or any science is never finished, I might be making changes in the values used in calculating the star ratings. There have not had to be very many of these because I tried to be as thorough as I could before instituting this new feature a month or so ago. But Sunday's * * * rating was wrong. I felt it early in the day, and later events with other individuals confirmed it. It was a moon-conjoined-to-Saturn day and also the final day of an Old Moon, while the moon is waning to nothing (in visibility). Such times can be limp and depressing unless plenty of other factors intervene. All I had to do was change one value in the calculations to reduce Sunday to a two-star day, and I checked carefully to make sure that process did not interfere with other charts in the archive. I am hoping to make these ratings reliable so that you will be able to depend on the difference between a one or two-star day versus the more lively and fulfilling three, four, or five-star days.

Monday:  The three-star rating is precarious, but I hold to it unless something dramatically strange happens. Still, it could be a day for slowness and gradualness rather than anything thrilling or exciting. Business seems to be on a solid track even if some of it is secretive or hidden.

The controversies over, now, Trump team e-mails (rather than Hilary's for a change), and the question of whether Robert Mueller secured them illegally, is highly redolent of Mercury square Neptune, which is going on now and will be for the rest of December. Neptune can be dishonesty or confusion or seeming deception or real deception. The fact that nobody knows for sure is what makes it elusive, and when squared to Mercury, planet of communication in all forms including email, nobody knows for sure what is going on. (The fact that Donald Trump has this aspect in his birth-chart does not make things any easier.)

"Two arrows crossed" sounds like what we just mentioned. It is strife and possibly litigation (at worst, violence). But there is also "A tortoise" symbolizing unending patience. That sounds like Robert Mueller; indeed, many are wondering if he will ever get any results from his inquiry. At any rate, on the personal level being like the tortoise (second paragraph preceding) could protect one from the crossed arrows (that magnificent shell).

Too much indolence (Mercury retrograde) could be disastrous, so we are warned not to be like a sleeping bear beneath a tree with a bees' nest. "A monster with two faces" is a slanderer, and we might be his victim, but if we tend to our knitting we should be safe.

"A gold rush" indicates ambitious desires for gain (Mars conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio). We would enjoy this impulsively, like a ram pawing the ground and then pursuing something he never had before.

Charubel says that one degree prominent today is dangerous, signifying a funeral procession after a violent death. I take that with many grains of salt; I hope such events will not happen anywhere in the world, but what it really means could be that we should be intelligently protective of ourselves and others. When we feel alienated or alone, we can work in seclusion, maintain poise, and gain slowly.

The most crucial distinction is between one or two-star times versus three, four, or five-star times. It's wise to "lay low" on the former (except in one's inner, spiritual life), but expand and be more daring on the latter. Sometimes long-term aspects will depress the ratings for weeks at a time, or raise them. The indications are intended to be most accurate from dawn of the given day until midnight. Then, from midnight until the next dawn, that quarter-day may partake of the nature of one or both days on either side. It is a transition period, usually reserved for sleep. Note: I am not giving any five-star ratings until the Dark Hermetic Epoch ends on January 10. The other ratings remain the same, but the uncertainty in the DHE makes * * * * * unrealistic.
