^Not "Losing It"^

Moon in Leo   * * *

The President's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, with the provisos he made for recognizing Palestinian rights and a possible two-state settlement ultimately, seems appropriate to the Mercury Retrograde period (until the 22nd-23rd) when we tend to go back into the past to resurrect, redefine, or otherwise reconnect with our heritage, our yesteryears and what they have given us. Four planets are in Sagittarius, sign of international relations, two of them Mercury and Saturn conjoined. Saturn has been considered a planet of the Jews since ancient days, signifying their endurance through very hard times and persecutions. These two are sextile Mars on one side and trine Uranus on the other, which is why this Retrograde period is less disturbing (it seems) than most of them. I have been through a lot of changes today in my attitudes toward various matters, and have been doing REsearch (a favored activity during these times) with some good results, yet tentative ones. The "tentativity" (to coin a word) of things is something to be aware of for the next couple of weeks. There is usually no need to hash out a totally exact and "forever" resolution of things in question. One's conclusions can be tentative, and therefore safer--open to question and yet useful as far as they go.

An example of "tentativity" is the paragraph I just wrote, for I neglected to notice that the President's speech recognizing Jerusalem as the capital, with his signing an order to move the embassy there, occurred while the moon was void-of-course! In fact, I wrote down the time of his announcement:  1:09 p.m. Eastern Time, which was just 12 minutes after the moon went void. Oh dear, are the detractors of this decision correct? Many on the left, and most Arabs, consider his decision a mistake.

I was in favor of it, and yet . . . Time will tell. It is not always true that something done while the moon is v-of-c is doomed to failure. Yet critics will say of today's events that the President's move was too politically motivated and premature. In fact, it will be years before the embassy can be moved to Jerusalem, and so although he impressively signed a document while the moon was v-of-c, he will soon sign a "waiver" to postpone moving the embassy, etc. etc.

No, you are not going crazy or "losing it" while Mercury is Retrograde. Many feel that that is happening at these times. We need to be patient with ourselves, and of course with others.

A formula for some of Thursday's trends: There is an intimate approach to obligations pursued realistically, doing what will please someone else even when it requires a little sacrifice--though the rewards could be wonderful. There is an appreciation of beauty to a large degree, through photos, the arts, music; any natural or human loveliness.

December 2017, Daily Ratings (Maximum * * * * *)

6 Wednesday  * * * *   ( * * * during a three-hour period)
7 Thursday     * * *
8 Friday         * * * *   (except during one half-hour to be listed later, * * *)
9 Saturday     * *
10 Sunday      *
11 Monday      * *
12 Tuesday     * * *
13 Wednesday *
14 Thursday    *
Sometimes long-term aspects will depress the ratings for weeks at a time, or raise them. The indications are intended to be most accurate from dawn of the given day until midnight. Then, from midnight until the next dawn, that quarter-day may partake of the nature of one or both days on either side. It is a transition period, usually reserved for sleep. Note: I am not giving any five-star ratings until the Dark Hermetic Epoch ends on January 10. The other ratings remain the same, but the uncertainty in the DHE makes * * * * * unrealistic.
