The center of the |difficult third| is around 6p PT | 9p ET | 1a(Su) UT. For some it can be a crisis. For others, hopefully most, it will be a sober, serious time, when planned fun seems leaden or soul-challenging rather than merry and relationships need extra concern, care, caring and loving to remain viable . . . 

Yes, call me the grinch!

But I do not relish that role. It's just that I have survived so many of these periods that I sort of know what to expect. I said that this difficult weekend would begin Friday, and sure enough, as I write on that afternoon, the weather here has changed from two days (Wednesday and Thursday, which I predicted would be the easiest days of the week) of sunshine, warmth, and cheer, to gloom, heavily overcast skies and chill. Voila! The |difficult third| is not a myth, no matter how many "scientists" tell you otherwise. Until they learn to study astrology sympathetically and understandingly, they will be in the dark. It even correlates, statistically (which means not always but predominantly) with more difficult weather (though G*d knows we need rain also). And, maybe, we also need tears?

That is why I tried to give a new name to the period (above). 

Some of this may have to do with money. How many feel absolutely secure financially? Even Mr. Trump has been through four bankruptcies (which never seemed to have dimmed his Leo-rising super-confidence). The stock market, globally, is being challenged by worries about economic growth plus worries about the interest-rate policies of government banks (such as our Federal Reserve) plus worries about the price of oil plus worries about Britain's possible exit from the European Union ("Brexit"). But it is probably not time to sell the farm and hitchhike to Canada or Mexico. (Who would hitchhike at a paranoid time like this anyway?)

An astrological friend wrote to me today saying she thought things would get better around the 29th when Mars turns direct. She may have a point. I myself have predicted here, at least four or five times, that things would get better from June 22 through July 15, and even recommended that as a possible vacation period.

We shall see.

Meanwhile, not everything is bleak. The hard aspects grip our attention because they are the challenges which keep us awake and striving. ("What I say unto you, I say unto all:  Keep awake." --Jesus) The softer smoother aspects grant us G*d's mercy and loving-kindness. Three of those today are bi-quintiles, a "luck" or "talent" aspect. Of course they are fighting, as it were, the difficulties already outlined, and which wins may be determined by ourselves. The sun and Venus both bi-quintile Mars would be love, erotic or thrilling or at least very pleasing, in many circumstances, but with all the other hard aspects (the X Cross) plus the |difficult third| it could be more like a quiet, internal, happy appreciation of certain special individuals in your life, whether or not you have contact with them. It could be long-distance contacts whether through communication (email or phone) or telepathy. If you are married, it means that, knowing and bearing each other's weaknesses, you still cherish that spark of excitement which brought you together. 

The other bi-quintile, Mercury to Pluto, suggests business acumen, an ability to do "creative accounting" or figure out how to profit.
