\Ambitions Sustained/

Moon in Capricorn beginning at 4:56a PT | 7:56a ET | 11:56a UT   ****
Sun enters Cancer (summer solstice) at 3:35p PT | 6:35p ET | 10:35p UT

The four stars are somewhat of a stretch, but I am feeling better about things and hope you are. What was not possible a month ago is now; and shall be even easier in a few days. The 22nd approaches, the first day of the 24- day period, through July 15, I have touted as a happy time (for a vacation or, if not that, as many good times as you can squeeze into it, or perhaps for success in a venture you care deeply about).

The Full Moon just past (celebrated as a Strawberry Moon by the press because its appearance at this time of year is likely to be amber or colorful) will be with us still today and tonight as a heightening of consciousness. I can't say this is an extraordinarily good social day--people may be stand-offish because involved in their own concerns. But it could be excellent for progress in a project or business, your career, or whatever, as a high priority for you, requires strict attention. The "strictness" is enhanced by Mercury's opposition with Saturn. Hermes (to call him by his Greek name) is also square Neptune and Jupiter. So there is a contest between being strict and honest with yourself, in things you want to study or accomplish, versus wishful thinking or dreaming. However, those latter-mentioned squares are good for spiritual seeking and for projects employing imagination or creativity. Neptune and Jupiter expand the mind; Saturn pulls it back to what is realistically workable.

Other facilitative aspects encourage entrepreneurship, or just trying your best at anything you want to achieve.

It is the solstice plus a Full Moon. Call it strawberry if that pleases you. The quincunx between Mars and Uranus is more like blood than strawberry, I am afraid. It has been with us throughout the Orlando episode, and was exact within 2 degrees on Saturday the 11th (going into Sunday the 12th) the day of the tragedy and the Saturday afternoon when Omar Mateen must have been getting his evil scheme in readiness. I admit I did not predict violence, exactly, for that day, but I did list it as part of the continuing |Karmically challenging or sobering third| of that week, and therefore not as a good party night, of course (except probably with trusted old friends). The quincunx between Mars and Uranus has been considered extremely violent by astrologers. And it continues, perversely, because Mars is retrograde, approaching its (motionless) station on the 29th, when if we were very unlucky similar things could happen, or something else entirely such as a financial crisis after the possible "Brexit" on the 24th. The aspect will be exact again, while Mars is direct, on July 13-14. This ought not to be frightening to us. The fact that the aspect continues throughout the "good" or "pleasant" period I have been pointing out merely means that we should be reasonably careful. I based that prediction on major long-term aspects, and continue to believe in it.

How do we minimize damage from that long-term continuing Mars-Uranus quincunx? Here is an idea from my own life. Although I go for weeks not watching any television at all, I have been watching, recently, some TV series which have a lot of violence and killing in them. That is not like me. Am I thrilling to the blood and gore? No, I find it repulsive. My reason for watching them has been the quite competent writing, directing and acting in bringing out the psychology and development of the characters. I have been unhappy that the writers and producers thought they needed so much gratuitous display of violence to get their drama across. Yet, I have been watching it. That was my "harmless"--perhaps--participation in the Mars-Uranus quincunx. (By the way, it could be specially venal because Mars is in Scorpio and Uranus in Aries, both signs ruled by Mars, the military or male-genetic-code planet). So I ask you: what have you been doing or thinking, reading or writing or watching, which brings out this sort of violence? Maybe it is time for us to become aware of all that and decide how to monitor ourselves and stop ourselves from luxuriating in killing or other forms of violence, or subtler violence such as character assassination. If we wake up with bad dreams inspired by violent stuff on TV or in movies, we are not exactly uplifting the planetary consciousness. Let's find creative uses of this aspect. More about that as I ponder it. If you have ideas, let us know.

It seems Monday is a "go-ahead" day for whatever you really care about. The problems merely set the rules and play of the game, which you can win handily. You could bargain shrewdly. You seem affable and courteous while taking people unawares and getting them to agree to whatever you wish. Your ambitions are strong and you are careful not to offend people more than they can take, so as to use them successfully in your projects. (This paragraph is derived from Grant Lewi's take on the natal positions sun in Gemini plus moon in Capricorn.)

Cosmic Piper

P. S. The above may seem rather unloving, but here, especially from the Mother, is counter-input:

A letter from Sri Aurobindo to a disciple:  "Merely dying does not solve anything. How do you think the difficulties you have not overcome in this life will leave you in your next birth? You have to clear them up in this very life."

A disciple, Shyam Sundar, to the Mother: "Your hands are open to give everything but I can only receive a small part of it because I am not receptive enough."
The Mother: "This is the exact image of the state of the world which suffers because it is not receptive whereas it could live in beatitude if it would open to the Divine Love.
"But there is a remedy:
"Sincere and constant aspiration."

S. S.: "I have begun to see that both the personal effort of the sadhak (disciple) and its result depend on the Divine Grace."

The Mother: "About this one could say humorously: We are all divine but we are hardly aware of it, and that in us which is unaware that it is divine is what we call 'ourselves'."
