~Clutch Out, Poised Gear Shift~
Moon in Scorpio
|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week begins at 10:50a PT | 1:50p ET | 5:50p UT * < |
Moon leaves the Via Combusta at 2:53p PT | 5:53p ET | 9:53p UT ** |
I feel tongue-tied because of the slow Mercury, slowing to motionless by 11:11a PT | 2:11p ET | 6:11p UT, that is, the moment that Mercury "turns retrograde." Actually he is motionless, in appearance from the earth, at that time, then very slowly begins to move backward.
Sitting with a friend tonight (Wednesday) I remarked how quiet it was. Our conversation was at a standstill and there were no sounds from the street or neighbors. I told him how it feels like "the clutch goes out" at these times. When you're driving a stick-shift pickup you push the clutch out before changing gears. That, to me, is exactly what these Mercury-motionless times feel like. One is in a timeless space if one allows one's mind to become quiet. It can be a very good time for meditation.
The long-awaited announcement by the Fed as to whether or not interest rates will be increased is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern, virtually at the point of Mercury's motionlessness while turning retrograde.
Whatever the markets do, most will find today not inimical to their finances, but perhaps mildly lucky.
Your position in the world likely seems quite good, so long as you don't "rock the boat" by getting lost in side issues, always a possibility during the Mercury Retrograde cycle. Cutting back on unnecessary entanglements could be wise.
Doing essentials while not worrying about inessentials could be the key.
Love is not at all absent, mixed with deep concern for the loved one.
Many will find that staying with their best shot at scheduling will prevent upset and keep them at peace. There is no need to rush but to do whatever one needs to do from a calm center of poise.

P. S. "Ordinarily, the mind is satisfied with reflecting this Infinity we perceive or with feeling the sense of it within and without us, as an experience which, however frequent, yet remains exceptional. It seems in itself so satisfying and wonderful when it comes and our ordinary mind and the active life which we have to lead may seem to us so incompatible with it, that we may think it excessive to expect anything more. But the very spirit of Yoga is this, to make the exceptional normal, and to turn that which is above us and greater than our normal selves into our own constant consciousness. Therefore we should not hesitate to open ourselves more steadily to whatever experience of the Infinite we have, to purify and intensify it, to make it our object of constant thought and contemplation, till it becomes the originating power that acts in us, the Godhead we adore and embrace, our whole being is put into tune with it and it is made the very self of our being."
--Sri Aurobindo, The Synthesis of Yoga, p. 569 (emphasis mine)
I look forward to reading this again at the end of the day. I enjoy downshifting rather that than brakes...I know that feeling of clutch in. Nice analogy. This could be a good day to breath into.
