|Karmically difficult or sobering third| of this week ends at 12:28p PT | 3:28p ET | 7:28p UT ***
New Moon of Virgo occurs at 11:42p PT | 2:42a(Su) ET | 6:42a(Su) UT
Did you notice that the tragic accident in Mecca, killing more than a hundred individuals, occurred during this week's |karmically difficult third|? As I have reported here frequently for many years, more accidents of that nature and more accidental fatalities (as well as more crimes) happen during those periods. When added to the Dark Hermetic Epoch (August 29 through October 23 this time) it is specially dangerous because there are more human errors at such times. Also, as reported here several times, there are more high winds when Luna is in hard aspect with Mars, no matter in which signs, and she was conjunct Mars within a normal 12.5 degree orb when the accident happened, caused partially by high winds.
Saturday is a smoother day, perhaps a low-key one because of the shrinking moon. Friendship is emphasized. People want to share interests and concerns. A friend might visit you. Costs of things are factored into the picture in a telling way. People slip into old patterns. Religious differences are on people's minds because of the almost-exact opposition between Jupiter and Neptune. Let's remember that it is hard if not impossible to put those differences into words, and refrain from arguing about them pointlessly, but try to intuit one another's feelings and insights. People do not even understand the word G*d much less all the other words used to describe Him or make His or Her nature clear, so how can they talk about Him? Sri Aurobindo did the best job of it and people ought to be studying his writings if they want to become spiritually intelligent. (I guess they don't.)
Or, if you insist on a Judaeo-Christian orientation (though Sri Aurobindo's approach is not inconsistent with that), study your scriptures thoroughly, not superficially, and pray for deeper understanding beyond the seeming literal meaning. The literal meaning is not wrong but often obscure and incomplete. It leads to wonders way beyond it for those who pray in the spirit for such enlightenment.
Or if you are a "militant atheist" as a writer in the New Yorker claims all scientists ought to be, then press on militantly into the Void without Him. You will probably not be missed (not by me anyway).
As for Donald Trump, a friend wrote me yesterday: "He reminds me of a 1 yr old baby in diapers screaming at the top of his lungs and banging his chest."
And I replied:
"Yes indeed. We found out at our astrology group a while back that he has Leo rising (exact birth time is known and verified) with Mars in Leo in the first. That pinpoints exactly what you said. Here is what Marc Edmund Jones says about an individual with a strong Leo emphasis:
"'He thrives on adulation . . . On lesser levels he becomes exceedingly petty, even spoiled in a childish fashion, and so inclined to great displays of temperament. Because he is consciously dependent upon a constant realization of his own worth, he will, if necessary to this end, distort any ideas about himself. . . . When he talks, he must hold the floor, and when he acts he must be watched and applauded. [At worst he can be] completely disruptive in his efforts to compel recognition from others.'
"But of course I left out all the good stuff about Leo, which is actually one of my favorite signs. It's just that Trump seems to bring out all the childishness of it, as you pointed out. (The quotation is from a classic, Astrology, How and Why it Works by Marc Edmund Jones.)"
And, as I have pointed out, the public fascination with Trump at this point goes along with both Venus and Mars being in Leo in his first house. Many seem to be hypnotized by him. We shall see if that lasts beyond Halloween. That will be the test (October, especially the second half).
Deep thinking, feeling and perceiving is possible on this Saturday.
