}Drama of Heroic Recognition{
The "summer doldrums" hit us much harder while Mercury is retrograde. I hope they are not too disorienting for you. I find that I am behind with correspondence, for example, and that I am doing many things "out of pattern" and returning to old interests or habits to some degree. We often find during these periods that we are battling between the old and the new, and there is no simple, pat answer as to which is better. Sometimes you definitely need to go back to old things, people, interests, approaches during these times. At other times if you went back too far you would hurt your current prospects. Obviously one has to keep up with one's current job and obligations. Yet one feels deep inside that one needs time to relax, let one's mind be itself, explore things without hurry, meditate, daydream. All that can be good and fruitful during these Mercury Retrograde periods. Then the problem can be that if it goes too far one could be, at worst, responsible for an accident, as we have seen in multiple instances in the past couple of weeks, or fumble in one's work and so on. It is always a fine balance.
I re-watched The Matrix last night, the film from 1999. It had messages for me. At one point a character says to the protagonist, "Try not to think of it as right or wrong. She [the 'Oracle'] can help you find the path. She is a guide, Neo. She tells you just exactly what you need to hear. That's all." Yes, as a would-be Oracle, Cosmic Piper can relate to that. For example I hope the previous paragraph is "what you need to hear" to cope with the current situation (until Mercury goes direct a week from now, and even a couple weeks after that). Sunday:
1 Stage: Someone is warning you about something. You ought to heed. This could be a guide you know and respect, a book, someone you meet by accident or a friend. You may get together with interesting, cultivated people in a place where art or music is being appreciated and feel accord with them.
2 Focus: There is internal strength, which can lead toward adventure. You are not afraid, so the "warning" of the previous paragraph may simply confirm some intuition of your own to avoid certain things. You are sensing where your life could go and how it could culminate. You are judge of yourself, able to sense what is fair in how you have acted, what was not just, how to do better, and that makes you feel better.
3 Concern: Who or what is a fallen idol in your life? You can see how he or it has helped you but at the same time how being too obsessed with him or it could mislead you. So you pass on, like the wind. Yet you need to keep respecting everyone so far as possible, to avoid pointless fighting, which could be dangerous with current lunar aspects forming a grand square in cardinal signs.
4 Ado: Rhythms of music or dancing could fascinate. Timing is emphasized whether for esthetics or practical matters as investing or perhaps sports and games. Some of this is fantasy, in your mind and feelings, because part of you wants comfort rather than any activity.
5 Issue: Because people are weak, they offer support and then withdraw it at their convenience, and so you need to be ready to take up the slack yourself rather than moan about betrayal. You can adjust, finding some other source of support (for emotional comfort or morale) by displaying a different side of yourself to someone or in some setting. We each have more than one face or facet to present to the world. This does not have to be painfully calculating, but natural adjustment.
6 Resolution: And then it becomes expression of yourself and your dignity, not a ploy. You are inflexibly determined to represent what deserves recognition. This you could do in an intoxicated way, if you succumb to an alcohol high, or through the intoxication of your own best estimate of yourself. You accentuate whatever will make a point. This could be thrilling.
7 Essence: It could also be dangerous if it went to the point of dispersion or self-cancellation, so the "warnings" of paragraph 1 need to be kept in mind. You could be a remarkable person standing up and making a point, saving or rescuing others at a point of danger. You could have such a heroic role to play. People will note your charisma and bow to it, desiring to be commanded by you. People see things differently, but rally to someone with knowledge, sympathy and foresight. This has also an erotic side. Your penetrating insight gets rapt attention. (If you don't feel up to this, you could be in a scene where someone else fills that role, and it will rub off on you.)

P. S. Speaking of the Matrix, it seems that Ed Snowden heroically chose the "red pill" over the "blue pill." I think his statement from Friday, which he gave flanked by representatives of Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, the two most respected human rights organizations in the world, is simple, straightforward and eloquent:
Hello. My name is Ed Snowden. A little over one month ago, I had family, a home in paradise, and I lived in great comfort. I also had the capability without any warrant to search for, seize, and read your communications. Anyone’s communications at any time. That is the power to change people’s fates.
It is also a serious violation of the law. The 4th and 5th Amendments to the Constitution of my country, Article 12 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and numerous statutes and treaties forbid such systems of massive, pervasive surveillance. While the US Constitution marks these programs as illegal, my government argues that secret court rulings, which the world is not permitted to see, somehow legitimize an illegal affair. These rulings simply corrupt the most basic notion of justice – that it must be seen to be done. The immoral cannot be made moral through the use of secret law.
I believe in the principle declared at Nuremberg in 1945: "Individuals have international duties which transcend the national obligations of obedience. Therefore individual citizens have the duty to violate domestic laws to prevent crimes against peace and humanity from occurring."
Accordingly, I did what I believed right and began a campaign to correct this wrongdoing. I did not seek to enrich myself. I did not seek to sell US secrets. I did not partner with any foreign government to guarantee my safety. Instead, I took what I knew to the public, so what affects all of us can be discussed by all of us in the light of day, and I asked the world for justice.

Moon enters the Via Combusta (until Wednesday) at 4:26a PT | 7:26a ET | 11:26a UT
|Karmically intense or sobering third| of this week begins at 9:38a PT | 12:38p ET | 4:38p UT
1 Stage: There is justice at work in a strong way, which makes us sober although hopeful. We square our attitudes toward what is fair. When human law seems to fail, we need to trust divine law which always makes things right. It is the Divine Matrix which nullifies any evil "matrix." It is possible to be solicitous for the well-being of others in any situation and enjoy resulting good karma.
2 Focus: The strength of the summer is with us, something ineffable as sunlight which feeds our nobility and puts us above worries in a castle of security. Whatever is false or wrong can be detected instantly and "cast out" of consciousness as Jesus cast out demons.
3 Concern: To eliminate what is outworn is good so long as one appreciates and preserves whatever was best within it. Likewise, to drop pointless current worries and take time off to just "be" is good, so long as one is not hurting oneself by neglecting something crucial to one's well-being. There could be a too-careless trend. The Via Combusta's "loss of morale" in the terms of Marc Edmund Jones sometimes makes us feel we ought to just give up and that could be doubled because of the Mercury Retrograde phase.
4 Ado: To be easy-going and unstable has its charms, lounging in the sunlight without a care. Nature is beautiful, lawns and gardens lovely, and some will water or care for them. Contentment is wonderful, an end in itself.
5 Issue: Yet there could be too much contemplation and not enough focus on what is needed in a practical world to protect you from exploitation or loss. You might find yourself feeling twisted, broken or diminished by someone else's attitudes toward you amounting almost to betrayal. You could get a good perspective above all this (paragraphs 1 and 2) and discover what attitude of your own could make you impervious to anyone else's insensitivity or unkindness.
6 Resolution: Something from the past--a person, a guide, teacher, group, something or someone you value deeply--deserves to have top place in your consciousness. That would protect you from too much diffusion. You can then be audacious in being who you are, appreciating your own personality and sharing it with the world in a daring way which makes others' lives colorful.
7 Essence: We need to prevent disaster by knowing when to stop something which is headed toward accident or danger. We have seen that with recent events in many places all over the world. You can do it without being morose or depressed about it. At the same time you can appreciate your own refined intelligence, which is shining as if a gloriously peaceful star on a summer evening, above all the worry and care. You have mental powers and high intuition. This is appreciated by those invisible and perhaps even some visible.
