Moon in Scorpio

Though things seem to be getting better by the indications above, still Luna is in harsh configurations and Venus conjoined to Saturn as well as square Uranus.  'A man lying prone upon a bed of sickness' suggests apathy, laziness, or self-indulgence, according to Sepharial; in other words one might be succumbing to apparent illness as an escape from life.  Or, if feeling helpless and restrained one may be like 'a lion raging against the bars of its cage.'  One's implicit strength and dignity need to learn that others also are jealous of their rights and privileges.  One can endure temporary restrictions.

Another facet of things reflects Luna's position in Scorpio:  'A woman nude is looking at her reflection in a pool.'  This could be a reaction against Venus's conjunction with Saturn, which can deny one the usual assurance that one is loved by someone, because of misunderstanding, hard-heartedness or separation.  So there is self-love and dalliance, 'carnal temptation' in the terms of our Victorian writers.  Artistic tastes and talents could go along with egotism.  At a more extreme level 'a naked man has a serpent coiled around the lower part of the body' or is giving himself up to 'filthy habits' or auto-eroticism.  "Know thyself" says Charubel.

'A watchdog standing guard' represents probity, which is defined as integrity, uprightness, and honesty.  This can prevent or overcome any crisis.  Likewise 'a council of ancestors' is looking out for the good of the whole group including each individual.  One's worthy antecedents are re-embodied in oneself.  Scorpio (wherein the moon lies) at its best rises to such a coalescence of the individual with the group through time.
