You are gentle to him or her but ferocious toward whatever could endanger. There is a redemptive or healing influence, "a woman of pleasing appearance offering a glass of fluid to a child." While Mercury remains retrograde (until the 12th-13th, but also similarly for another two weeks) there is a tendency to anticipate more than can be gained, or jump into something which looks propitious but ends up a waste of time. However, some of the schemes, hopes and plans you entertain could turn out well eventually. "A tract of land mapped out and enclosed with rails, intended for a farm and homestead in the near future" has been well-designed. Speculations and adventures are successful. However, again, the backdrag of Mercury means this may take longer than expected, and require gradual modification.
There could be a studious urge. "A man with a very old-looking book, perhaps an ancient record" is thinking and grappling with ideas for their own sake, not for gain through writing a book himself. "He is free of that craze,' says Charubel. Nevertheless, whatever you learn or contemplate could have application in the "real" or outer world (which world is real is an ancient philosophic question) because you are like "a man successfully expressing himself in two realms at once." There can be surprising proficiency even while Mercury is retrograde, though its benefits slither and slide in directions one hadn't foreseen.
