Message for Monday 6 November 2017

}Continuity of Endeavor{

It is with heavy heart that I begin to write this. The mass killing at the church in Texas has affected me deeply. And it was reflected mysteriously in the Scripture I was designated to read today, Matthew Chapter 26 (and the killer was 26 years old, not insignificant since I have observed that this is a dangerous age, with many young people facing a test at that age, or else later at 27 to 29; a point of maturation which, if not met with real maturation, can lead to tragedy). From that Scripture: '"My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me." And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt." And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, "What, could ye not watch with me one hour?"'

One's faith in a good Lord is challenged by what happened today in Sutherland Springs. I found it hard to bear, and I prayed to understand. It does indeed appear senseless. I am firm in my faith that a good Lord does indeed watch over us. One can interpret that statement in other ways, in accord with Hindu or Buddhist ideas, or Sabian or Hegelian theology, or Sri Aurobindo's very advanced version of futuristic Vaishnavism in which we are all on the way to conquering even physical death through the process of many reincarnations. I believe in Sri Aurobindo's brilliant and exhaustively detailed formulation. Still, it is hard to bear the suffering of those who were killed today, and their families.

It is a challenge to deeper, more profound faith and understanding. I for one do not know how those who do not believe in reincarnation can justify such happenings. It seems that the cutting off of young lives prematurely just cries out for "Yes, there has to be another chance."

As for astrology and these daily forecasts, there is another challenge for me. What did I say in Sunday's forecast that fits the horrid event? Not much, it appears. The closest was, "As a critic or analyst, you see what others miss and so could warn them. This is not always a thankless task if done tactfully."

And yet how could these good people have been warned? "Don't go to church today"? Rather preposterous. Here is the symbol from Charubel (8 Libra, read in the symbol books as Libra 9): "A man standing on the top of a high mountain; on the one side a perpendicular rock; he is standing near this precipice with a red flag in his hand, which he is waving by way of signalling a promiscuous crowd, who appear to be rushing on horseback at a gallop towards this rock."

I then looked back at October 1, another Sunday on which there was a mass killing in our nation, the one in Las Vegas. Lo and behold, the sun was at 8 Libra 9! These were the only two days, with the exception of also Saturday November 3, on which this degree came up in the daily readings. (Venus was there on October 21 but I do not use Charubel's symbols with Venus based on a lot of observation over the years.)

On both these days, symbolically a man standing at the top of a mountain was waving a red flag to warn people to slow down before they rushed into a disaster.

How are we to understand this? I can only offer suggestions. Is it possible that those who were killed in Las Vegas were somehow warned ahead of time, by a dream, by a premonition, by an inner voice, not to go to that concert? Or that some were warned not to sit in a particular place within the concert hall? But that they ignored the warning and so met their fate? It is at least possible. It's harder with the church killing because it is hard to imagine God whispering to someone, "Don't go to church today." Yet it is possible.

This is an exercise in theodicy. That's a rarely used word which means "the justification of God's ways to men." Leibniz the brilliant mathematician-philosopher wrote a whole book on it, titled simple Theodicy. He believed that we do in fact live in "the best of all possible worlds" despite things like what happened in Sutherland Springs. His arguments are long and complex and we don't have time for them here. The Hindu notion of karma and reincarnation is much easier to grasp, for me. And many Christians of an esoteric stripe do believe in reincarnation, such as Rudolf Steiner, Edgar Cayce, and Charles Fillmore, to mention just three important prophets.

As for the daily forecasts, it would be impossible for me to warn everyone every time of some coming tragedy, even though one can see these things, more or less, in the planetary aspects. On Sunday, I look at Mars's aspects, because Mars is the planet of guns and of killing (in most cases although Uranus can signify the same things sometimes). Mars in the daily chart, with the orbs I have worked out laboriously over decades, has no major aspects but two septiles (or rather one septile to Mercury and one tri-septile to Neptune). These are not harmonious aspects but are called "fatality" aspects by Marc Edmund Jones. Further, because of the moon's position on Sunday, Mars was the cutting planet in a Locomotive shaped chart, which makes it the dominant planet in the chart. Devin P. Kelley was in the Air Force for four years and his Facebook page had an image of an assault rifle he was cherishing. Totally Mars.

The other warning sign is Venus opposite Uranus, by a little over two degrees. It has been with us for several days. It can be rage. "You don't understand me; you have scorned me and so I scorn you."

That does not mean I could have predicted what happened, or any mass killing for Sunday. After all, most of the millions of people in the world were not directly affected by this happening. Yet, all these indications add up when one looks carefully.

It is well to pray for the victims and their families. It is well to go deeply within our own souls and pray that we might be protected from anything similar, through rising to God's requirements for us, which we hope shall protect us.

I added, after much study and struggle, hours before I know about the tragedy, one more indication to the daily forecasts, that of the moon's nodes (one or the other depending on a formula carefully worked out). The symbol for Ketu, Hindu term for Luna's South Node, was, on Sunday, "A man lying wounded or sick upon the ground." In my own case, I think this just meant that I stayed home, rested a lot, and mourned the victims of the incident, although I kept up with basic necessary things such a writing this forecast, although it is quite late in the evening. I was not literally wounded or sick but perhaps metaphorically.

We have to keep trying, so here is what I can fathom about

Monday:
Moon in Gemini
|Karmically serious third| of this week is with us until Wednesday morning

We have "a mariner's compass." It is possible to make discoveries of lasting value. We may need the compass in the short term also because we are navigating "a canoe approaching safety through dangerous waters." We need to be calmly competent.

There is a religious trend, "A round temple with pointed roof." Outward rituals are not without value in holding us to interior realizations. There is also philosophic knowledge or power of thinking which can lead to prescience or foreknowledge of whatever we need to know.

There are warnings against being careless, imprudent or indifferent, as if one might  ignore possible problems too long. Slothful fatalism is not approved by the cosmos which would then keep churning and forcing an unpleasant awakening to what needs to be done.

We need to summon up virility and ambition or our apathy and resulting ineptitude could bring pity from others. Rather, we could be careful in small things, attending to details so that we build up a rewarding position. Continuity in plans and endeavors brings success.
