Message for Weekend of January 13-14, and the Fortnight of January 4-17

The meteorologists proclaim this weekend to be one of stormy winter weather, and Cosmic Piper concurs, for the |difficult karmic third| of this week (moon conjunct Saturn by a large orb) began Friday at 11:08p PT, or Saturday at 2:08a ET | 7:08a UT, lasting until Monday morning. Over the years this period each week sees more inclement weather on average than the other 4.5 days. (Sometimes there are skin or hair problems or itching and so on while three planets are in Capricorn the sign of skin and hair.)

As pointed out yesterday we are looking at three major features of the Fortnightly chart covering January 4-17. This time we focus on the sun-moon conjunction at 20 Capricorn (Capricorn 21 in the degree-symbol books). 

"A relay race" is, for one thing, the Republican caucus in Iowa on Monday. No one is gladly handing over a torch to another contender but each is trying to seize the torch. My favorite is Vivek Ramaswamy but the likely winner of course is Donald Trump. The larger relay race is the coming election in November about which all commentators are befuddled in the extreme. I make no prediction, but over the months it could be interesting to comment on the contenders and their horoscopes. 

In your personal life the relay race is whatever you are doing which "enhances your skills and talents through thoroughgoing co-operation with others in some vital phase of experience." Something you do, or are, is important to them, and this is "your certainty of self-continuance." You pass the torch graciously and live by it as it is carried to its goal. The keyword is Fitness.

Charubel gives the symbol as "A ferryboat taking people across a wide deep stream." This shares with the relay race a getting from here to there, this time with spiritual implications. Charon was the conductor of the ferryboat which transported the souls of the dead across the rivers Acheron and Styx. But "death" really means, for us, a regenerative experience, and I believe all are going through something like that during this fortnight. You are being carried or ferried by advanced souls, or one in particular, or by a guardian angel, not to the realm of the dead (unless it be to return from there with fresh wisdom) but to a spiritual extra-dimensional world we all inhabit in sleep or trance. 

I believe that is happening.

Also, you may be the "ferryman" doing this for someone else or more than one. You could be "a guide or teacher of the public, proving of much service to others more than to yourself." 

The Borelli-Sepharial symbol is also deeply spiritual. We are being called to be more than we have been. "An ancient hieroglyphic manuscript with a retort and crucible upon it" could be your means of accomplishing your Magnum Opus or Great Work, that is, whatever instrumentation you use in that endeavor, both book or manuscript and temporal-spatial endeavors which look like alchemical tooling when viewed from the outside. "It may be that he will attempt the solution of some scientific problems, and would be successful beyond belief. Or the work may be in the world of commerce, or even extended spiritually to the transmutation of the soul's gross and external body." Sri Aurobindo and The Mother are said to be pioneers in this area. "He will be a deep researcher, with benefit to himself and advantage to the world." The keyword is Renovation.
