In August the fat boy mows the lawn, attending
Practically to the needs of his group, participating
With calm efficiency in mastering challenging
Situations. By December his task is rather cutting
/
Through ice and shoveling snow. Thereby he procures
Natural resources and social opportunities
For the community at large. In all seasons the sun
Rises upon ocean waters, and as the boy
/
Reaches maturity he travels for the sake of discovery
While anticipating honors and attaining
Mental illumination. The lawn he used to mow
Blooms into a garden of many-hued flowers.

His life has grown genial and kindly, filled with
Friends and admirers, amity and concord.
