Message for Weekend of December 9-10, 2023, and the Holiday Season

Personal: I am late writing this and feel I'm under intense personal pressures. Universal: I believe some of the reason for my personal struggle is pressures being felt by everyone. We deal with "everyone" in these forecast-meditations.

It's partly that we are in a Dark or Slow Hermetic Epoch, from November 25 through January 20. Slow, yes. Delays. Retrogression, ^re^view, ^re^considering, and so on. At a spiritual level, even ^re^pentance.

More fully, let's look at the chart for this entire Epoch, November 25 - January 20 (set up for its midpoint when Mercury is in the heart of the sun from our geocentric perspective). That includes some of the degree symbols occupied by the planets in the chart, this time from the Charubel set (of the three sets I use in these reports). 

The chart is not horrible but is somewhat lazy, not only because it's the Slow Epoch but because the sun, Mercury and Mars are all square Neptune. This is the dreamy or mystical planet. "Don't bother me; I am in another world." 

However, there is energy, stemming from differences; that is, the determining aspect in a bowl-shaped chart is an opposition between Venus and Uranus. "You are weird. You may be crazy. What you sense as your unique self conflicts with my unique self."

This is obviously going on between Islam and Judaism. Zionism versus those who think Israel is being unfair to Palestinians. And on and on. 

Yet Venus seems in a stronger position, so perhaps cease-fires and negotiations have a chance. However, she is in a degree symbolized by "A man holding a fowl by the neck, strangling it." This is like the calls for, or charges of, "genocide" on both sides of the conflict. Others will say that, in Ukraine, Zelensky drafting very young and very old men in a war of attrition (aided and abetted by the United States) is acting like "a cruel person and a coward; one who will take advantage of the weak and defenseless." Ukrainians are being thrown into a metaphoric "meat grinder." Nobody is happy about this (I hope) yet no one stops it. 

Why is this going on? The planet opposing Venus, Uranus, gives a clue by its symbol: "A large flag on a flagstaff on the top of a high mountain." "Some will rise from a very low degree to eminence." The flags of Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, Russia are being raised (but nobody is raising or praising the U.S. flag, that of warmongers, war-promoters, to our shame). Who that is new shall "rise from a low degree to eminence"? Someone to replace Zelensky? There are such rumors.  Someone to replace Netanyahu in Israel, or Joe Biden? Putin is more secure than any of them. 

Unless we are crazy, we are hoping for better leaders. Pluto in the last degree of Capricorn wants to give us one: "A shepherd on the mountain top with crook in hand, looking out for the locality of his sheep." This may be someone you idolize or believe in; for me, it is Robert F. Kennedy Jr. "One who, by reason of his superior powers and advantageous position in life, will be called to be a leader and commander of a community or perchance a nation, in the capacity of president. He will be a ruler indeed." So may it be!

Why is it so hard for us to put such a leader in position? Mars's degree: "A man hesitating to trust himself on a wooden bridge over a chasm." We are "of a fearful disposition; inclined to doubt everything, and prone to suspect even our best friends." How do you see this happening in your own situation?

Yet the sun-Mercury conjunction is trine Jupiter and sextile Saturn. Maybe this is yourself as "a man standing on a rocky eminence with arms folded, in a contemplative mood." "He is self-possessed, with entire confidence in his abilities and in the cause he may have espoused. Generally, he is right."

As for prosperity, during the holiday season, Neptune's symbol is "A great number of reapers in a large field of corn; but very few sheaves." We may "labor without adequate results" even though aspirations and motives are good. However, Saturn well-aspected saves the day: "A luminous cloud sailing in the azure sky opens and pours out on the earth an influence resembling a shower of pearls of variegated hue." This represents "numerous celestial gifts." We will "prosper in matters temporal and spiritual, and that without apparent effort." However, some of this good fortune could be squandered recklessly.

As for love, the fifth through seventh paragraphs pointed out the "you are crazy" syndrome. But Jupiter's symbol confirms better potentials: "A person standing upright within an elliptical figure on the ground." "A person who loves passionately; a great admirer of the opposite sex; a lover of the beautiful, in art and in nature."

In accord with that omen, may you enjoy a wonderful Hanukkah and Christmas season.
