'A man lying prone upon a bed of sickness' suggests indolence, ineptness or apathy more likely than actual sickness. Selfish indulgence without exercise is unhealthy. 'A cross and a broken key' seems like all we have to navigate the peculiarities of life and human absurdity sometimes. We need to 'knock and wait in patience,' restraining impetuosity while cultivating humility of spirit. Then bearing the cross allows one to 'enter the gates of the Temple of Wisdom.'
'A naked man having a serpent coiled around the lower part of the body' denotes 'filthy habits and deeds' perhaps linked with auto-eroticism or something more perverse than that. Rather, one might 'climb a steep hill on a road of steps; an angel form at the top gives words of cheer while a golden crown awaits.' One could pursue an object worthy of one's ambition or mission.
Our suffering is partly represented by the sun's exact conjunction with Saturn, which requires patience and vigilance, as emblemized by 'a watchdog standing guard.' Probity is needed: care and watchfulness. Like the dog, one 'stands ready to protect and reinforce one's fellows in each moment of crisis.' Then 'an angel carrying a harp' enables one to 'avoid the limitations in any given situation' and secure one's place amid the 'over-all harmony' to which one is attuned.
