Tried feats beyond his powers, unwisely,
And wishes he'd drunk less from the tankard
Set on his friend's table hospitably.
The cantankerous man's plans wax and wane
With the moon. He's expedient, not exactly
Friendly, but when his neighbor's debts reach
Bankruptcy he tosses him a lifebuoy god-send.
A woman entering a convent is consecrating
Her talents, with comic insight, toward eternal
Consummation. A girl blowing a bugle summons
Her to participate in a friendly shared challenge.
Depths of soul respond; they need immediate
Expression to justify bodily mutuality.
