Challenge: At least things seem somewhat easier than yesterday, though long-term harsh aspects remain our lot. The Saturn-Uranus square, one of the harshest in astrology, has been intense since January, is exact now, and will be with us, on and off, with more or less intensity, until December when it will be exact for the last time. But then it comes back, within less than a degree, in September -November 2022, and so on. What does it mean? Something different for everyone, but it's a pressure to integrate the old with the new and also to sort out whatever is destructive from your life and eliminate it. "No more of this" could be its mantra. I hope to study and think about it more and write more about it. Today it could be like 'a woman standing in an attitude of dejection, covering her otherwise naked breast with the hair of her head.' This is vulnerability and sorrow, perhaps desertion, so that one feels betrayed or bereaved. Or one may realize one has done this to someone else, either recently or in the remote past. Such karmic consequences cling to us and re-emerge during any Dark Hermetic Epoch (this one lasting until July 7). (I feel that I have deserted some friends at crucial points without even realizing what I was doing.) One might then feel like 'a squirrel hiding from hunters,' that is, cautious in connecting with anyone unless one feels sure the risks involved are not out of proportion to the rewards. But does that mean 'self-debasing timidity' and, again, desertion of someone? It's for you to decide.
Process: Decisions, decisions, are represented by 'a Muse weighing twins.' One is finding one's own values by judging as effectively as one can in the midst of momentary contradictions. Which 'twin' is right for the job, or for your attentions? There are always signals aiding choice if we heed them, and then we do not enter into 'an empty space' which opens us to extraneous influences exacerbating weaknesses.
Blessing: Resorting to the wisdom of the past is not weakness but brings out hidden strength. 'A large archaic volume' sets forth the indestructibility of experience. There are illimitable wisdom-resources for practical guidance. The background of the human race is ours for our advantage. 'A long ladder reaching to the sky' is said by Charubel to show 'scholarship doing much toward the elevation and salvation of mankind.'
