Mercury turns retrograde on Sunday July 7 at 4:16p PT | 7:16p ET | 11:16p UT. That begins three weeks of the retrogradation, until August 1, which is the center of a Dark or Slow or Confusing Hermetic Epoch from June 20 through August 14.
Those who have been reading these reports for years are convinced that these periods are extremely important and that it is helpful to know about them. To put it unkindly, whatever problems you have been having for the past two weeks are likely to get worse before they get better. If that is not true for you, you can thank "your lucky stars" or the Creator of them. The good side of this period is that it forces us to "go deeper" in our awareness, to re-evaluate things, sometimes to repent of "sins," sometimes to correct errors of perception or character, to find our way in a style which improves on what we have done before---usually very slowly, so that the period of re-evaluation and re-discovery can be difficult or painful.
It can seem to affect health, sometimes, because of what Christian Scientists call "chemicalization" or the stirring up of symptoms which seem to get worse before they get better. It can affect work because (a) one feels weary of one's usual methods and tries new ones, which don't work out, or (b) one just "flakes off" and drops usual schedules, or (c) one legitimately tries other approaches to work and life, which might be a good idea but the period of adjustment is complex and confusing.
Probably the word Patience is the closest to an overall remedy for these periods. I am feeling the difficulties definitely on Friday and have felt them to a lesser degree since June 20. It helps to know that one is not going crazy! It helps to know that G*d is not abandoning one! It helps to know that one is not "losing it"! And that is why I make these periods almost the centerpiece of Cosmic Piper's predictive methods.
