Moon in Scorpio
< moon is in the Via Combusta
until 2:00p PT | 5:00p ET | 9:00p UT

Do you remember how I have said that Luna square or opposite Mars tends to go with high winds, often? Now I see that it is predicted that winds will increase Wednesday afternoon (it's Wednesday morning as I write) in the Florence storm hitting the Carolinas, and the moon's square with Mars will be exact near 5 p.m. Wednesday Eastern time. A direct astrological hit, and no astrologer but Cosmic Piper (so far as I know) has noticed the correlation between hard moon-Mars aspects and high winds. (If you know of someone else who has mentioned it, please let me know.)

That square will still be in effect, by the allowable 15 degree orb, until Thursday afternoon. I do not say the winds will calm down after that, because other factors are at play, of course. We have already discussed them in Wednesday's long report and I will not weary you by repeating all of them.

Torrential rain is predicted for Thursday and in Thursday's chart Mercury is opposite Neptune in Pisces by less than one degree, and increasing. Its exactitude may correspond, late Thursday and early Friday, with the time Florence hits the mainland. (I need not repeat that of course Neptune and Pisces rule the ocean and consequently its behavior or threat when there are ocean storms; also rain because water in general is ruled by Neptune and Pisces, while Venus also in a water sign, Scorpio, is square Mars in a wind sign, Aquarius, and opposite the Aquarius ruler Uranus  by one degree, and on and on . . .) (The Water Carrier as the name for Aquarius is being vindicated big-time, with Mars therein square the ruler thereof just when this huge water-carrying air-water-storm hits.)

Of course if you ask who is better equipped to predict the course of hurricanes, an astrologer or a meteorologist, the answer is the meteorologist (with his tons of equipment and billions of government aid), but I cannot fail to perceive many astrological correlations as well and feel it incumbent upon me as a researcher wanting to convey what I have learned to report them.

Thursday:  You could let someone else be the "ostrich," or know-it-all who knows nothing because his head is in the sand, rather than be the ostrich yourself. Sometimes it is better to keep uncooked opinions to oneself lest one appear raw. Or, in a joking mood, one could make fun of oneself as well as others. All you need to do is read stock market forecasts to see that experts are often pompous ostriches. Sometimes the childlike approach is better and more serviceable, "A youth holding a lighted candle." (Provided the candle is not a Juul or vaping device, perhaps.)

Which way the wind is blowing is easier to determine than which way your destiny is forging. Indecision is part of the Mercury-opposite-Neptune aspect, that is, a wonderment about what is real and what is illusion and so about which course to take. This could be true in money decisions, such as investment or long-term purchases. It might be better to hold back unless there is complete certainty. Those with more are always trying to exploit those with less.

The "parrot listening and then talking" may have good luck because she or he (Polly or Jolly) by imitating current trends, mores and customs manages to fit in with what is happening, no matter how mindlessly and artificially. Expressing oneself is relatively straightforward when the rules of the game are clear enough: "A girl's basketball team."

From the stresses of interpersonal bickering one might seek relief in music, singing: the comforts of harmonious sounds. I see a group of exiled Carolinians singing together in their temporary shelter to relieve their storm-anxiety. "An old adobe mission" provides aid and comfort from the often-forgotten past to a distraught humanity whom technology alone cannot save.
