I don't know about you but I have without a doubt been having an extraordinary number of computer and internet mix-ups and glitches during the Dark Hermetic Epoch (or Slow Epoch if you prefer). Just now I spent nearly a half hour trying to get started with this post on Google, had to restart the browser, then restart gmail, then it lost the beginning of this report and I had to try again and retype the beginning.
If I didn't know about the DHE I might have just said, "This is insane, I am not writing a report today" and you would not be reading this. And that is an object lesson for all of us: We are tempted to give up on things when they seem to get impossibly hard or weird. Which they frequently do during a DHE (oh, can't say SHE because that would look sexist!). (And, today, I and all of us are contending with a |difficult third of the week|, namely Luna's conjunction with Saturn.)
As for weather, it too seems to be harder during these DHE times, which I have noticed for years. As for the fires wracking the West, here is something from the front page of today's NYTimes: "Climate change may be intensifying California’s fires, but the blazes are almost all ignited by humans, not natural causes." In other words, during the DHE people do crazier things and get more careless because so involved in their inner worlds that they forget to put out a campfire or maybe are so upset that they deliberately set a fire. We can't blame Mercury or Hermes for that. They are (or rather he is) gods of the human mind and we are in control of our minds, not the planets, though it seems that when we go into "machine mode" or become semi-conscious or lose control, planetary aspects take over.
Right now and for preceding months since May, that has included Mars square Uranus. It is very rare that that incendiary aspect would last so long. Usually it lasts about two to three weeks. This time Mars went retrograde and had its station right at the point where it was square Uranus, so it has lasted four months and shall last (by a seven degree orb) until early October. Combining it with the DHE, we had way too many fires, and not just in the U. S. Today, two days after Mercury turned direct, some of the worst fires have been contained and the Seattle papers say that later this week we may be free of the smoke which has afflicted us for too long. Let's salute and pray for the courageous fire fighters! I believe two of them have lost their lives. It seems a thankless job and I for one am very grateful for their sacrifice. Not only Mercury but Mars and four other planets being retrograde, their work has been hard no doubt. That could be another reason for more fires during a DHE--the difficulties of fighting them increase, even sometimes human errors for which no one could seriously be blamed amid such turmoil. Our patience and skill seem tested to the limit.
Tuesday: There is something good about mathematical abilities, or the capacity to arrange things geometrically or in equations, or just taking charge of a lot of details in some area of your life and arranging them perfectly, as in a diagram.
We may think in circles. (A perfect equation is something like a circle, the end and beginning joined.) This is not necessarily wrong. Hegel's brilliant "logic" (which seems equally a metaphysic) was conceived of as circular, in some exalted sense. You may see that in your work, that of which you are most proud, you circle back and recover things or methods you had tried or discovered long ago.
People can be easily influenced, or manageable in a sweet way, when you care about them enough to help them find their path.
Attraction and love are not absent. Marriages could be fortunate. The lofty, spiritual side of love is emphasized. A union of hearts is not a forced collusion of passions and jealousies, but something beyond description--which is why there are so many love songs.
Venus in Libra, often a sign of flirtation or even adultery, can be exhilarating even if more than one love is competing for your attention. Troubles which could result are obvious enough to be avoided!
