Moon in Virgo
|Karmically difficult third| of this week begins at 11:27a PT | 2:27p ET | 7:27p UT (until late-afternoon Sunday)

The above clues suggest that this is not an extremely great party Friday. However, if one is calm and peaceful one can have a good time, probably with less spending and exorbitance than one might have chosen at a more convivial period. One needs to watch health carefully, though social vibrations are present as well.
A May-pole with a crown of flowers at the top, and a man climbing to procure it. Sole object: popularity. The love of approbation predominates. c
A Chinese laundry. Seclusion. s
There is no symbol to this degree. Charged with evil, possibly wickedness of a most diabolical nature. Reserved and studious practitioner of black magic. Hopefully modified by other factors. c
A woman sitting on a tombstone in the act of weeping. Sensitive and sympathetic. A lover of the shady side of life more than the sunshine. c
The purging of the priesthood. Reformation. s
A crown through which is set an upright sword. High resolves. Capable of sustaining the assaults of enemies to achieve purposes without loss of fortune or honor. Unswerving faith. Victory. b
A circle within a circle, both concentric. A life bounded by another, a happiness that can never be shared alone. Close relationships of domestic life in perfect accord. Sweet influences engendered by a nature disposed to harmony. Cherishing those of smaller attainments or less mature. Guarding. b
There is plenty in the symbols to carry out the theme of the |karmically harsh third| of this week into which we are entering. Someone intent on climbing the Maypole to win popularity, but also having to work in seclusion as in a laundry, could become bitter and turn into a "black magician," to gain love or power by evil means since other means have failed. We have plenty of stories about such characters in movies and TV episodes, though most of us find it hard to believe that there are actually people practicing the evil arts with dismal success. Still, the square between Mars and Venus now could inflame jealousy to the point of malice or revenge. Probably, since a pure heart is usually the best protection, it would be better for us to seek out and nullify those unseen evil urges in ourselves than to be looking around suspiciously for them in others.
Sympathy with others' woes, as in the woman weeping at the tombstone, is also salutary in lifting our ethical tone and guiding us to admirable acts or prayers of kindness.
The purging of the priesthood could in fact be perceiving hypocrisy in supposed ethical or spiritual leaders, and taking a stand against it, or it could be our trying to purge ourselves of the "black magician," reforming ourselves. The latter needs to precede the former.
Then there is the invigorating guarantee of victory, when one's resolves are high.
Finally, one has the power and incentive to protect those dear to oneself, or one especially perhaps, through guarding and cherishing. This inevitably brings guarding and cherishing of oneself in return. This is a beautiful symbol.

The symbols and their interpretation are intended to apply basically during the hours from dawn to midnight. Often a planet will move from one degree to another during the day, so I use a time near mid-afternoon for all of them, so that they shall be exactly right during most, often all, of the daylight hours. The period from midnight to dawn could partake of the nature of either day or both.
