\Crowded Experience Cultivated Toward Spiraling Fulfillment/

Moon in Virgo

A lot is going on. I mentioned yesterday how the position of Mars in Sagittarius opposite the U. S. Mars has to do with guns and killing, a U. S. obsession which does not reflect well on our national character. Then, on Wednesday, even the President is calling for stricter gun sale laws and other related measures. Yet people are wondering how firm he will be about this. Gemini is a changeable (mutable) sign, and an air sign, and could be called "trigger-happy" when it comes to guns. In a purely symbolic sense; Gemini individuals are not violent usually. But they are "mercurial" and are in fact ruled by Mercury and so we have a Gemini president whose moves are not predictable from day to day.

But many felt that his support for some change in gun laws was promising, at least. Venus in Pisces is square the U. S. Mars now, and square the transiting Mars in Sagittarius. Pisces is the sign of sympathy and kindness (at its best) and so we had the girl in Florida lying on the ground with a sign "Protect Children, not Guns." She was Venus in Pisces; and was "square to" the U. S. Mars in Gemini as well as the transiting Mars in Sagittarius. This is going on, and she is not alone because Mercury is with her, in Pisces, and the sun and Neptune. So we are seeing played out a drama in which Pisces, sign of goodness and kindness at its best, is conquering the impulsiveness and idiotic thoughtless violence of Mars no matter where it may be. About time, most of us are thinking.

But, as usual, I make no predictions. That is not really what astrology is for, although it gives clues.

Meanwhile it did indeed seem that Charubel's symbol for part of Wednesday's events, "The ascendant enveloped in gloom and blackness," "the degree of death," came true for me in that my illness continued, in fact had a relapse; and the skies were totally black where I am. Well, much more cloudy than usual with not a glint of sunlight. And, "the degree of death" was highly significant in Washington where almost the only topic of conversation was gun control.

As for "the horse leaping over a barrier to liberty" that was evident in me subjectively, in my consciousness, and maybe in Trump in that he broke with his party and the NRA to take a stand against the worst sides of the "gun culture." (Although, being Gemini, he wants to be on both sides.)

Meanwhile the seven symbols for Wednesday fit to a T the movie "Dark Crystal" which is playing in select theaters. It was released in 1982 and is a cult classic, deservedly. In 1982 I saw it and loved it and invited a friend to see it with me. On Wednesday another friend, 36 years later, went to see it and I would have gone except for the illness. It is an excellent film reminiscent to me of the epoch of the Chosen People escaping from the Land of Egypt. And much more than that. The seven symbols for Wednesday almost exactly give the lines on which it is wrought out in its spiritual essence.

Have you noticed how jumpy things are? This is Mars square the four Pisces planets. It keeps us on our toes. Pisces wants to rest, sleep, meditate, go into another world (as do the Mystics in the Dark Crystal film). Mars, no matter in what sign, wants none of that, it wants action. So the square makes for lying down and getting up; resting and being interrupted;  enjoying but then feeling one must act and cease enjoying to get something done.

I did not go to the spiritual group Wednesday evening. I wanted to, in fact felt I had a mission to do that, but the illness (a viral virus which feels like a killer) prevented me. I needed the rest for the sake of sheer physical well-being.

Thursday:

A wooden bridge over a chasm, a man at its end hesitating to trust himself on it.  Fearful disposition; inclined to doubt everything, and suspect even his best friends.  c

A child and a dog with borrowed eyeglasses.  Examination.  s

A truncated cone.  Will rise to good position. Danger of cessation of fortune followed by vexations.  Should aim higher than meaning to hit, or remain contented.  Curtailment.  b

A woman sitting on a tombstone in the act of weeping.  Sensitive and sympathetic. A lover of the shady side of life more than the sunshine.  c

A woman reclining upon a couch, scantily attired.  Given to ease and luxury, soft pleasures of the senses. Makes chains of flowers more difficult to break than bonds of steel. Will dream while others work, and drift upon the river of life.  Sensuality.  b

An inhabited island.  Cultivation.  s

A very large disk consisting of circles of light with dark grey interspaces.  These circles resemble wheels within wheels, which I find on closer examination to be spiral, all revolving.  This symbol contains far more than I am able to express in words.  He may seek to do as others do, but it will not answer.  He is inclined to give up in despair, but just at that critical moment an inspiration fires his inner self, a new light develops, he gets out of those dark interspaces where he may have been floundering for years, on to the circle of evolving light.  Henceforth he is on his groove and is carried onward and upward.  c

The woman on the tombstone and the woman scantily attired on the couch, at opposite extremes of experience, well represent the "inhabited island" if that means human life in all its richness and interest, annoyance and exaltation. We go through opposite experiences in order to cultivate our souls. Our neighbors on the island are either sad or exhilarated, profound or sensual, and we may not even know precisely what they are going through. Yet we are forced through proximity to share their lives indirectly.

All the symbols seem to be contained in the final one, for through the first six we learn to ride that revolving spiral happily rather than get thrown off it. So may it be today.

Cosmic Piper

b: Signor Borelli, 19th century clairvoyant; interpreted by Sepharial who was Walter Gorn Old
c: Charubel, 19th century clairvoyant who was John Thomas
s: Sabian symbols which came through psychic Elsie Wheeler, interpreted by Marc Edmund Jones

The symbols and their interpretation are intended to apply basically during the hours from dawn to midnight. Often a planet will move from one degree to another during the day, so I use a time near mid-afternoon for all of them, so that they shall be exactly right during most, often all, of the daylight hours. The period from midnight to dawn could partake of the nature of either day or both.
