~Good Luck, Butterfly~

Moon in Scorpio
>moon in the Via Combusta (until early Wednesday)

A lady sitting on a divan fanning herself. Enjoying the good things of life. Prosperity.  c

An old woman seated on a stool with a hooded cloak wrapped closely round her.  Selfishness, jealousy, bitterness.  Isolation.  b

A dark face wearing an expression of fierce anger, and across the forehead a red band of blood.  Vindictive. Frenzy or acute mania.  Malice.  b

Hunters starting out for ducks.  Enterprise.  s

A man on crutches.  Perhaps infirmity or ill-fortune.  c
Cupid knocking at the door.  Allurement.  s

A butterfly with the right wing more perfectly formed.  Uniqueness.  s

The women in the first two symbols are opposites. One may take one's choice. Perhaps the first is the right wing of the butterfly, the second the less perfectly formed left wing. One may ask, "Which would I rather be?" The question tends to answer itself.

The malice and vindictiveness in the angry face are likely to be subtle in most of us, even unconscious. Plenty of people feel wronged in one way or another and this could be a clue that we ought to be aware of that and try to understand their grievances and be helpful to them or at least friendly so their anger is minimized or cured.

The hunters feel confident that they can gain something. The keyword Enterprise suggests they are businessmen launching a new or improved scheme. But if there is a "hunting accident" one of them may end up on crutches. Laws of karma sometimes act quickly.

But, as Jesus taught, the best way to deal with the unjust and greedy is to bless them. Then life will teach them the lessons they need and protect us from their machinations.

Nobody is likely to reject Cupid's knock at the door, except maybe the old woman brooding in her cloak or the man on crutches who can't get there in time.  Some of us may hope to be like the prosperous lady on the divan waiting for Cupid's knock. That might work if we navigate the warnings of the other degrees successfully.

The formula for Venus square Jupiter, the Dynamic Aptness aspect of the day, is "An intimate approach to enthusiasm," or a way of evoking good feelings in people and oneself no matter if political, religious or taste differences may seem uncongenial.

Of the lopsided butterfly, Dr. Jones says "The self mobilizes its powers effectively as it takes full advantage of the significant differences in both itself and its world." At best this is "a genius for turning deficiency into a real asset."

P. S.  Stars

"Don't let the stars get in your eyes; don't let the moon break your heart." That neat line from an old 1950s song is in my head as I decide to leave out the "star ratings" I have researched for hours upon hours, months upon months and years upon years. I believe they mean something; but what they mean is so dependent on and intertwined with "other factors" each day that it almost becomes impossible to make out what they mean. It is easier to write a few paragraphs, as I did above, trying to use all the information at my disposal, rather than somehow to reduce the complexity of the day to a single rating. And so, reluctantly, I am leaving them out and hope that "less is more" will prove true in this case.  Actually, stopping the tedious calculation of these, and the boring posting of them, frees up my mind to attend more closely to all the daily aspects and positions. My research on those has been relentless, and continues, and I hope it will be helpful.
