~The Familiar as Refuge~

Moon in Cancer-->Leo
/moon goes void-of-course at 1:52p PT | 4:52p ET | 9:52p UT
until it enters Leo at 8:43p PT | 11:43p ET | 4:43a(Tu) UT
|Karmically difficult third| of this week continues until it
ends at 11:05a PT | 2:05p ET | 7:05p UT

This week the |karmically decisive| or |Karmically difficult| third of the week was a humdinger for me. It covered Saturday and Sunday, and I came down with a cold late Friday which utterly ruined my weekend, in terms of outer activities. That is not the first time this has happened. Two-day or three-day colds often happen, to me at least, during those times. More serious things also happen then, such as 9/11/01 and 11/22/63 (assassination of John Kennedy).  A friend did not suffer health problems but had tickets to a special event on Sunday for himself and his beloved, and then she was too ill to go. He asked me, but I was deep into semi-recovery from the cold. At the last I know he was still looking for someone to go with him.

Does that mean we should just give up and cancel all events during those 2.5 days every week? The question answers itself. It is impossible. People have to go to work on those days, and to meetings scheduled, and appointments, and on and on.

So it's a matter of finesse, individually. If you are really ill, as I have been this weekend, you will cancel things. If they are frivolous (a cartoon festival!) you can easily toss them out of your schedule. If they are crucial to your standing or your loyalty in a group or to your profession or job, you will go and do your best. Knowing about the |difficult third| will help you adjust to things, expect less and endure more without complaining. It may help you suffer the sufferings or complaints of others with more patience. "They can't help it; it's the |difficult third|."

Maybe it would help if I gave out the times a week ahead? Next time it will be:
Friday 2 March, beginning at 11:27a PT | 2:27p ET | 7:27p UT
through Saturday, until Sunday 4 March at 3:57p PT | 6:57p ET | 11:57p UT

This doesn't mean the weekend has to be a total bummer but probably more quiet, simple activities would be preferential to lively and ambitious ones.

Monday:

An old man with a pack upon his back and a long staff in his hand walking down a hill.  Remarkable fortunes. Estranged from kindred at early age to follow an adventurous fortune.  Roaming and privation; resignation.  Remarkable powers.  Pilgrimage.  b

Pelicans moving their habitat.  Frontier.  s

A man in a boat on a lake.  Fond of fishing and aquatic exercise. Maybe indolent and partial to the joys of Bacchus.  c

A deep red star of the first magnitude on the ascendant; but a very short interval elapses between its rising and its setting. But when set, I see a pale golden light succeeding.  A virulent degree. Do not follow the dictates of passion, nor yield to the desires of thy lower nature. If though dost, a short and wretched life is thy lot. But if by virtue of firm resolve thou art able to overcome those elemental promptings, then thou wilt pass through the evil crisis, and thereby ensure a long, useful, prosperous, and happy life.  c

A helical scroll.  Undecided, changeful, fickle. Lost in a multitude of projects and imaginings. Imagination runs riot with reason.  Wandering.  b

A man habited in rough clothes hewing timber close to a log hut.  Contented and laborious. Adaptable to circumstances. Fashioning a world of one's own from materials which nature supplies. Industry, stability, virtue, humility.  Utility.  b

A table set for an evening meal.  Familiarity.  s

These symbols contain the extremes of responsibility and irresponsibility.  I leave you to untangle them and see what they mean to you.

c: Charubel, 19th century clairvoyant who was John Thomas
s: Sabian symbols which came through psychic Elsie Wheeler, interpreted by Marc Edmund Jones

The symbols and their interpretation are intended to apply basically during the hours from dawn to midnight. Often a planet will move from one degree to another during the day, so I use a time near mid-afternoon for all of them, so that they shall be exactly right during most, often all, of the daylight hours. The period from midnight to dawn could partake of the nature of either day or both.
